What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I yelled at my Mom. She used my Dad's handicap placard. I told her she was blessed to be healthy and she didn't need a parking spot close to the mall entrance.

In reality, I don't want to think of my parents as feeble.

Errands, rearrange living room slightly, and laundry. Now, the highlight of the day is catching up on the first two episodes of Crime Scene Kitchen, season two. I like the new 'safety challenge' and hope for season 3 and beyond.

At least your mom can still communicate. As my parents aged, communications became more and more difficult. Voices became weaker, ideas became jumbled and disjointed, and it became impossible to verify information. I still do not know what in the world they were trying to convey in some of the conversations.

After a 2 year wait, I got my heat pump replaced today. No cost to me!

Aldi for groceries, next door wine store. At home, my sister is here and we will team up to sort through 3 large boxes of old documents. Once paper clips and any other non-paper stuff gets removed, all the paper can be recycled. Because of the Monday holiday our next recycling collection will be next Thursday.

Found 16 things to get rid of because it's the 16th. Getting difficult to meet this challenge.
And got a haircut. I so miss my old hair stylist. I can't get this one to do what I like.
I turned a carry out pizza shop into a date. Before picking up the required order of toasted ravioli and medium pizza we went to the grocery store and bought a bag of salad. to go with it. After taking the required photos we drove to a park and ate.

Perfect day. Just the right amounts of exercise, leg elevation, house tasks, weather, and computer games. It rained enough to cool the air but not enough to bring the potential flood that was the subject of weather report.

They are relatively healthy for being in their 70s and 80s. That's why I was so upset.

Met DH for a quick dinner after work yesterday; Shake Shack for shakes and sandwiches. We then went to see a great play. What a wonderful, funny, insightful musical it was. Today, shopped for groceries. DD #2 and I delivered and put away my Mom's allotment. We al then went shopping. Bought myself and Mom a bag and sandals. We love them. #2 bought some "Mr. and Mrs." items listed on her friend's registry for her upcoming bridal shower. Then fine dining at a fab Italian restaurant. Sooooo good. Great day. I wish everyone a Happy Father's Day and/or a restful Sunday.
Trimmed hair (finally). Gearing up for the next round of getting rid of stuff. Tomorrow, we find out about availability of of big truck which we have used before to haul stuff. Next week, we move the last of the stuff out of storage and begin to sort it: recycle, shred, keep. Then, I need to re-sort the other stuff that I kept. It was easy to let go of many things I knew I would never use again. Now, more thought should go into what will, at last, be kept and what will go.

Fathers' Day, to all who observe! smiling smiley

Sounds like you are really uncluttering @Shop-et-al

I got rid of 18 Children's books so far today.
Now to see if I can find 45 more things. Missed a couple days already this month. 45 is my deficit.
Normal Sunday morning cooking shift at the church. I made a breakfast pizza with eggs, bacon, and cheese, but the Pillsbury crust in a can left a lot to be desired.

Tonight Youngest Son is coming over for dinner. We will celebrate his birthday (which was on the 15th) and Father's Day with a taco feast.

I use hash browns, tater tots or some kind of potatoes as my base for a breakfast pizza.

Made a big batch of lentil soup. A few containers went into the freezer.

Also decluttered old clothes. Slowly cleaning out the closets and drawers.
I went to Ulta to get my hair done. I had a speeding ticket in my unopened mail on the counter for a few weeks. I opened it, and the full amount due was only for the original amount of the ticket, no fees. Pepper has been begging me to go outside. I let her out after my errands and shops. She stayed out for 5 minutes.

Church this morning. Then came home and made my homemade liquid steak marinade and marinaded some thin ribeyes for about an hour, then cooked them on the grill for hubby's Father's Day meal. Also had fresh corn on the cob and baked french fries. It was all yummy! Then for dessert, we just now finished a piece of homemade lemon meringue pie. On a scale of 1-10, hubby says it was a 10, but he wished I'd have cut him a bigger piece, haha!
Marinated and grilled steaks for beefy man as well. He was in all his glory. Hand made steak fries in olive oil, garlic bread and grilled zucchini rounded it all out. DDs baked a banana cake, lemon cake balls and made a fruit salad featuring strawberries. Mom topped it all with home baked chocolate raisin rugelach.
There was a period of time when DH, #3 and I earned a bunch of tickets for Red lights and not coming to a full stop before making a right. I thought we would have to allot for this in our budget. Fees in addition to the ticket made the cost so much more. Green lights would turn red in a split second. We have no excuse for not coming to a complete stop. So far, so good but man, oh man, the expense incurred was painful. DH continues to get tickets; now it's for expired meters!
Physical therapy this AM and at the same time dropping a bag of clothes that I decluttered yesterday. Found out hospital where I do my PT has a cancer department that accepts clothes donations for cancer patients who are in need. Now I make sure to declutter something before every visit. Good incentive to get those closets organized! Then some more batch cooking for the freezer. Ate most of what I had in there when I was either lazy or not feeling well.
My cleaning lady is here, so the cat is hiding in the garage. I have the day off, I'm catching up on movies.

I don't have to work today. Took a morning walk with Hubby, but we should have either started earlier or stopped sooner; I was a sweaty mess when we got done. After a shower and nap I'm starting some lacto-fermented watermelon rind pickles. Although I'll keep some, most will go to Youngest Son.

Oh, my. Went to storage unit and saw just how much is still there. Eek! !!!!! But we will handle it, a little at a time. The goal is to be out b the end of the month and avoid another monthly payment. But the fun part of the day is the weather. It is sunny and too warm for me. Nonetheless, I have my little patio time and enjoy the pretty view out there.

My company had a meeting for new employees (2 years or less). It was death by Power Point and they had pasta for lunch. I don't think anyone was awake for the afternoon speaker. Overall, it was a great meeting. The company is big on networking.

Nerdy girl counted everything in storage and found 8 bins; 30 boxes; 19 lawn/leaf bags; and 8 odd things. I finally remembered what happened with the bags. When we had to move hings to storage in a hurry, we put all the shred-able stuff in bags. and re-purposed bins for other things. Absurd. ! But that really is in the past, and I can enjoy sunshine, finding fave books that were stored, and watching stuff go away from here. Bye-eee! During our drive between errands today, I saw the perfect spot for a picnic at the park. The table is completely shaded and near a paved walking path. That is on my list of things to do after mosquito season ends.

Back from the cruise ....We had a good time. There was a lot of people on the cruise but overall it was OK. Even though I don't know how much of a vacation it was considering we had. 3 kids under 5 with us. Now it's back to getting into the summer routine.
No one called me to substitute teach.
Didn't sleep so not accomplishing much. Maybe, more coffee.
We are having a spate of chilly rainy weather. Even though the rain accumulation a very small each day, it is doing wonders for my drought-stricken flower garden. In honor of the chilly weather I am defrosting a batch of pot roast with gravy and carrots that will provide a couple of suppers. Saw a shoulder specialist today and am relieved to find that my shoulder pain will be treatable with physical therapy plus one shot of cortisone. Once the right shoulder is better we will do the same with the left one.
