Yes that flower is sometimes used a a symbol for it.
and to answer the other posters question, macro is almost always an option while in "auto" mode.
if you try to take a picture at a distance in macro it will be blurry since it is designed to focus close-up. You can use it to take pics of your receipts close-up, this way you do not have to scan them in or resize them later on.
Also use it for close-up shops while on audits. Works great.
