ah! a fellow Seinfeld fan! Tres bien!

You and I might disagree on some things, but here is something we can agree on. Now, give me back my Marble Rye, you old bag.

Ya all can just call me a weirdo.. I do not and have never watched Seinfeld or Friends. And I never will.

I taught my son to make breadon Christmas Day, it took 2 tries, but he made 4 big loaves of white sandwich bread, 2 in loaf pans and two round loaves on a baking sheet. I think I'm gonna try to get him to make english muffins, there is a new store around the corner than has deal on bulk purchases, one of the things they advertised this week is a 10 lb case of pre-cooked breakfast sausage patties. My mind went directly to egg mcmuffins, so some of those made with fresh homemade english muffins might be popping out of my kitchen soonly..

*takes note that on my drive to Texas to see @drdoggie00, I might need to stop by @Morledzep's to eat breakfast, motivate her son to do more shops, and have her check out that clunking noise on my car.*

Service, I can't do front end work anymore.

Don't worry, The Doc will do all the front end work I need. I just need you worry about the car.

(I'm so sorry, forgive me, I had to get that one out of me.)

In all seriousness, the breakfast sounds good.

@Okie You will probably be too far north this first round - but I am looking to write off as much of my trip as possible. Are there any big 100-mile yard sales around the Dallas Metroplex?
Service,

There used to be a really big flea market in Grand Prairie a Dallas suburb SW of Dallas. If you're serious about it.

I think it was called Trader's Village.

Thank you, I will definitely look into that. I like to source and to do so from places not near me gives me a chance to find other things. Thank you again.
Sorry, when it comes to yard sales, I have no clue. I'll defer to wrosie or someone else in the Dallas area. I believe there are some wholesale stores in an area called Harry Hines. For me, the first thing that came to mind were outlet malls, but you probably have comparable ones at a lower sales tax.

It doesn't have to be yard sales, I source from a lot of places: yard sales, thrift stores, estate sales, junk on the side of the road, retail arbitrage. and more. Around here, and I know in South Carolina and in Florida and I know in Louisiana, there are extended-mile highway sales...some of them go on for 100 miles or more and are normally held over a 4-day weekend. I would love to find something like that along my travels. I want to hit up the Red, White, and Blue thrift store. I know there is one in Houston. There may be one in Dallas. I definitely need to hit up Buc-ee's. The Doc will be working some when I visit, so, I can go out and source which will help me write off part of the expense.
Hm, I'm bad when it comes to these types of finds. But it looks like there is a Red White & Blue Thrift Store in Arlington, TX about 10 miles from Jerry World and the ballpark. There are some Goodwill stores around. The thrift stores and estate sales, I don't know much about. I feel like Reddit may have a good pulse on this.

I'm sure you'll pass by a Buc-ee's on your way. There's one in Melissa, TX, when arriving from the north. The restrooms are pristine!
Oh, he's serious. -lol- I can already tell I'll be taking him to Canton for First Monday.

So, that's Houston and Arlington, which is a good excuse for me to go to SiNaCa and do some glasswork, plus they have Rita's Italian Ice up there. The huge Bucee's are along 35 and 45, so those are doable.

I have a feeling I'll come down with a nasty cold and require a couple of days away from work to recuperate. -coughs-

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown

I'll think of you two by spirit!

You never know, we may make it up your way. A sooner visit will likely be a shorter visit. A later visit will likely be a few days longer. There are pros and cons to both. My biggest area of concern, and what would prevent me from visiting altogether, will be my sister's health and our mom's overall wellbeing.

My sister is starting the intake process to get on a transplant list in a few weeks. I am tentatively her back-up caretaker, with my BIL being her primary caretaker. Because she would have to move several hours away for up to 3 months in order to have the transplant, there are some real questions whether I can do that, even on a temporary basis. We don't know how mom will be doing a year or more from now for starters. I'm nervous about leaving her all night right now, but I think she would be fine for 3 to 5 days, maybe longer if I can round up one of these grandkids to actually give a damn about something other than TikTok. My biggest concern about being a back-up caretaker is that should something drastic happen to my BIL, it would move me into the primary position and we'd have a real problem then. I told her tonight that I think she needs more than two people to be caretakers. Even if my BIL is the primary and he never catches a cold, I'm sure at some point over the 3-month period he would want a break. He certainly will need a mental break for a day or two every month, I think. There are a lot of unknown questions with this, and we won't know much until she starts this early process later in January.

Oh don't worry about it. I was sort of kidding. You keep doing what you have to keep doing. I hope your sister gets what she needs.
