Almost Scammed

I had inquired to a few sites for info on being a mystery shopper. I received several e-mails from B.Buisness Sollutions asking if I was interested. I sent them all the information they requestd by e-mail. I received a cashier check in the mail for $2.850.00 and was instructed to mystery shop at western union.Keeping $200.00 for myself and sending the rest to a address they provided. I just knew this did not sound right. But I got on line looked up B.Business Solutions and found this forum. Surprisingly everything looked ligit. When I went to the bank to cash the check I spoke with the bank teller who reccommended I call the bank the check was drawn from. It was drawn off a bank in Texas. Thank goodness I followed her advise as the check was FAKE. I got back on the B.Business website and after scanning the site more carefully found a Scam warning in very small print. They said there has been people using there company name pulling off these scams. I am disappointed in myself as I am usually so very careful and cautious. I think I just so wanted to beleive it was true. But as the saying goes if it is too good to be true,it is.

Yes, the scammers know to use the name of a real company to make the offer look real. There is even one guy out there (and I'm pretty sure it is one) who throws up a website for you to register, but that means he must use a name other than that of a legitimate company. That guy's offices are usually somewhere around Times Square in NYC. One of his office addresses was the office of Kelly or Manpower or one of those temporary help companies. Another office address was some theatrical agency. But too much money for simple tasks and wire transferring money away are the hallmarks of a scam.
The names used are major MS companies as Flash has stated. Never accept any money upfront in any form. Ever! Your teller did you a really big favor because you may have been out a goodly sum with no possibility for compensation. Thank you for posting this grandy. You returned the favor that the teller offered to your fellow shoppers.
one time i wanted to purchase a three-wheeler motorbike/scooter that normally retailed at $8000, so i searched online to find the best price that i could. then i found a website that was selling about 20 different motorbikes, all brand-new but last year's models, all at 25% off. they said that they had purchased too many of them and just couldn't sell them all. then i began emailing the contact person back and forth to potentially arrange to make a purchase. i was asked for all of my private contact information and instructed to send the money via western union before i would receive a receipt. the websites mailing address was a PO Box in another state, but the company itself originated from outside of the country. i realized that i would have no legal recourse if i were to actually send the money, so i declined from sending money or private contact information. i was very disappointed that someone would get my hopes up like that, but i reported it to a fraud agency.
B. Business Solutions is a completely legitimate MSP...I work for them, most of their emails aren't from @bizshoptalk.com, so it makes it harder.
