What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

To the city for monthly lunch with my friends I met in 1967 in grade 7!
But first, the dentist.

Getting into a good groove now and making progress with work. Should have started much earlier on some things that have been sitting around, but it's moving along. When taking breaks, been cleaning, organizing, and throwing stuff away.
Sweated over making a decision about my health insurance plan - to stay or to switch- for the coming year....so many details.
Helped my family plan the holiday meal for next week.
Got a haircut from a great new stylist - best stylist I've found in years. Walking around getting compliments is a mood boost lol.
Afterwards, friend & I went for dinner at a Vietnamese place. Food was wonderful
Another friend called from Belgium to ask about going to a concert....just a matter of where lol.
Was a nice day...except for dealing with insurance lol.
Grade three. An hour's drive from home. Hoping to head for home before the snow starts.

@Shop-et-al are you still part of our little group?

Worked of course. Some things never change. DDs are about to start cooking and baking for a Friendsgiving event they are attending tomorrow. In my bedroom and will not come out until tomorrow morning.
Our immediate family celebrated Thanksgiving earlier with our dad to not overstimulate him. Have a large family of siblings where everyone has their own family. Planning to have Thanksgiving meal with girlfriend's immediate family this year.
One of my friends got married today. She looked so beautiful!

Shoveled for over an hour. Fitbit counted it as a walk, so that's good.
Hubby is still out there, so I better keep busy inside.
Subbing in grade 4 yesterday and today. Mixture of classes tomorrow, Grade 2 Thursday, Kindergarten Friday.
Thursday was off but someone asked who I just couldn't say no to. Regretting it already. Not mystery shopping even if I'm driving right past!
I got a job as a package handler at FedEx. Today was orientation. I found out that we can apply for other jobs any time. I will apply for a Project Manager position this weekend.

Today? I am baking for tomorrow's crowd at our family gathering.
pecan pie
banana bread

and laundry and packing for the trip....with what we have planned....expecting a nice long weekend.
Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to all my mystery friends lol smiling smiley
I baked buns yesterday and tomorrow making biscotti. Watching a movie or two on Netflix. Decorated the tree yesterday, put out the inflatable Santa out in the yard and lights. Went to Ikea today and got a bedside table. We had one and never thought of getting two. I used my birthday coupon they sent me.
Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!!
Loving this weekend! My Mom and DDs crafted beautiful Victorian Christmas ornaments with special recipients in mind. My niece's baby shower is tomorrow. :-)
relaxing after a whirlwind of days....finally back home to peace and quiet...it's nice and we still have technology for connection - my siblings love to text me. lol
So many memories we created these past few days...wow, interesting...places, stories, fun, contrast, differences, similarities.
Unpacking it all, literally and figuratively
My amazing, talented Mama created a dozen beautiful centerpieces for my niece's baby shower with 3 of her sous crafters; not us :-(.. She did the favors too. Pink, hand crafted soap in baby teddy bear, moon and stars mold. Oh, so beautiful. Spent today in my PJs. I asked my DDs to be like their beloved Grandmother.. They told me always and forever Thank you for reading my joy.
Turned down work at three schools. Trying to be semi-retired and worked every day last week. Anyway, it makes me feel like I better be productive at home.

Exercise for my twisted neck muscle(that's what it feels like). Miranda Esmonde-White has a really helpful stretch program on TV. Ferls a lot better.
Clean, unclutter and organize house. Put up a few Christmas decorations.
Some shopping online. Glad I can stay home.
Send a Birthday Card, also online. Make some phone calls.
so much online shopping today that my eyes are ready to bleed.
Making up for lost time...so many stashes I needed to replenish...did that today.
On a positive note, I think this is the least amount of shopping I've done from Black Friday to Cyber Monday in a long time!
Awwww...BFB, so are YOU!!!

Madetoshop - you are a blessing to come across, even if only online.
Re: Holiday shopping. I am only purchasing experiences and consumables for the holiday season with exception of holiday PJs sans DH. He's a party pooper, LOL. Cash will be my go to. I will fill the stockings with consumables and socks.

My late mother emphasized consumables only lol....to quote "if I can't eat or wear it, I don't want it" LOL.

I don't like clutter, so I tend to agree.....but I do have a tiny bit of an Imelda Marcos "problem".
Drove around looking for Snowy Owls. Finally saw one. So pretty. We've usually seen them before now.

Made Gingerbread dough, with extra ginger and more chopped up ginger. Baked two and they're so good.

Going to form the rest and freeze. If we have a Christmas visitor I'm prepared. And I won't eat them all in the meantime!

Going to make shortbread and not much else.
My little cat went outside and returned with her white fur filthy. The job at FedEx is brutal. I go in at 1am and move heavy boxes.
