OK, which company shops Royal Caribbean? I need a break!

Wow, I've been kept busy. Does anyone else get the feeling that companies are increasing the number of shops they're offering, or am I just that unfamiliar with the nature of the industry? I started shopping about three years ago and left it after 6 months of not getting many jobs. I started back with a vengeance after finding this forum, and I've been getting at least one sometimes two or even three shops a day...or is this now normal?

Seriously, does any company shop the cruise lines?

Yes, crusise lines are shopped, seacaptain..LOL.. But, be careful what you wish for. I've heard they are VERY intense and not a relaxing vacation. I haven't completed a cruise for one company that I know offers them, but I did a restaurant and it took me hours just to do that report, so I'm figuring I'd run out of hours in the day to report a cruise trip.

BTW, I usually do between 5-8 shops per day, so 1,2 or 3 a day would be a light day for me. The number of shops you can get seems to be related to experience and location. I'm definitely doing way more shops now days than when I started almost ten years ago. The more companies you're signed up with, the larger the variety and more choices you'll have.

There's not enough hours in the day to finish the narratives for the RC shops when at sea (or nearly enough internet bandwidth), so I gave up and just took notes on my last cruise shop.

When I got back, I spent 30 hours completing the report. It was a 5 day cruise and around a $1,500 value, so I guess it was in the 'normal' category for work vs profit on my scale (I require at least $25/hr in reimbursement to consider a shop worth my time).

Pros: I got a free day in Cozumel out of it. My guest now 'owes' me a cruise.

Cons: You don't get to to keep the cruise credit for your Crown & Anchor status. The liquor policy for RC shops is conservative to say the least, considering the drinking that goes on during the cruise.
I just got accepted for a company that does hotels and cruises. It took me about 2 hours to read their requirements and samples. OMG! It sounds so intense. You practically have to count the breaths and heartbeats of the people you're evaluating. But thecompany has 'little' phone shops so you can get your feet wet while learning their style.

Be careful what you wish for.
