Receipt Scanning Rebate Apps

I know this has been touched on in other threads, but I did a couple cursory searches and couldn't find those threads.

I know there are several that are gas station related, I'm interested in the general grocery, liquor store, convenience store, restaurant etc type Apps.

So what are the best Apps where you scan your receipts from all your purchases and get a rebate?

Are the rebates based on the stores you are shopping at or the items/brands you are purchasing?

If you shop at Dollar Store, Target, Walmart, Aldis etc do they even work? Or do you have to shop at the "name brand" stores?

And after registering your personal information on these Apps, what are the repercussions from the App selling your personal shopping preferences?

I use CoinOut, Fetch, ReceiptPal, Pogo and Merryfield to scan any receipt. I also use Ibotta and Shopmium - you have to select specific offers for them. I don't see any particular repercussions. Let me know if you want referrals for any as we would both earn something.
Can you scan the same receipt into all of the different apps and get benefits or the offers determine which one you use?

How soon do you have to scan, same day or you do them all once a week?

I think Fetch was the one I remember being mentioned.

And I do realize you probably get pennies on the dollar.

I use fetch. They often have products I use that they give bonuses for. So sometimes my receipt is worth 2 or 3 thousand points or more. Each receipt is worth 25 points but if you purchase certain items they have on the list, they can be worth a whole lot more. I use my points for food places like Panera. If I can find a mystery shop for a food place and I am spending the day doing shops, i use my gift cards. It's a win for me.
wrosie - I put a list in the thread here:

coupons.com has been phased out and is owned by shopmium now.

I shop at aldi, walmart, family dollar, dollar general, etc. Some of the apps don't give a ton back, like 2 or 3 cents per receipt, but I do scan each receipt into multiple apps. They can take a while to add up, but I recently cashed out from receiptpal for $50 in amazon, coinout for $25 paypal, shopkick for $25 paypal.

Most apps will accept a receipt within 7-14 days of purchase. After that, it is "too old"

You don't get much per receipt, but you can scan the same receipt across multiple apps. I save them up and do them in one go normally when I'm watching TV or something so it's not a total waste of time. It's a bit time consuming but it does add up. Some of them give you bonuses too.
all the ones i have used require name brand items that are much more expensive than generic/store brands even with the cash back rewards points. if you have people in your life demanding name brands or you buy them anyway then its worth it. I dont.

the ones that take every receipt regardless are very little payment for the work required. there are many other things that pay much more for less effort. videos and ad clicks pay more.

The only one I use is Ibotta. I dont buy a whole lot of name brand items however once in a while they have a deal with several dollars on cash back. I have used the one for cottage cheese a lot where the 16 ounce one is $1.49 at the store and I get $1 back making it .49. I also found an item with several dollars more of cash back then i actually paid for the item twice when it was sitting on the reduced price rack at the grocery.
I think this topic came up in a more recent thread. I use Coin Out, Fetch, Receipt Pal, Receipt Hog, Receipt Jar, Ibotta, Rakuten (formerly ebates), and Mr. Rebates. The last two are not receipt apps, but you do get cash back from shopping online on certain websites (e.g. Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.). A lot of times for those I'll order online and pick-up in store.

The key is to game the system. If you only use one app, probably not really worth the time. Combined, however, you can make some decent money over the long-haul. I am getting ready to cash out of everything. When I do, I'll have over $500 in cash and/or gift cards, depending on the app or what I choose. I do what @chrismcmillon does and scan while watching TV. I normally scan once per week. If I am really busy with shops or other things, I may miss. And that's okay. This is just some extra money that is easy to earn. You can scan the same receipt across multiple apps. You can also connect your email and store accounts to get credit for online purchases. Some people are not comfortable with this, but I figure they are watching anyway, so might as well get something in return for it.

There is the truth.
Then there is the right thing to say.
