Can warranty or insurance cover that? Can you get a Groupon-- or something-- for a better price for auto glass replacement? Plastic works, but it might be noisy or come loose. Driving long distances in a wind tunnel grates after awhile... Could you park the car and do some at-home phone or internet shops? You would have no out of pocket costs and even small fees would add up to the amount you might have to pay for the auto glass job. Just a thought. You will find just the right solution.

i took two hundred dollars of bill money to (225) out of my social security check and drove to Atlanta because it was 225 there and 400 here (1 hour each way). But now I have to play makeup with the bills. (I paid 200 dollars worth of bills on the 9th's payroll that should have been paid on the first. Next week I'll pay the bills that should have been paid on the 9th etc...
I take it the vehicle insurance company did not have a better deal with Satellite or another company? So sorry to hear about that.

I would suggest a piece of plexiglass cut to fit and tape into place. I've done this twice. There is essentially no wind noise. If you use clear packaging tape, its not that noticable and visibility isn't affected. It's not as secure (from breakins) as real glass, but you might not even need to replace the glass. Its been a few (probably 25!) but the plexiglass wasn't expensive (maybe $10?). You should be able to find a small sheet at any hardware store.
I would have had it fixed too.

I think you made the right choice. Keep your eyes out for a few one off high paying shops and get back on track with a little extra work this month. Do a few you wouldn't normally do -- you should be able to make it up in no time. Best wishes to you!

Thank you for your positive attitude. Yes, I've already begun that process as well. I applied for a 75 senior home mystery shop and assigned a 35 storage shop. IPSOS just waits so long to add the bonuses. Next month we will all busy with the blue and white gas stations with a red and blue Indian symbol that the round ends with June so I'm very hopeful...
I hate "essay" shops. I just can't do them in 30-45 minutes no matter how hard I try. I end up spending 4-5 hours on the report. (I don't mind them just don't like typing the report), I wish I could do video shops. If I could afford video equipment and a drone I think my business would make a lot more money even in the "cheap" South.
You might check with your insurance company, some company's glass damage deductibles can be lower than the full deductible amount.
Some insurance companies have a broken glass addendum.

I, unfortunately, had a windshield break about a month ago. I got it fixed right away and it was about $340. I actually had to get it replaced a few years ago and it was less than $200 but the labor and costs have changed.
I would recommend checking out a junkyard or calling around a bit. Driving with plastic for a month or two is probably ok but it would still be a priority for me. I don't like my vehicle to have any conspicuous things like that, I want to keep a low profile.

One of my vehicles is over 25 years old. I had a heavy branch fall onto the rear window, shattering it. Fortunately, the frame was undamaged. I found a replacement window at a pull-a-part type place that was $60, and an additional $20, for them to install it. Way better than the $300, average I had been quoted by a few places. I park all vehicles in the garage now.
