What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Went out for a New Year's Eve lunch. Despite having a chicken and waffles dish with enough fried chicken to feed a family of four the waitress talked me into a slice of pie with ice cream for dessert. I'm trying to decide if or when dinner will happen.

I used an extraction pump to evacuate transmission fluid from our truck without removing the pan. I refilled with new fluid matching the amount extracted. Do this a few times over several months and all the trans fluid would be replaced. It's mess free extracting from the dipstick tube. On the last extraction, I'll drop the pan, replace the filter and gasket and refill the amount extracted again. New year, new trans fluid. smiling smiley
We had friends yesterday for dinner. So all leftovers were used for brunch and then it was grocery shopping. Costco, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and the local store.
Making air-fried rolls for the evening and watching Monk again!
Happy New Year everyone!!

I wish my husband would eat Chinese! Year and years ago, before I knew him, he contracted Hepatitis from eating Chinese food at some restaurant in NYC. From then on...nope...no Chinese food for him!

My GPS hates me. The feeling is mutual.

My kitchen sink was backed up pretty bad. I got an industrial strength drain opener from the hardware store. I hope it works. I can't clean my kitchen with a nasty sink.

An Aqua Zumba class at the gym. Although he's still wearing a boot, Hubby can now put a little weight on his broken ankle. Part of his physical therapy plan is to use a recumbent bike, so he came with me and reactivated his membership.

In the afternoon I went to the hardware store and purchased the first set of materials to reconfigure one of the spare bedroom closets. Came home and started figuring out where the studs are in anticipation of installing the header and uprights that will support brackets and shelves.

Grade one for Thursday and Today. Was in bed before 8 and now at midnight I'm ready to start my day! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I missed the 545am Spin class. I couldn't get out of bed.

@prince..schools in Canada are open already? Ours open on Monday though I don't have a job yet. How do you start your day at midnight is the question?
Worked, DH picked Mom up. Dinner prepared and ready by my sous chefs. Everyone home tonight, fed, warm and happy. We ladies are crushing over our local weatherman So dapper and charming, lol.
Cycling class at the gym. Trip to the hardware store for shelving and shelf brackets. Installation of purchased materials.

School calendars vary by school division. My Grandson goes back Monday.
In Alberta everyone gets 2 weeks.

As for starting my day, I get up for a while then try to sleep. Got a big headache by the middle of the school day.

Making another effort in the June's Journey game. Do not buy anything with real money and suppose I get what I pay for when the game always reverts to the image of June screen between tasks instead of flowing to my next possible or chosen activity. Waiting now for another day to pass and two more pieces of clutter to be constructed so that I may collect more pink (flowers?) and proceed to the next scene. Would prefer to play the scenes uninterruptedly and eventually choose a few things for my island. It looked spacious when I arrived...

Took down and stowed the Christmas decorations until next year. It always takes me a few days to get used to the empty space where the tree used to be.

Keeping ours up for another week or so because one son & family have been sick a good bit of Dec and early January. So we're supposed to have our Christmas with them (finally) this coming Thursday for a few days. So we shall see. Then I told hubby that I *WILL* find space somewhere in the house to stow the decorations this year so that we don't have to keep carrying the totes up from the shed anymore. Getting too old for that, haha!
Took our tree down also. It really is empty @KathyG
.
@guysmom I found space in an upstairs cupboard for the box of Christmas dishes. Save at least carrying that box on the stairs.
Vertical storage. Comes in all shapes, styles, and colors and can be configured for decorations and other stuff. Handy for anyone who likes things nearby instead of schlepping. Later: errands and house tasks.

eta: saw the Mary Lou Retton interview. She is in her way! Huzzah!

In addition to the box for the tree there are four plastic crates in total-one for ornaments, one for lights (which we don't use any more and I should get rid of) and two for decorations. They all stack nicely along one side of the storage unit.

(When we had a large house there were probably a dozen crates, which stacked in the closet under the basement steps. It was like a puzzle to fit them all in.)

We don't have a basement, and our closets are about FULL! But I **WILL** find a way to store those Christmas decorations in-house and out of sight!
I finished renovating one of the two closets in our spare bedroom. Hubby requested I do the other one too, so today I emptied it, removed the hardware, and painted the walls. Went to the hardware store to purchase the horizontal track and vertical supports.

Mum and dad finally sold and vacated their 45 year old house and moved to another city. All my aunts and uncles were teary-eyed as dad said. The good thing about their move is they now have an apartment in the same building as my sister. So they will be just 12 floors apart. With age and my dad's knee surgery in Feb, all of us were worried about them. After he started walking back again, mum was adamant they move either closer to my older sis or my younger one. I was out of the question clearly being in USsmiling smiley
Mum gave a video-tour of the apartment and it looked stunning.

Pretty much house-bound here. Very heavy rain; local roads flooded, wind gusts of 40+ MPH, schools closing early due to flooded roads. I will pay bills, tidy kitchen; prep some items for dinner, play computer games and take a nap.

Same here in northwest SC, except they called off schools yesterday for today, which was wise. So, washing clothes, made homemade shake and bake, going to cook chili later. We've already had 4"of rain in about 12 hrs, with another 2-3 expected in some areas. Good day for ducks and fish!
Here the high wind prediction is gusts up to 60 MPH now. Any duck might be blown right out of the sky.
