Each year, my younger son Justin plays an elaborate prank on someone. He starts laying the groundwork days before, so the "target" doesn't realize they're about to become a "victim".
(Synopsis)
One year he notified his manager (who had been one of his targets in the past) that he was going to be undergoing a sleep study, to address his sleep apnea on March 31st.
The morning after the sleep study, Justin called work and asked Rob, one of his co-conspirators, to transfer him to the manager. Rob called the manager and said he had Justin on the phone and that he sounded really bad. He added, "He said something about an accident."
His manager was really concerned and immediately took Justin's call, "Justin!!! What happened??? Are you okay???"
Sounding very sickly and apparently unable to breathe through his nose, Justin replied, "I'm not real sure; I just remember falling asleep and waking up with cotton plugs in my nose."
The manager continued to express her sincere concern and when Justin could no longer stifle his laughter, he admitted this was an April's Fool joke. His manager, who was well-known for her inappropriate language (and sense of humor), yelled "FU Justin!" and hung up.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
