I registered with them, but, they haven't had anything in my area. I have heard good things of them.

I too have heard good things about them over the years and sensed they were one of the respected and respectful companies. Your post, SpyGirl, supports that impression. Now if only the would have shops in my area . . . But then perhaps the reason they are good to work with is that they have not overextended themselves to more than they can reasonably deal with.
I appreciate hearing about this MSC - thanks! In my area I have only seen numerous FF shops (one chain) offered, although there are several grocery shops offered on the other side of the state. However, I noticed payment for those (grocery) shops is in the form of a GC to that store.
If it is a grocery store that I normally shop, a GC is not too bad because it is usually in a small enough denomination I would spend it all and more in a single visit. Routinely I do 'rebates' that provide me with GC for the stores I usually grocery shop both as a customer and a shopper. One use, use it up, throw it away I can deal with. Getting a GC for a place I visit once a month or less is, for me, a nuisance. On a recent wallet clean out I found a small handful of GCs that have $2-3 left on them. THAT to me is just wasteful because on many of them the fees after a period of time eat up the balance.

Actually, they have a very good reputation and I have nothing but good things to say about them (and no, I don't work for them other than a random shopper). I'm not sure why he's begging on here, but I've mentioned them before and there was agreement that they're great to work with.

I was just suspect because his posts are only related to this company and keep including the link to sign up. Since the posts began with asking for opinions and then are glowing testaments to the company, it is only right if he makes his association public.

The only jobs in my area from The Brandt Group are taco joints.
I was responding to raisitup's comment, "If they'll stoop to this I wonder how they can be trusted with anything else?" and knew that if I said something good, that there might be some who would think I must work for them then. So I put it out there right from the get go that I did not, that's all. My experience is that they CAN be trusted, and I only wish they had more work in my area.

Don't worry, in my view having 422 posts doesn't cause the faintest blip on my "sock puppet" radar, you'd have been outed long ago. :-) I don't doubt you've had a good personal experience with them, it seems it's compartmented from their interesting shopper recruiting methodology.

I don't have a lot of Mystery shopping opportunities where I live so my ability to talk about more than just the Brandt Group is non existant. As I have gotten communications from them I have relayed a few things on to the forum specifically about the Alaska opportunities. I am genuinely curious who they stack up with other mystery shopping companies around the country since there isn't a lot of discussion about them on here. I appreciate your concern but that is why I have only discussed them. I am fairly new to mystery shopping and am anxious to learn more.

Just to clear the air on this the mystery shopping in my area is limited and my only experience has been with the Brandt Group. I am fairly new to mystery shopping and I have been curious how TBG stacks up with other companies around the country. The input on here has been helpful and I have seen some great responses. I did post once after receiving some communication from TBG about needing shoppers in Alaska but I have no need or desire to recruit shoppers from them. I appreciate the concern! I am definitely open to learn about other companies as well that any of you have experience with.

Thanks and I hope you realize there was no attempt to discourage you from posting just an unusual situation. Not many, but a few companies have posted without identifying themselves. It sounds like you and Brandt are in the same boat. You don't have many companies working your area and they don't work in many areas!
You may want to let us know your general vicinity. Have you registered with the bigger MSCs which tend to have a national presence? Among them would be Corporate Research International, Market Force and Bare International. I'm sure other posters will be glad to add to this list.

I will do some checking on these companies to see what's available. What other websites are good sources for tips of the trade for mystery shopping? I've been on the MSPA site but are there good bloggers to follow, or how to websites? I've found a lot of blogs but there is a lot of outdated info out there from like 2002. I would assume things have progressed since then.

I'm new to this forum, but already I've found it to be far superior for learning about the business with the "sticky notes" at the beginning of the New Mystery Shopper and company forums. Volition was the first forum I found and the only other one I've experienced first hand. While opinions vary
there is also a lot of information there. They are much pickier about how you post and creating new threads. If you are looking for specific information try using their search function first.

The Brandt Group is a great company to work for. They pay when they say they will but I noticed in my area there is only a few shops. But I shopped a store and Kiosk for the same thing. And I am scheduled to do them 3 more times this month cant wait.
I again went to their site who I registered with last year to find they do not have a working site, have jobs mostly in New York and WA. I upgraded my profile and got an email stating to check the site for jobs. Doesn't he know

I see it's now up and running, however, there are about 5 statesshowing work, and CA is not one of them.
