Sounds like a scam to me. 'Evaluations' is a term more frequently used in scam emails while 'shops' is more frequently used in legitimate emails. The normal pay for a new shopper is $10 to $15 as a fee so $180 is highly suspect. If you did not find them to register on a website but rather they found you it is even more likely to be a scam. What would really seal the deal for scam is if they send you a check to be cashed 'do your shops' and send along some of the funds as an evaluation of Western Union.

Never heard of Shop Research Market Research Inc and can't imagine that any real company would be so stupid as to use the same word twice in their name.
What I do not understand is if you have 23 posts, would you not be highly suspect of this? It is a scam. SPAM it.
Try to locate any info them at all. I called the BBB, they said they are not on their lists. So I questioned the Cyber Crime people. They said the "Quote" If it sounds too good to be true. Just spam it. They are playing on the unemployed or underemployed. When you contact them they want your account number to deposit money then they take your life away. It is just another phish!!!

I almost fell for this. If it wasn't for this web site, I would have gone for it. This web site also introduced ligitimate operations as well. Thank you!
Hello...I'm new here. Just received the same email as Docrw673 a few minutes ago.

So these criminals typically ask for bank acct number to supposedly transfer money?
That could be one of the scams. Most of the ones we hear about involve them sending a large check. The deal is you are supposed to cash it and keep your "pay" before wiring it off to another "shopper." A couple of weeks later the check bounces and you are on the hook for thousands. It works because many people don't realize the bank releases the money BEFORE finding out if the check is bad and it takes so long for it to come back. The scam is not limited to mystery shoppers and happens to people selling things on Craigslist and E-bay as well. A friend of mine was liquidating some items from her restaurant and had more than one buyer want to send her a check for 2 to 3 times the amount of the purchase and have her wire back the extra.
