Brake Shops Question

There are always brake shops available and they are pretty easy to do but I do have a question. Suppose I go to XYZ Company on Jones Road and do a shop and there is a shop for same company (XYZ) on Smith Road. If I do the one on Jones Road, will I show up in the Smith Road store's computer as a customer who just had a brake inspection done?

Or maybe to make it simpler if XYZ Company has 6 locations and all have brake shops available - can I do all six or will one location be able to tell I have been to other locations for the same company?

That is a question best addressed to the scheduler. While some automotive chains share information from location to location (like handling my tire warranty at a Walmart other than the one where I bought the tires or the chain of oil change places I shop that has asked me why I went to the other location), some are independent and free standing. My guess is that if it is a true franchise the information is not shared except where a warranty is involved and possibly not even then.
For many of those where the MSC is okay with multiple visits you are not only allowed, but encouraged to use an alias. Brake inspections are usually free, but it never hurts to have some cash on hand if you are giving a phony name. Don't want that credit or debit card to give you awaysmiling smiley

I checked with the MSC and was told I could take another car and from the email I gather it wouldn't be kosher to use an alias.
Hmmm . . . they always ask me for my ID, but I've done a few different locations for both oil changes and brake inspections. Haven't had any issues to date, but I've only been shopping for a few months now.
If its the same chain they will have your name, phone number and car on all their computers.

For instance if I go to a Firestone in one state, I wouldnt be surprised if a Firestone in another state could look up my info on their computer - usually they ask for your home phone number as one of the ways.
Amazingly, there is one large group of brake and tire stores that link their data bases only by phone number. I am currently doing a series of these. For some I am asked specifically to use the same phone number; for others I am asked to use a unique number. So far, not one store manager has decided to "bore down" thru the data base to see when I was last at one of their locations or what service was performed.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Off hand I also know of at least 3 or 4 different chains that are shopped. I've done them with an alias.
