What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Kolache shop breakfast date, then trip to the gym. Getting ready to leave town tomorrow for an organization business meeting on Saturday. Discovered a problem with the PowerPoint slide deck I am using for my reporting. After trying several different things it's fixed....I hope!

Got back a few minutes ago from taking our 14+ yr old dog for his shots at the Mobile Vet. That vet does a GREAT job getting the shots into our dog. Our dog is real calm until.......there is ANY type of medical procedure involved....then he's Dr Jeckyll/Mr Hyde!! So the vet has my husband straddle the dog at his shoulders while holding tightly onto his leash and gently squeezing his legs into the dog, and I go around to the dog's front to distract him. Then up from behind comes the vet and ...ZOOP ZOOP!!! One in each hip area and it's all done!! All in less than 30 seconds! He's great and is totally understanding about it all! Also picked up his Revolution while there. Shots done for another year!!
I woke up this morning and Pepper wasn't at the foot of the bed. I checked her usual hiding spots and she was MIA. I left the patio door cracked with the hopes that I maybe locked her out before I went to bed last night. I went to close the door since I had to leave for an early AM shop. She waltzes in and heads straight for her food dish. She's been asleep ever since she came in at 7am.

She was asleep under my bed. I dragged her from her peaceful slumber and put her in my office. A few hours later, she's sleeping on the guest bed. Rinse and repeat. She finally realized that she wasn't going to get a peaceful day's rest unless she runs away or sleeps in the same room where I am working.

It's been all work and very little play. However, that motivates me to get things done and not dilly dally. Tomorrow, DH is taking all of his ladies to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant and to see a hit play. Mom is excited and it's contagious. I am caught up with laundry, cleaning and the service team came in yesterday. Got two great items on a shop today fully reimbursed. Feeling great. I wish you all a relaxing weekend!

Edited to add fur baby love went to the groomer today. He is so fluffy and softer than ever. We are dropping him off at my sister's home tomorrow and picking him up. He gets to go socialize as well.

Changing my siggy. Someone posted 'ashes' days ago and I finally looked up the lyrics that popped into my head at that time. What an encouraging song! Anyway, I am renewing my strength and am pleased with improvements. Looooonnnggg way to go to.the finish line, which wobbles depending upon who is defining it, but at least I am en route to it. Fortunately, I can deal with a variety of outcomes and we will know more as time passes. Love reading everyone's posts! smiling smiley

I volunteered at the food bank this morning. Some of our regulars didn't show. I have to purge my fridge. I have 4 jars of pesto each missing a tablespoon.

The fridge purge is complete. I can see the shelves again.

Arrived home early today. I will need to log in and start work again at 6:30PM or so. The same daily routine. Work, work, work, eat, shower, relax for an hour+, putz around, clean up and do it again the next day. Yesterday was an enjoyable visit to a flower and garden show.
Pretty much everyone knows that today is Pi (3.14) Day, but in St. Louis it's 314 Day-the number is the original Area Code for the city. I made the mistake of doing a shop at a restaurant that claims it serves the original St. Louis Style pizza. They were slammed.

Work. I went to Trader Joe's today in a snowstorm with #1 as our cupboards and refrigerator are bare. What a great time we had. It was empty! They didn't have Arugula so we decided to go to Aldi for our produce betting that it would be empty as well. Oh, wow, what a pleasure and they were stocked. Carts were flying across the parking lot and snowflakes hurting our eyeballs butt we would gladly put up with that for an empty store. Now have to log back in at 7:30 or so to resume working.
Trader Joe's is headquarted in LA County. The LA stores are regular grocery stores; they carried everything. I went for my regular shopping and it was mob packed. It was the day before the Oscars.

I have resorted to shopping at Trader Joe's mid-late pandemic. I used to go now and then and always loved it. Our Trader Joe's are like small grocery stores with exception of the ones that are located in "the CITY", LMAO. I found I had to go to at least 2 retailers to fulfill my shopping list but not usually now. Odd that TJ's this time caused me to go to Aldi. I love their products. Firm and extra firm organic tofu is the best. I find it odd that I have to travel to an international market to purchase other textures of tofu but it's OK. Too bad it's always packed no matter which one I drive to but check out is quick and pleasant. Love their fresh flowers too! Well worth it.

This morning I went for a dental checkup and cleaning. On the way out the door the business manager told me that as of the first of the year the office was not in network for our insurance. Couldn't they have let us know before I had work done? Hubby and I will be looking for a new dentist.

I have shops in the same town as TJ's on Saturday. I will go there instead of Safeway.

Finished up the last of five carry out pizza shops. I ate my lunch before picking up the lunch special, took required photos of the food, then drove home. The soda was gone before I pulled into the garage. Despite having already eaten the pizza was calling my name, so Hubby and I indulged. (The salad will be part of tomorrow's lunch.)

Worked. Target run to buy swag for Easter baskets. I locked furry baby love in a dark garage when grabbing a bottle of water before I left. I was frantic when I arrived home and he wasn't there to greet me. Called him and then heard him crying. I felt awful. Must concentrate on what/who matters. My poor baby.
Dusted, vacuumed and spin scrubbed my hardwood floors. Made two quilted heart for someone to find. DH and I watching a hockey game; yaawwwnnnn. Empty nest tonight, I want my Mommy.
I have to redo my taxes. I got tax forms into February.

Oh no! I've done that. Luckily, I had to get something from the freezer before I went bed. Thunder Cat came inside and gave me the evil eye for the rest of the night.

Oh, hmmph. June's Journey has in-game purchases. Oh, well. The other day I took my first steps in weeks. Woot! Re-learning to walk is a long process for me, but it is happening. Huzzah!

s-e-a,
Congrats on walking. Re: June's Journey: no in-game purchases are needed to enjoy the game!

Watched the bear movie yesterday, thinking it was supposed to be funny, but it was not. Trying to get ready for the upcoming week. Found two good paying shops. Will make tacos for dinner.
Arrived home from skiing last night. Off to grade one today.

My spare bedroom/office has two large closets (each six feet long). When we moved in I just shoved boxes in willy-nilly. This week I am starting the process of emptying it out/installing a shelf system/reorganizing.

Kathy, when I bought my Delaware property, I systematically put every labeled box in the spare bedroom. Everything went to hek when I had to look for some cable wires for Comcast.

Pepper is grey and black tiger striped with a white undercarriage. She went outside and returned muddy. No way is she sleeping on my bed today.

Misplaced daughter's / my tablet. Kinda pinpointed when we lost it. Not sure if someone took it out of the garage or we dropped it on the ground during our walk! Very upsetting!
