Are these 2 companies affiliated?

I just received an email from Summit Scheduling. But I was asked to sign up at Measure Consumer Perspectives. Are these two companies affiliated? What's your take on on both?

MCP is a very good MSC.
Summit only schedules and does so for many MSCs.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
So Summit shceduling is a job board platform like Sassie, Prophet etc?

Day,

No, as to the above question. Summit, as a scheduling company, would be comparable to Kern or Coast to Coast. Although you didn't inquire, Measure uses the Shopmetrics platform, pays on the 15th of the month following the shop completion and is, in my opinion, a reputable MSC.
I just started working for Measure Consumer Perspectives...3 shops so far. Too soon for payment yet but they accepted all three shops without an issue. They gave me the "OK to Pay" message to each one.

I have "worked" with Summit Scheduling on other shops with other MSCs and no problems.

My only beef is that I hate the whole "middle man" concept...MSC to scheduler; scheduler to shopper; and vice versa. When there is a real problem with a shop or something that needs immediate attention, you can never actually reach the scheduler and you have no way to contact the MSC.

MCP is a GREAT company! Love, love doing their shops. I find the reports a little redundant in some questions, but not over-the-top.

@Shop2Live - I agree, I don't care for the middle man approach either. I prefer to work directly with the MSC Rep who manages each particular account. But, it seems like more and more MSC's are going to independent scheduling companies. Has anyone else seen a rise in using scheduling companies?

@Leetw1 - Not trying to be mean here, but why are the majority of all of your posts so negative? Maybe that is why you are not getting jobs?

Responding to the above - Yes, Summit is scheduling a large exit interview project for Measure in May, June and July. The rest of their projects are scheduled in house. Summit works for more than two dozen companies for scheduling and/or editing. I know shoppers hate having to work through a "middle man" but in cases like this when an MSP has a large extra project, it often makes sense for them to contract a scheduling company rather than increase their in-house staff since the work isn't ongoing.

I'm happy to answer any questions or direct any inquiries to the appropriate Summit scheduler if you email judith@summitscheduling.com . Please put some information in the email though, such as your name and which client and project you are asking about. You'd be amazed at the number of emails I get every day that just say, "I want this shop" or "reschedule my shop" and have no other identifying information.

Gill Scheduling (or Judith or Summit Scheduling and Editing) ~ Thank you for explaining the need for a scheduling company especially with special projects. Your good points do make sense.

I have tried to get my forum name changed but to no avail. I made this account before Summit Scheduling was born, years ago. But, it's all me!

People may feel there is that extra layer that can delay problem resolution. I would imagine that partly depends on the scheduling companies familiarity with the project and authority in problem resolution. Otherwise, there are schedulers who take a long time to answer questions, those who never do and others who must work 24/7 because they respond so quickly. I see that across the board and have never noticed it to be significantly different with scheduling companies versus company employees.

Judith, PM JacobJ and he can change your forum name for you.
Once again Lisa is myspokesperson. To schedulers, please be aware that we work on weekends too and need to get in touch before Mon Please address this issue. I can almost never get ahold of scheduler on the we if I have a problem. Not working for me.
