Knee deep in Ozark, playing on Netflix. My second time. It always amazes me how you can still find or notice things for the first time but the second time around.

That's how I felt when re-watching Donnie Darko after reading some stuff online.

Mystery in Swing (1940)

I re-watched Tin Man again. It's been a few years, and I really like Alan Cumming. I know there is a tv series to go with it, but I haven't found it again, yet. I'm not sure I ever watched all of the series when it first came out, I was working second shift and wasn't good at keeping track of the shows I watched from one week to the next on streaming.

Football started this weekend, so for the next few months Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays (I hope), will be filled. And most of the regular broadcast tv series will be starting again next week. I get to watch everything the day after it airs, streaming on the tablet, the way this room is set up, it's really hard to watch tv unless I'm laying down, and I don't like watching tv while I'm dozing.

Dowton Abby is excellent. Plenty of seasons to keep you busy binging. Because you will binge after you start.

Heartland another binge worthy show if you enjoy family values.

I love British TV shows. I usually watch either their crime/detective/police procedurals or their period dramas.

I have all six seasons of Downton on DVD and have watched each one, oh about 100 times. I've spotted a number of bloopers and incontinuity. Went to see both movies on their opening days. Love it! The Brits know how to do period drama. Right now I'm binge-watching Ashes to Ashes on BritBox. It's the sequel to Life on Mars (on my list below). I used to borrow DVDs from the library but I've recently subscribed to BritBox.

Haha! The thing is, the Brits don't always produce long seasons of a TV series. In the US a season is traditionally at least 13 episodes, but in the UK, it might only be 4 or 6 episodes until the show gets more popular. Then maybe they'll produce 8 to 10 episodes in a season (which they just call a series and give it a number). So you can see a lot more British shows in a shorter amount of time. I've seen lots more than what I listed, but those are the best I can think of right now.

Does it really matter how many episodes if its excellent entertainment?

Mrs. Brown's Boys has 14 seasons.

Peaky Blinders has 6 seasons.

And stop talking out of your ass if you don't know what you're talking about.

Neither series has only 4-5 episodes per season.

There are quite a lot of British tv shows on my list that only released 4 to 8 episodes in a season/series. I wasn't referring to Peaky Blinders or Mrs. Brown's Boys, both of which I have not seen.

I do not know who it is you think was attacking or "slamming" you. I don't understand where or how you felt put down or insulted. I did not see any comments that were defaming anyone and I don't know why you felt you had to send me a private message about it.

Once upon a time, there was a British sci fi tv series that was kind of strange. There was a power surge or some kind of strange anomaly and everyone in the series got powers, all of them different. and most were strange and mostly useless powers. There was one person who could steal or trade other folks' body parts, so she stole a guy's penis. And there was a guy or a group of folks that these folks with the new powers were afraid of, and hid their powers from. I think it was a group of kids in a juvenile correction facility or something like that. I had a blast watching it, but I don't remember the name. I watched two or three seasons of it. But then it didn't come on at the time that I had been watching it on BBC America, and I promptly forgot about it. If I could find it again I'd probably watch every show from the beginning at least 2 more times.

Update: You made me remember it, so I searched and found it!!! It was called Misfits. Aired from November 2009 to December 2013. Now I need to find a way to watch it or purchase it..

Misfits is a British science fiction comedy-drama television show, on E4, about a group of young offenders sentenced to work in a community service programme, where they obtain supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm. The show premiered on 12 November 2009 and concluded on 11 December 2013 in its fifth series.

Lately, I've only been watching movies in theaters. It helps in that it limits myself, but more importantly get out the house for a while.

I liked Strange Darling. It's a little gory with some suspense, if you like that. It was released in Austin, TX last year, but now showing in some theaters.

Beetlejuice sequel came out. I never watched the original, but if you watched it, you may enjoy it. I thought it wasn't bad.

You may enjoy Reagan. I haven't watched it, and it's not for me personally. Lately, my brain already hurts from work. On one platform, the ratings are low, but on another platform, it's high.

The Joker sequel is set to release on 10/4. I remember watching a late night showing of The Batman on the weekend it first released, and may do the same again.

Recommending a process... Perhaps you will find something you like... Search for 'similar to' a movie that you like, or for additional movies that feature a star that you like, or just search genres... Most of all, have fun!

I have Netflix and they give me recommendations...I suspect my tastes are narrow when it comes to movies/shows...
I did notice that Amazon Prime Video has changed their feature "buttons" no more new or newly released....
that says something.

Tubi still shows 'leaving soon' and 'recently added' features... Tubi might still have a flick called one hour late (or something like that) and someday the app on my phone might show me the same browsing list that i can find on the large monitor...

Going over this thread, I want to say thanks everyone for sharing what you watch and how you watch it. Watched a late night showing of Speak No Evil in theater. I would recommend. One of those movies where you don't quite know where it's going until it does and how it will end.

Can anyone describe Peaky Blinders for me? the premise, the type of series? etc.

Just passing along another recommendation someone just gave me.....The Americans? Apparently, when you run out of current series, you go back and revisit older ones and looks like this one is from the last decade.

As a side note, from about 1983-2003, I watched almost no television lol - so I lack common knowledge lol...
