I don't see why the MSC cannot be named. There are actually 2 threads about this subject and I have yet to see a client name, only a discussion about the policy.

my Trendsource board doesn't show any jobs to bid on.
I couldn't agree with OP anymore...anyone who takes jobs less than $5, $10 or more is selling yourself and the rest of us. For real people, your time and gas is worth more than $1.

My reply--------A good company, but far from MY favorite. I typed good, as, while the pay leaves something to be desired, it arrives promptly and when they've needed a job completed, I've never received a begging plea. In one case, a grocery was listed at a total of $18 fee & reimbursement; they paid me the $72 I requested.

I see the bidding on shops for NYC and California (I checked) I don't see bidding around here. The website states it's a pilot program. GRRRReat.

I haven't heard of this, could this be offered to those who do the low price jobs, some seem to have gotten these, while others not.

They have no more shops in my area I'm willing to do, since they lost their grocery store ones recently.

I have not seen anything about bidding for shops with Trendsource here in So Cal just the EIN business.
They are already full and gone, almost all of them, that I could see that had not been closed, at 20 cents I even saw one that was picked up for a penny.
What was the point of a penny? Why didn't the shopper just offer to pay them?

What are these shoppers thinking and especially with gas at over $4? Don't they realize they lost money even though they received a minor, and I do mean minor, reimbursement?

Excellent point about gas. I actually think the reimbursement on these shops is fair, but the expense of transportation definitely eats into it, making the prospect even less appealing.
What are these bidding shops that you speak of? I have never seen these before on their site. Is it only for certain areas?

Yes, it seems to be limited to certain areas of the country, and at least so far, only on one particular shop.
Same here, I had to do the EIN thing, nothing about bidding.

The shops are gone right now. They were the ones where you could get the "Whole"som food that was organic and fresh. I am hoping they will get rid of the pilot program ASAP ! This is the first time that I known a company to pin shoppers agaisnt shoppers.

Did anyone ever think of this?
They are testing the bidding process now, and once they require the eins, they will make bidding full scale. Just like contractors bid on construction jobs, except in this case people will bid on shops as contractors.
Maybe that is why they want people to have the ein.

I think it's pathetic of the company to do this. I seriously hope that those low-ballers are really just under-bidding with no intent on performing the assignments, in the hopes of ticking off the MSC. Otherwise, yikes! There's hungry and then there's stupid - and we all know you can't fix stupid! Taking a shop where one has to drive anywhere for less than $1 - gee, even less than $5 - is sad.

Reimbursement for the wholesome shop seems to be fair for those that shop there, great store, free food and there is usually one in every town.
I did those shops for them under normal circumstances, and saw them
on the board without a mention of bidding, but like normal, they were all taken.

I think you are all looking at this the wrong way, you say how can anybody do a shop for only a penny and I don't know about you but most of the restaurant shops I get are for reimbursement only so to me that's a penny more than most companies pay. I would work for a penny if I was planning on eating there anyways and they are gonna pay me for my food, thats worth more than a few pennies to me since it was money I was going to spend anyways. You know how much your time is worth and if the bidding goes under that then don't bid and who knows you might actually get some shops for a higher fee than you would have done them for. It's just like CoRI except they start high and go low in a shorter amount of time.

I don't think that we have anything to worry about regarding the $1-$5.00 shop fees. If a person takes these kind of fees on a regular basis they cannot be an effective shopper. Now maybe if they get only new people to take them, that could possibly work. I mean the new shoppers that think that they need to take them to get their foot in the door. I say take your time, get a little experience and sign up with many companies, you will have a better experience and make more money
