What happens after we submit a report?

I've been MS for five years now, have done all kinds. I'm always curious as to what happens after we submit our reports. What do editors do with several reports for a specific company, one is greatly detailed, one is rather skimpy - how do they even that out?

Also, what does the client do with these reports - do they go directly to the people who were 'shopped'?

Just curious!!

I think it depends which MSC we are talking about as to how they handle it internally. And it probably depends on every client how the report information is used .... or if it is even read. Sometimes with the client, it depends on who exactly ordered the report and what exactly they want to know. Some are doing it just because they can or are focusing on one particular area. Sometimes when I shop a facility that does not perform a certain required task, or the facility does not meet the report standards, that continues to be the case on subsequent visits. Other times, one report with a "does not meet" report, then the next visit I will notice it is fixed.
One time I completed a "compliance" audit where I introduced myself to the manager. I then completed the audit with mostly negative answers.
About a month later, I returned to this same business as a customer. The cashier who was the new manager remembered me. He told me two "suits" from the main office and the owner visited. They took a quick look at the interior of the store and asked that the former manager join them in the back office. Ten minutes later, the owner came out and told the cashier that he had a promotion.
I "assume" someone took a look at the compliance audit.
Just asked the question of my friend who was in a position to look at the reports at her old company. What she told me was that the reports go to the VP and work their way down to the store manager. The scores are part of the individual employee's review and are used to improve the employee's job performance.
