What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I would be dead if I had to survive growing my own food. The cat too.

When I bought my house, I grew, or tried to grow, tomatoes, peppers, squash, greens and other herbs and veggies. It was an epic fail. My Roma tomatos were the size of quarters. The basil was the size of a penny.

Well, I could grow, forage and preserve all my food, not just some of it. I'd be a vegetarian if I had to do depend on my own skills. LoL

Our last summer's garden had a lot of failures. Still some food though. There's always next year.

Since we bought the house last year, we grew basil, tomatoes, and radishes. We had tons of basil and tomatoes the whole summer and the radishes took some time but we were able to enjoy them at the brink of Fall.
I'm relaxing, reading The Nightengale by Kristan Hannah for book club.

Such a depressing story. I'm done with WW2!

Laundry, housework are a break from this story.

Still trying to get Madame (Sir)-Hiss-a-Lot to let me get close.

A couple weeks of no snow and I finally got the packed snow off the driveway. Ready for fresh snow!

I was in no mood to sub today. Maybe it was the Daylight Savings or just the amount of cooking I did yesterday. I canceled today's job and off tomorrow too since it is a half day.
Sipping tea and watching TV.
I made some beef short ribs yesterday. They came out so tough, they were inedible. I called Chef Mom and she told me to cook them longer. Four hours later, they are delicious!

I'm glad the beef ribs worked out! HonnyBrown.
Mum, I turned down work today. But I'm old, I need to be semi-retired.
Got rid of a bunch of school papers, need to get rid more. I never use my own stuff when I'm subbing, it seems.

Organized other papers for taxes.

Snow removal.

I took a nap after work. The cat took a nap on my back. I can't move.

A perfect day. Housework, snow removal, exercise and nice soak in tub for AM. Sub in kindergarten for pm at a nearby school.

Sounds lovely @BarefootBliss

Housework. Why is my house so dusty? Even in the winter

Picked Chokecherries. Not sure what they would be called in the US. Hubby like to make wine, I like to make syrup. Pretty cool here and drizzly.

We call them chokecherries here in the US also. My husband and I pick them every year. I like to make jelly and syrup as well. Do you have wild plums over there? We have oodles and oodles of them along the gravel roads. They are about three times the size of a choke cherry so you don’t have to pick me as many to make your jellies.
Tis the season for Spring Break. I have a couple of internet shops that will be completed by Tuesday. It will be mostly cooking, cleaning, and TV.
@misspocos75
I have never seen wild plums here in central AB. Hubby grew up finding them in Southern Manitoba.

We have Saskatoon berries (might be called service berries) hazelnuts, gooseberries, pin cherries, strawberries and raspberries that grow wild. Blue berries too, but I don't find them often.

Love my foraging. #eatlocal

Where I live, what we call chokeberries or Aronia berries grow wild or can be cultivated (I think).
They're incredibly healthy.
Tasty too says Lucy.
I cleaned the dryer vent and applied outdoor insect barrier along the perimeter of the house.

I think I need to work at getting more interesting "things I did today" to share. Yes, let me work on that...
Getting stuff done is always interesting.@maverick1

Today I plan to get a lot done as tomorrow we're heading skiing for a couple of days. (insert celebration emojis)

My job at FedEx doesn't pay well. I thought I had an emergency and didn't have enough in my accounts to cover it. Out of desperation, I started looking at payday loans.

@BarefootBliss you sent me down a rabbit hole reading about Aronia berries.
Seems like Chokecherries would be also healthy, but not as much info about them.

Ah, skiiing...would love to get out again. I always had that feeling of wanting to head to a nice pub after a day of skiing. Found out I was always fully exhausted at the end of the day and fell asleep in front of the TV in the condo living room. Whenever we could, we tried to get ski-in, ski-out to maximize the day's runs.
Honny, seems like there might be other sources you could turn to with lower interest rates? even a cash advance should be lower (on your credit card)....
hope things improve soon.
@maverick1
No need to maximize runs today. We were so tired at lunch time we chose a restaurant at the hill based on not having to climb stairs in our ski boots or climb a hill to our preferred spot. LOL Not in shape for skiing. Wow!

We own a holiday Condo outside of the National Park (makes money while we sleep)

So, we always stay there.

I didn't do it. Luckily, I found other options.

Glad you found a better solution.

Today? we're crossing over from Georgia to Florida...and it sometimes does feel like another country lol.
Headed to our favorite town in the whole state....well maybe second favorite.
Looking forward to a swim later on today and a cold one or two....finally staying somewhere for more than one night.
Now, off for some iced coffee.
Wondering if my license plates will flag us as trouble HAHAHAHA.
"...Wondering if my license plates will flag us as trouble..."

Not as much as driving well below the speed limit, with your turn signal, while you look at the road from UNDER the top of the steering wheel...HAHAHAHA

Fun fact: Did you know, iced coffee is outselling hot coffee, with cold beverages accounting for a significant portion of coffee sales, especially at major chains like Starbucks, where they now make up a majority of beverage sales.
I am not surprised by the iced coffee....it's become the thing lol.
Funny enough, I remember where I had my first one ever and it was a novelty then.
The Balduccis shop on the Grand Concourse of Grand Central Station smiling smiley
It was a hot summer and people were scarfing them...such a big deal for everyone at the time.
I bet Balduccis was making a killing. They always did because they were so good....at everything.
