Well first night I set poor kitty up in the house our cat first used when he moved himself over here. But that was summer.
I put a pad and a big towel for a bed. And covered the front with a rug. It had already used the cat door into our garage so that was no problem. It inhaled the food. I gave small amounts at first. Now that seems to have leveled off.
We put a litter box for our cat into the garage and shut him in for that night.
So, one unhappy kitty shut in and one shut out.
Our cat is inside and outside the house all day. He was on edge and pacing. Outside he was spraying everywhere and harrassing the poor kitty.
Of course the water was a block of ice in the morning. So put a bed and food/water in the shop and opened up the cat door.
Our cat was not happy! He started harrassing kitty. I went to bed. At 3am they were each in their bed. I had left the little house set up in case poor kitty got chased out.
It is obviously an abandoned pet. So friendly and used to people and wanting in the house. We are too far from any other houses for it to have wandered.
