What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Took the bicycles out for the first ride of the year. A 15-minute ride got us to a new multi-use trail that runs next to an interstate over the Meramec River. From there we used the greenway next to the river. Eventually we took another bridge to return to the original side, explored a city park, then took surface streets back home. It was a lovely day.

This afternoon I processed a watermelon and make pinto beans in the Instant Pot.

Need to get the last load of nonsense from the old house and clean out the fridge. Not looking forward to that last task so I am procrastinating listening to audio books.
I had grand plans of cleaning out my fridge and the pantry. I ended up watching tv and playing with the cat.

Sleepy but could not sleep. So I explored some apps and am listening to classic television. Later: errands and a nap. Was delighted to learn that season 2 of Crime Scene Kitchen will be available on June 5. For my next trick, I will explore the NYT food app. I want to know if the app has the same recipes that the newspaper had, such as the plum.

Hoping to be productive. Felt really bad turning down work, but I need a break. I don't want to quit subbing but they are making it hard for me to be semi-retired ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The servant (aka washing machine) is working, I am making room on the PVR. Lol
Must get off the couch, get stuff done and treat myself to a bike ride.
@KathyG your ride sounds wonderful.
I wasn't productive at all. I am going to join a nearby gym to take advantage of my early waking time.

Today was a good day! Signed up for several shops and a paid professional learning training. Spoke to several handymen about repairing my closet rack that suddenly fell during the night (and scared me to pieces)! Trying to make a list of things I need to do before it's vacation time.
My next door neighbor found a dead possum in her pool. She was so sad. They are not cute to me. We live across the way from a body of water. I used to take the trash out late at night until I encountered the neighborhood possum too many times. Our cameras in our yard picked up images of a possum and her 2 babies. They turned our sensor lights on as well. I know they are docile but I am crazy.
Improvement! I slept well, woke early, and did two complementary workouts. Now I am ready for the errand-filled day.

I hope your errand filled day does not wear you out @Shop-et-al.
@Madetoshop I stay away from all the wildlife even cute bunnies lol

Mixed bag of classes today. Ready after my day off.
I took a well deserved mental heath day today.

Going to yet another big garden supply store in search of perennials that will fit into the scheme of my small front garden and/or the pots on my deck.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I unpacked the lamps and lighting fixtures that were delivered Saturday. I now have a bunch of partially opened boxes in the middle of the living room floor. The cat is having a field day.

@prince: It did not wear me out; it was just busy (and dealing with loads of heavy wet laundry was a good third workout for the day).

@HonnyBrown: No one is having fun with the extraneous stuff in the living room here. We need for hubby to have a healthy enough foot so he can help with the removal process.

Today is complete sentences day. Is anyone else old enough to remember sentences and actual words? OTOH, texting could be just an extreme form of a mashup of shorthand and... something. I learned Gregg shorthand when I learned to type on a manual typewriter. Was that a better time in communications? Hmm.

I'm glad you didn't get worn out @Shop-et-al.

Another day off for me. Must be productive.

So far, sorted one stack of papers. So much more to do.

But moving on to cleaning and baking tasks.

Then weeding.
Legs were much improved today! Now, we go to Nature before it rains. It is so peaceful, and pretty and springy-green, there... smiling smiley

My plans changed when I decided to complete at St. Louis-style pizza style shop for dinner tonight. Instead of going to the mall to walk I will head to a shady, scenic neighborhood.

Pepper is fired. The patio door was open for her to come and go while I'm in my office. She watched a wasp come in, crawl up a wall, and exit. She watched for 30 minutes. She was quite entertained. The lamps are assembled and very pretty. I ordered the specialty bulbs from Amazon. They will be here tomorrow.

Bank deposits; dropping off 2 Amazon returns; groceries from local Aldi; carryout pizza from next door to Aldi.

Errands: drop off donations and go to laundromat. It is raining, so we cannot go back to Nature at this time. I will prepare more donations and listen to the sound of the rain.

field day at school. Just 9 days left with students. Just got asked to consider applying for an instructional coach job at my current school. Hadn't even considered it. Happy Hour with our 403b finiancial planner to celebrate the end of the year and then home to mow the lawn (or more likely) or unpack boxes.
Lots of volunteer work. After lunch I tried to run down a list of bounced emails that someone in the organization sent me. Shortly I will leave the house and go set up for an event tomorrow.

Found out it will be almost $400 to board Feonia while we're on vacation. Guess I need a few more shops... One of my shops I was closed down but I wasn't mad. Went to the mall and found a dress for the dress up night on the cruise.
I ordered 2 boxes of 100W LED bulbs for the new lamps. They are so dim. I'm not liking the LED trend.

A mixed day today. Started out easy and then became frenzied. Unusual for a Friday workday. Tomorrow, brunch with all my ladies, cultural street fair and 2 coveted Pop-up events. DD #3 bought her Grandmama a new straw hat to wear. DH will drop Furry baby love off at my sister's house beforehand. I wish everyone a relaxing and restful weekend.
