What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Walked up to the grocery store and bought a gift certificate for the neighbor who let us use her Wi-Fi. Came home and made progress on a couple of projects that have been sitting on the guest bedroom for weeks. After church Hubby has to work at a bingo and I'll tag along and play.

First home football game of the season. Listening to the broadcast. So far, it is a great game for the visiting team.

Football world is good. "My" team rallied and, after just two overtimes, won! "My" other team won, too. By a lot. In regulation. grinning smiley

The daughter of a friend of Hubby's is getting married in October. When we received the invitation I learned it was Black Tie Preferred (and no black dresses, please). Today I went to a formal dress store to try on gowns. Have it narrowed down to two, and will have Hubby make the final decision.

Allergies have me bedridden. My little cat cuddled up next to me to make sure I was okay. She is pretty cool when she's not being an a-hole.

Awww, @Honny, hope you feel better soon! Glad kitty could give you some comfort!! She really does love you, you know! Maybe she's going through her terrible-twos, kitty-wise!!
Managing Partner had mercy on us today and we telecommuted. It is an inferno. I went into the yard to harvest tomatoes and basil. Sweated bullets and got 8 mosquito bites.
I have a mid-morning doctor appointment, so took a walk after breakfast. The temperature was lovely-I hardly broke a sweat. This afternoon will be catching up on projects, and a meeting tonight.

Another spontaneous improvement. Three stairs in a row! Hope to complete a gig that involves 20 - 30 steps in a steep stairway. Will I be ready if the gig is still available closer to the specified date? Dunno. I am just willing. Able is tbd.

I'm still bedridden. I don't have an infection, so that is a good thing. On the other hand, my head is clogged.

Honny,
The pollen count for grass is so high today in our area that masks are suggested on weather sites. You are probably not alone.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Bought formal dress earlier in the week. Today I popped into several resale and thrift stores looking for shoes. No luck.

Nothing as exciting as formal wear. Only need khakis for one MSC. Not even certain that I can complete the current gig. I just know that KathyG will be the most spectacular wedding guest there!

Yeah. Walesmaven, I am allergic to Maryland.

Ksthy, so excited for you! Please tell us about the dress. I caught up on Project Runway's finale tonight. I think it's my favorite show.

It's a simple navy sequined sheath dress with a lace jacket.

I felt pretty good yesterday so I volunteered at the food bank this morning.

Nice little day: a little football (we won), a little time in Nature (Autumn is here), and a little more of my book that I am reading. This thriller features admirable and meticulous attention to detail which is surpassed only by the utter and unfathomable depravity of the terrorists. Yikes.

The inferno is still flaming. Still working from home. I am loving the TJ's fresh flowers I bought a week ago. I haven't had to cut the stems until today. I spritz them, change the water regularly every other day and add a little bit of flower food. My Mom's spring bouquet and Hydrangeas we bought for her are faring the same. My new item from TJ's is Avocado Spray. Love it although I wish it weren't aerosal.
When I was subbing music and art were the hardest classes to do.

In the hunt for specific housewares and specific pants for legs. So far, thrift has not yielded anything. Found the best essential oil blend. Not too much of anything; it just smells perfect, to me. Perhaps I will get some of that soon.

Our Verizon bill has gone up another $15. What a ripoff. Time to cut them off. I have researched but have never pursued. We have a Roku stick and a Roku TV that serves me just fine but does not get Bravo without a subscription. Sling TV looks good and OOMA VOIP. We like having a landline.
@KathyG
They can be. This plan was great and easy to follow. And maybe it's not exactly what she does when she's there as I didn't have to actually teach any singing lol
Art can be tough too, for me.

Today, I am a sloth. Watching Private Eyes in bed with coffee. LOL

I'll wash floors, and a couple windows.

I've been on the planning team for a church retreat for months. The event is this weekend. I just found out that someone I did a volunteer job with yesterday tested positive for Covid today. I sent messages to the retreat leadership team and the priests at the church I'm scheduled to cook at tomorrow asking how the news will affect them. Waiting to hear back.

In other news, sometime this afternoon we're scheduled to get our fall furnace check up. I will mask up when the technician arrives and then stay out of their way.
