After a trip to the gym Hubby and I checked out a new coffee shop within walking distance of IKEA. After a cup of some of the best coffee I've ever had we walked back. By then it was hot, so we walked through the store. Finished up with ice cream from the cafe.

Finishing the storage unit on Saturday. Figured out how to deal with the remaining books-- but will need to re-sort eventually. Then, there will only be the massive amount of shredding to do. Wanted to go to Nature today but there was a severe weather alert.

Picked up There There by Tommy Orange from a local book store and started reading it. Done with about 75% of it and it's been amazing. A revolutionary novel touted be a major work of the New Native Renaissance. The book talks about the displacement of the Native Americans from their roots and identity - a must read.
Between sorting efforts am watching those cooking shows. You know, the ones where food must be elevated. If they take the food any higher, they will end up in another galaxy! Soon we must make the daily storage pilgrimage and then do the laundry.

Me, I'm trying to get rid of 24 things today. Alberta Motor Association had an electronics recycle, out with old phones, cords, etc! Gone!

Cycling class at the gym, then watched part of the London MLB game. The Cardinals stunk up the place, and I lost attention. Tonight we're volunteering at a St. John the Baptist event hosted by the Brazilian community at our church. I know not one word of Portuguese, but heard they'll find something for me to do anyway.

My Brazilian community event ended up being a blast! We worked at the popcorn booth, where I quickly figured out a pantomime to let people know that a bag cost one blue ticket.
Today I made breakfast at the church. When the associate priest came in and asked if there was any way I could also serve four missionaries I said I'd try. He helped me scavenge through the freezer and pantry to come up with enough food to pull it off.
This afternoon I had a nice visit with a friend at her house. After dinner I will take a walk to finish up my steps for the day.

I got a new bike last weekend. I rode a bike after 23 years and it was a hoot! We placed an offer on a beautiful house today. Now it's just a waiting game.
Went to a memorial for a friend and saw another one of our friends who I have not spoken to since the pandemic. She truly was a wonderful person and teacher. I met many of her students that she taught decades ago who also attended.
Happy and sore. Shoulders hurt after their excellent move-the-books workout and are too tired to do much more shredding for the day. Happy because the day is sort of fun overall. Did puzzles and other games. . Found another show on Tubi. This is the Celebrities version of MasterChef Australia. So far, no one has has mentioned 'elevating' the food. This is good.

Today was a relaxed day. After church, we took the scenic route home to have brunch. A nap and then organizing the millions of clothes that were all over the place in daughter's room. Purging, sorting and folding-repeat. Not done yet....

The last day of school was Friday. Today was my first day off. I got an oil change (mystery shop), went to the gym, got gas at Costco. Tomorrow I'm driving 200 miles round trip for two mystery shops. We are going to a music festival on Wednesday. I'm doing two more car shops in that area. The hotel will be covered.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a convention in Albuquerque this weekend, so need to make some decisions on clothes and do the final packing. This is the first time in years that our temporary residence will not include a washer and dryer. We've added on extra days before and after, so I'm pulling out the shirts I can wash in the sink and hang to dry.

My team had an in person meeting yesterday.. It was good to see everyone. I started ignoring Pepper's 4am yowls. She jumped up on the bed and yowled in my ear. Now she is giving me the evil eye.

I finally joined the gym. My class is tomorrow at 6am. The goal is muscle toning and cardio. The plan is to go to 4 classes a week, 2 during the week and 2 on the weekends. The weekend classes require reservations (Spin). I'm excited!

Yay! I did my first "route" today! Four Shops back-to-back. I was fun until I left my computer tote at the oil change shop. Had to go back about 10 minutes to get it!
Is it just me, or is judging on MasterChef Australia somewhat more civil than that on the American version of the show? The worst I heard from Australia is an assertive, "This is horrible." The worst I heard/saw from America is that the dish was 'expletive' and the food and plate were tossed in the trash-- with a great flourish, I should add. Well, i will continue to binge-watch and find out if anything changes with Australia.
*eta* Hah. From Australia there was, "I'll tell you straight. I think it's cr--. You've taken beautiful mushrooms and spoiled them."
