I received an email to do an Apt. for them, and they are giving a bonus to Gold shoppers. This would be my first job, but it is actually too far for my schedule this week...so, Gold does bring you something.

If memory serves, the ICA states that when a report is determined to be fraudulent, the contractor will be reported to the FTC, FBI and BBB. Additionally, reimbursement of all sorts of fees from the contractor would be required. The ICA is ripe with such stuff.

Three guesses as to whom determines a report to be fraudulent.

I don't like their tone.
Mert, why would the report be fraudulent...they seem to be looking for Gold shoppers, but did not exclude anyone else. I am confused by your post. I am Silver, and still got the email. I think your reading a bit much into this.

Gosh Irene, if you were offered the job without Gold then it looks like Gold is not critical. But Mert's point is that there are companies not worth working for because of the Draconian garbage they choose to put in their ICA. It says something about the attitude and atmosphere of the company that is not good.
Sorry to confuse, Irene.

They offer a few extra dollars for gold certified, but certification is not required. They also pay competitively and offer a bonus for a report submitted within a defined amount of time. All of that is of no interest to me, as I choose not to work with them based on the ICA.
Accepted, and it is always your right to accept or decline. I only posted it because many think Gold has no value (not that this was a great value...smiling smiley, just thought it different and maybe if MSC is looking for Gold, you'll be given better jobs along the way. Please let's not start another certification war, post was not intended for that, thought it valued info.
I am silver certified only.

But it is, of course, notable that you saw ANY company offering more. THAT is indeed unusual.
I didn't post anything to indicate I wanted to start a "certification war". My post was simply aimed at providing information that may be of interest about the company's ICA.
