CFA

I have two assignments this week with CFA and just received a message that there was an assignment change. Well, the only change was the pay - it was reduced, by $3.00 per assignment. I sent them an email asking why. Can't wait to hear this one.

Isn't that Certified Field Associates as in part of Market Force? That's a trick Market Force has been using for a couple of years now. I'm sure they expect the majority of people to complete the jobs since they've planned routes around them prior to the fee drop.

That has never happened to me with MF blue portal. Must be a purple portal specialty.
I don't know which is blue and which is purple. MFI has pulled that on several occasions in the last 18 months. This is the first report I've heard of CFA using the same tactics, but if it has worked for their sister company it was only a matter of time.

You missed it then. 18 to 20 months MFI posted some tire store audits. After virtually all of them had been scheduled and some had even been completed, they proceeded to cut the fee from $18 to $12 for jobs which were not yet completed while increasing photo requirements from roughly 8 to 10 photos up to 20 plus. That was the first time to my knowledge, but they have repeated it since then.

While it is certainly possible CFA has used it before, this is the first I've seen posted on a forum.

Ok. I certainly did miss it. I've seen fees go down but not once the job was assigned.
The whole situation was galling. I'm used to requirements being revised, but if I remember correctly the increase in questions and photos was hitting the 40 to 50 percent mark. It would have been bad enough if the fee had remained the same, but the cut on top of that was too much. Obviously, it worked for them. All the jobs got done and every time they are posted now it's not long before they are taken. For that I'd rather stay home and clean my basementwinking smiley

It actually was not a bad little audit before the changes. I should have known the other shoe would drop, LOL!

As a follow up, CFA responded to my message, looked up the assignment, and it had been changed - albeit slightly (only the time of day was changed as an "option," nothing else). This was the client's decision. The scheduler stated that she learned something new, too - and is honoring the original pay rate for this one time. So, I'll go as scheduled and confirm the pay. Lesson learned - don't take the assignment too far in advance.
CFA is the purple portal and they are notorious in changing the rate (more the type) after asking you in advance if you are available a week from the date to get you committed. Usually they blame this on the client's decision. In the meantime, you are prevented from accepting similar assignments and then you end up doing a less than $10 job. Avoid getting involved with permanent assignments. They get your commitment but they can't keep theirs.
