That would depend where you live. Not every company does every area of the country.

One of the basic rules of shopping is to apply apply apply.
Jobs will not come on a silver platter. I may not enjoy one kind of a job while others flock to it.

We all started at square one and built a data base. Keep an excel file and jst apply to every company you see a posting for... it all works.
Go to volition.com to pick out companies that look good to you or google your
state like Ohio mystery shops.

A note on Shop n Check (MFI) --if you take some el cheapo jobs and built a reputation, they will call you with bonused jobs. And they don't return reports with unreasonable demands.

That makes it 12......excellent dozen

Stephie I'm new to Mystery Shopping. In my 3rd week and have already received my first check. My preference is apartment shopping. The pay is better and they are quick to organize several shops together if I have to travel a distance to the shop. Some say the paper work is longer but just recently I did a $8 shop and had to buy a $5 meal. The meal will be reimbursed but the paper work was 26 pages long. I won't do that again!! (smile)

I was anxious when I first started shopping thinking there would be no shops in my area. Boy was I surprised. Seems like every video store, fast food, retail store and apartment complex is doing mystery shopping. I've even noticed some great shops in Rural areas in my state I would have never even thought there would be shops in those places.

I have done as every one suggests and have signed up for bunches of shop companies. And surprisingly most have shops in my area and I'm pleased to do the shop.
It sounds like you have a good start, billienicolosi. Curious who had the 26-page report. You can state the shopping company if you don't name the client, or vice versa.
JoanG and bugspost,

You guys forgot [www.sassie.com] IntelliShop! We'll just call it a baker's dozen, okay?

And to billienicolosi, I'm curious about the 26-page report, too. As sneakers wrote, just state the shopping company or the client's name.
