Does anyone remember libraries? grinning smiley

We have a good library system in the rural middle of nowhere. Love it!

What about you? Thoughts? Memories? Active library patrons? smiling smiley

Librarian here! Just returned from a conference of all types of Librarians, and brought back tons of free books for my very excited readers. I love that you have a thriving system in your area! We do too, and it's a fantastic place to spend every day. smiling smiley
When everyone was stocking up on TP March 2020 I was at the library stocking up on books to read during the lockdown. My town has a great library system with childrens activities, adult lectures, ability to borrow books from all over Illinois, plus digital books. Husband & I have driven across the country with music DVDs borrowed from the library. And these services are just what I can list off the top of my head.
My big city library provides among many other things free access to the New York Times (2-3 days at a time but it takes a second to set it up each time)digital, free entry tickets to some expensive venues around the county such as Art and all other types of museums, and many other less known perks. Take a moment to check out the website from your local library and you may find wonderful things you never imagined you would. The county and city libraries also have different things to offer and you may be able to join both where you live.
We love our library. My kids are 21 and 17 and they still utilize the programs, the books, and the many resources they have. My son is very into art and they recently had an art show that they opened up to basically anyone that wanted to enter, your pieces just had to be approved. He had 4 pieces in their show. I always brought them as kids, they have so many activities for kids to do there and they have an outside area where they learn about nature by doing hands on tasks. Cannot say enough good things about the library. My son actually just applied for a summer job there.

I have received museum tickets, video game rentals, taken classes, so much more. Libraries are fantastic.
