mystery-to-me: I rolled my eyes when I started this book that had been recommended. When I saw the time period (middle ages) I thought I will give it 50 pages, as it is a LONG book. I was hooked immediately and really, really enjoyed this, my first Follett book.
I tried listening to "Where the Crawdads Sing." The narrator's voice grated my nerves. I couldn't get past the first few chapters.

I agree, she emphasizes the wrong phrases or something. I've taken so long to read it, so, when the audio version came available from the library I decided to listen. Listening at slightly faster pace while driving. When I catch up, I'll read the rest of the book.
I am reading The Boy in The Striped Pajamas, by
John Boyne.
Caught my interest right at the start.
I'm reading a collection of short stories called Mi Tierra, Mi Pueblo, Mi Gente by John Daly. It's for learners of intermediate level Spanish, written to help improve one's ability to read and understand the language.
