Please correct me if I'm wrong. Today, I noticed that my usual home improvement store w/ CORI was marked "B" for backup (for October). So just out of curiosity, I clicked on one of the October assignments to see I could schedule a date that far out, and sure enough there were many October dates to select. I've done about 30 CORI assignments and to my recollection, prior to the co. takeover or merge, or whatever it was, we couldn't select a date until 3 days prior to the actual shopping date. Is this something new, or was it just limited to certain shops???? I only check a few of their shops each day - I've long since given up on those rediculous assignments requiring 1,000 pictures of fuel pumps!

I just looked and could only schedule for the first 3 days of October. I think that this has been the case for a while. You are only able to schedule for the beginning of the availability period. So if this were a shop that they wanted done between now and October 31st, you could only schedule for the next three days, but since you can't shop some locations until October 1, you can select dates for those now.
I see, thanks Shelly. I guess I just never saw any that would let me sign up more than 3 days out.
The tests are crazy, only to find out your shop pays 3 to 5.00....who does these shops, and if I take one, does the pay go up? Morally, this is tough for me and leaving the house for 5 bucks, really!!

I posted this on another CoRI thread. The only reason to take the tests is to be prepared in case it's a shop you might eventually want to do and/or ones that stay on the board. Once you self-assign a job that is the fee you will get regardless of other increases. Wait them out. If there are shoppers willing to do the jobs for $3 to $6 (and there are) let them. Later if the job sits or because of rotation you could very well get that job for $10 to $50. Some shopper in my area consistently takes a big box hardware store for $4. Several months ago I got the same job for $20. Gas station audits have a 6 month rotation and have been gone around here at $6 to $10 for months. Those rotations are kicking in and I'm getting them at a much higher rate this month.

Thanks Lisa, I guess at some point those tests will be worth it, but, I won't get bonused until I prove myself, so I guess I'll take a hardware store at 5 bucks, and do a great job. How many do you have to do before the bonus comes?

Don't take that low job!!!!! Actually bonusses have nothing to do with you or your performance. That's what makes CoRI so weird. Schedulers also can't negotiate bonus anymore. During the month the commissions on open jobs just start increasing. Supposedly it's strictly computer-generated and it is based on what the shops have gone for in previous months. You may see one $5 job got to $7 in one location and the exact same client in another location may increase to only $5.50. The more often the jobs are taken at the starting rate, the longer it takes them to increase, but as long as they are not taken they will increase.
It also takes a lot to be on their bad list. After dang near 600 shops I have yet to receive less than a 5 and that's their maximum rating. It takes things like cancellations to lower your rating and then it can affect your ability to self-assign. But here's the trick, scheduler's there are usually very nice and will help as much as they can within some strict scheduling policies. If ever you have to reschedule or cannot do a job do not cancel it through the site. Then your rating will drop by a full point. Talk to a scheduler and if they can change the date they will. If not and you have a legitimate reason to drop the job it can be pulled without affecting your rating.

If you take a low job, the algorithm for bonuses in the following months are messed up. The system goes by what it cost to have the job done last time. There's a blue light in my area that is generally offered at $20 my the end of the first week because it has not been taken at $4 in years.
agreed It is the strangest co around. I would suggest not spendmuing too much time on it.
Irene and Other Forum Buddies - I can't know what's happening in your area, but around here Corporate Research is one of my biggest income sources because of increased fees starting about mid-month and continuing toward the end of the month. If interested, watch the board carefully to catch the increased fees as soon as acceptable to you. I've noticed more than once that fees increase at midnight THEIR time, and the next three day period starts at midnight THEIR time. More better paying fees are available in the boonies, and you may not want to go after them. Best luck with this / Mary

The tests are making me crazy.....one doesn't have the answer of explaination on the pre-test review. Seems like you need to put so much time into it. They have many jobs in my area which is the good thing, but watching for fee to go up is a PITA. I do want to do one at a decent price just to see what it's all about, and I noticed they have gone up from last week...weird, just weird. Why start so low, doesn't make sense. I know, CORI is weird, but the commissions will keep going up. A well known ice cream shop is up to $50.

I'll start by saying that their incredibly low paying jobs are simple and can be done quickly. I think they're a good starter company for new shoppers, in terms of training and shop/report requirements.
I don't shop with them much, but when I do it's a breath of fresh air, as the reports are so easy. I've taken the tests for shops that may be of interest to me when the fee is acceptable, and if the location works into my day. I get their email about raised commissions, but raised commissions are not always emailed. Today, I assigned myself the frame shop, with the fee slightly less than $30 - it's funny how they use cents
Had I not checked their board, I would never have known that the fee had reached that amount. I felt slightly guilty for taking it, as I'm not a 'regular' shopper for them. Most likely, the regulars were waiting for their magic number. Sometimes you get lucky!

You have to wait CoRI out. They are easily my biggest company, and I average around $14 per shop before any paybacks. That would probably be around $17-18 per shop, but I usually take one of the big box hardware shops at around $10, only because I can literally step out the door of my office building, cross the street and I'm there.
I figured it out thanks to Lisa, the shop I checked started at 4.00, and is now 13.00...I think newbies like me get lost at first, takes time, but I'm set, having passed about 6 tests with shops in my area.
