American Jewelry Exchange

Are they legit? Why are they allowed to post shops on our boards? Supposedly, they want to have shoppers evaluate their new website. They set up a time for you to call and have your computer set to their site. The information is given over the telephone. The website is not truly interactive. You can only evaluate them AFTER sending in your jewelry.

Yes, they are legit. I did the shop and was offered it by a scheduling company. When they call you at the scheduled time, the website becomes "live" where you can actually see the rep as he speaks to you on the phone. The rep will explain everything to you, and you can ask questions. If you want to sell your jewelry, they will send you a mailing box (insured) and you send your jewelry. They will call you and set up a time where the rep and you can view on the website live the rep opening your box as you are on the phone with them. The rep will take out your jewelry, examine, weigh, and give you a price.

It's good to have a general idea of what it's worth per gram before you get their offer. Maybe get a quote from another gold place local first. I thought the price they gave me was fair, and you can haggle the price a bit. The check arrived within a week. At the end, they just ask you a few questions on the phone after giving you a quote.
I did the first part of "testing" out the site as they call it but declined to send in any jewelry for them to examine and possibly purchase. Although I spent a half hour talking to them, I did not get paid the $25 they were touting. I guess you only get that if you actually send in jewelry.
I personally do not consider them a true MSC and do not think they should be allowed to post on this forum.
I just did the 'live' jewelry consultation yesterday. It was very simple. I sent in my jewelry in a box they sent me, plus downloaded a shipping label they emailed me. I opted to buy an additional $350 insurance at the post office. They insure it for $500.

I had no idea what it was worth, so took the jewelry to a gold buying company and also to Kevin's Jewelers to see what those companies would give me for it.

When we did the live presentation, I could see them open the box, examine each piece, etc. I did take their offer which was about $25 higher than the gold buying company. Plus, I get an additional check for $25 for taking part in their 'live' testing. Of course, my Google Chrome decided it was time to not work when then called, so I had to use hubby's MAC.

They told me they mail out their checks on Friday, so I'm expecting some $ either Mon or Tues.

I think I saw this from Palm Scheduling.
