I agree!

There is a gig for GPS displays. I like those gigs, but they are not near me now. An old GPS directed us away from a gig site. We followed along just for giggles, even though we knew the way. At first, we thought it might be dyslexic and reversing directions. Anywaaaayyyyy..... the recent rain had become snow, and I needed today for that day to wait for snow to melt. I still am not comfortable walking on slick surfaces, even though I have the butt ugly shoes I mean the useful soles on shoes. For the next few days, I will have errands and practice in public in the ugly shoes.

Driving 100 miles round trip to visit my failing mother....not many days left for her.
My sister and I are bringing her homemade banana bread and pumpkin pie....and her favorite: McDonalds large diet Coke with lots of ice.

I love browsing their catalog. I bought my chandelier from them.

In the hunt for a new lamp. The one I have is funky and from four or five design plans ago. And, it doesn't work and would probably break if I tried a diy repair. Let there be light!

I volunteered at the food bank this morning. The volunteers who make breakfast were back. Everyone was happy to see them.

We're leaving tomorrow morning for a leaf viewing trip to northern Illinois. Today I woke up knowing I had to fit in a couple day's worth of cleaning and organizing....and then Hubby announces he wants to check out an Octoberfest event a couple of suburbs over! It will be fun but make the day even more stressful.

As it turns out the day took a 180 degree turn from my plans. The Octoberfest was so much fun we stayed for three hours, then killed time before going to a different church for Mass. After that we walked a block to a dive-ish restaurant that served fantastic Italian Beef and Gyro sandwiches...along with the best baklava I've had in years!

Hah! A GPS display gig is available near me, and I applied for it. Perhaps they will assign me to it. Perfect day. T-shirt/light fleece. Sunny. Halfway golden streets, thanks to trees. Only one tiny icy patch in my walking path. Was soooooo satisfying to remain upright and hear the faint crunch of crusty snow beneath my ugly shoes. Did not faint at the absurd cost of groceries. One of my teams is already ahead by 14 points to zip. Yes! The other team app-y thingy, the one with the moving football and a few stats, is not showing on the phone yet-- they must be playing in the left coast time zone. ?

A great visit to a local farm yesterday. Haunted house, corn maze, hayrides, apple cider, pumpkin patch, pig races, square dancing and lamb feeding. The fall foliage and colors were amazing as usual. Today, cooking, cleaning, laundry and some relaxation. It's a beautiful Sunday!
Another gorgeous day here. Bright blue sky, a possible wisp of thin cotton cloud way off yonder, and the last of the bright red leaves behind my place. Was heartened by some of the responses to Mary Lou Retton's situation. "... we are here to help." This is some of the loveliness in the world today.

Making a LARGE batch of black bean chili con carne. Will have some for supper, chill the rest and then freeze most of it in meal-sized batches tomorrow.

Today I'm going to shop a few local thrift stores and see if anything strikes my fancy. Tuesday is Seniors Day, with all the local thrifts offering 25% off!
Our local thrifts do not have senior days and other opportunities. OTOH, they have a clear every-day pricing system, which is convenient. I have yet to get to a thrift store because I added gigs. There is a window of opportunity before it gets cold again and I must have sweaters and warm things.

Did well at thrift: seven garments for thirty two bucks. I will have to go back tomorrow for housewares.

Rolled in from a five-day trip. Our home base was Galena Illinois, but one day we drove into Iowa to see the Field of Dreams field and film set. Another day we drove into Wisconsin and poked around a small town. On the way up and back we tried to stay off the interstates as much as possible.

You did better than I did! Went to three thrifts looking for dresses and/or polo shirts...found nothing in polo shirts. The dresses were 95% summery, sleeveless, too shear, too short or something else. Oh well. I'll try some other thrifts next time.
Oh! Dresses! The really long wedding dresses with abundant fabric at bodice and hem were blocking an aisle. These big beauties protruded into the aisle and their delicate hems grazed the floor, blocking the walkway. I have seen this in other stores. It makes me cringe, and I am infinitely glad that I was not on a mystery shop yesterday. Can't someone sort the dresses and provide big and tall display fixtures so as to preserve navigability?!

I spent an hour looking for my glasses. They had fallen behind the sofa cushion.

Get groceries, dust, clean floors, sweep outdoor areas, and do the diy leg care. I still have appointments, but I do a little bit of the care at home. Getting there!

Cycling at the gym, fancying myself up for an (afternoon) wedding and (evening) reception. May or may not come home between.

Great, wonderful, happy weekend thus far. Picked Mom up yesterday. Today, attended a local fall festival with my ladies. Tonight, my entire family, beaus and 2 neighbors

attended a charity walk for a cause that's near and dear to us. My baby's company came in 2nd with the most donations. The fireworks were amazing. We met so many nice and interesting people. Our hearts are full. Tomorrow? Back to cleaning, laundry, cooking(?).

Celebrating two mid-term graduations. Mary Lou Retton is out of hospital and at home. She is getting there! Huzzah! Today, I was graduated to 100% diy at-home leg care. Huzzah!

Resting myself and my voice. Woke up and couldn't utter a word. Last week's cough has resulted in Laryngitis, I suppose. I sound like some monster from a horror movie.
