Is there a way to save passwords for apps?

Browsers can save website passwords but will not save app passwords because they are not accessed via a browser. I have been Googling and cannot find an answer. I am using android and Firefox. There's gotta be a better way than resetting every time I have to sign in. One app won't let me choose a new password that resembles past passwords and I am running out of ideas.

Membership is free. Simply choose your username, type in your email address, and choose a password. You immediately get full access to the forum.

My apps give me the option to save passwords automatically. This has been the case with all of my Android phones. Maybe you have that feature turned off.

Swipe down from the top and tap Settings.

Google>>Autofill >> Autofill with Google. Make sure this is enabled.

Tap Passwords then the gear button at the top. Enable Offer to Save Passwords.

Wow! Thank you, Honny. That's scary, though. I never even knew that Google knows 216 passwords of mine since I have not directly managed internet via Google. I did try Chrome. Once. Briefly. Maybe that's how Google got all the info I was deliberately trying to keep it away from? Apps are not saved, though, such as MarketForce EyesOn and Racetrac which keeps signing me out. Also, it appears that I cannot alter or delete any of the Google-saved logins without creating a screen lock first. I don't want that either. This has been a very interesting adventure.

Yes, for security reasons, if you want your passwords autofilled, you have to have a lock on your phone.

You don't, after all, want someone finding your phone and doing a report for you.

It makes sense but I'm too lazy for that extra step every time I want to use the phone. What is so disturbing is that I have spent a lot of time and effort to deny Google permissions and keep it away from my personal stuff yet it had all my passwords and I didn't even know. Guess I'm a whole lot less savvy than I thought.

I didn't know that the lock screen was optional. My Samsungs allowed me to keep my phone unlocked if my FitBit was near the phone. My new LG doesn't have that option.

Maybe your desktop Chrome imported your credentials from desktop FireFox.
