What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Leslie Kay, I hope they figure it out. I hope the appointment goes okay, if it were me I'd be terrified. Big hugs and let us know how it goes.

That looks pretty nice! In fact it looks a lot like the one I have. Been using mine for years and I can't kill them no matter how hard I try. They were another hand me down as my spouse bought them for a previous girlfriend. My new strategy is to buy the Epicurious pieces I want one at a time. My spouse is a huge believer in if it's not broken, don't fix it. If things still work, don't replace them.

Thanks for the recipe bg. I printed it out and will make it when my new pot gets delivered.
LeslieKay,

Hope everything turns out OK for you. My dad had swallowing problems. They wound up doing a procedure (can't remember what they called it) and they stretched his esophagus. It was a relatively minor procedure and he was soooo much better after.

Well today I got rained out of my gas stations, I figured they were better left for another day, so I played video games. *slaps self upside the head.
I did 8 shops today--1 post office, 6 convenience stores, and 1 carryout food shop.

Oh/yeah, forgot it was supposed to not be about shopping, lol!

lucky 7s,
I did not know that laundry grew from seed. Mine just seems to appear, week after week.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I am earning millions of dollars per minute! Really. In a computer game. It's very fun. You are given a little money and a few other resources and you must figure out how to earn as much money as possible, as quickly as possible, while developing an appealing neighborhood according to the virtual mayor's specs.

If only I could figure out how to earn this much money from mystery shopping... grinning smiley

After a slow start yesterday I was actually very productive. I deep cleaned the bathroom, wiped down every shelf and everything on the shelves plus the usual bathroom cleaning stuff and washed the rugs. Today I have to get ready for a trip to my spouses street reunion tomorrow. That means shopping for drinks to go in the ice chest and producing a dessert to take somehow. I'm thinking a couple of cobblers. Blackberry and maybe peach. By "street reunion" that means the street she grew up on. They all remained close and have get togethers every couple of years.Plus a couple of neighbors are coming over to pick plums off of my tree. One of them is supposed to show me how to make some kind of jam that doesn't have to be canned. Apparently it is kept in the freezer until needed.

CQ that sounds like fun! Not the deep cleaning the bathroom part though I know the end result is satisfying. I know plums are delicious, how awesome to have a tree!
I'm working, then going to calling hours for my friends younger sister, only 35 and passed away in her sleep. She wasn't even sick. Very sad.
I've seen some silly topics on here and I'm like ok, just move one, but this one is so dumb I have to comment. This kind of content belongs on facebook, not here. C'mon, really, please people. The search feature turns up results to posts like this one when people are looking for actual helpful information. Surf on over to facebook for this kind of nonsense.
The thread is in General Chat, which is defined as not mystety shop related. The subject line further confirms that there is nothing ms-related to be found here. There were 2 fair warnings of what to expect. Skip the thread if you're not interested.

There's plenty of nonsense in the General area and many of us like it that way. It's designed to be that way. It is non-mystery-shopping related and we discuss food, recipes, general announcements, holidays, gardening, and all sorts of stuff. You might want to stick to the mystery-shopping related areas. Then you won't have to worry about reading any nonsense.
JL, is everything to you dumb and stupid? I have read some of your other posts, and one of them in particular was a thread you started stating that companies had guidelines that put shoppers at risk...suggesting by the subject line that the guidelines were compromising a shopper's safety and all you were talking about was the MSC having shoppers buy a pair of socks or something innocuous like that, and then you went on to call the MSCs dumb and stupid. No one called you stupid or dumb for starting that thread. As posted directly above, this thread is in general chat, and we can talk about whatever we want. The subject line of the thread was pretty clear that it had nothing to do with shopping. Move on.

That's kind of bizarre. Sorry to hear it. I would like to die in my sleep but not yet!

I for one love this thread. Especially since what has been going on in this forum lately it's refreshing. That plus I am having my mocha lattes spiked.

CoffeeQueen...you have a plum tree...have you ever made plum cobbler?

OMG I have never heard of plum cobbler. But it sounds divine. My plums are quite sour, only good for cooking with.

I have never made it myself but have had it before. I googled it and there seems to be a lot of recipes for it.

Kim
I just saw your post about what you are having for dinner. I made a salad once with chopped romaine, corn, red pepper, red onion and grilled chicken strips. On top I drizzled ranch dressing and raspberry chipotle grilling/bbq sauce. Was it ever good. I can't take credit for the raspberry & ranch combo. I saw it on a cooking blog. I never would have thought of that flavor combo myself.

Kim
Yes I just used the google (sorry but I have to do that, it cracks me up every time.) I will try one if I have any plums left when I get back from out of town on Sunday. We live in a very densly populated downtown area with a lot of foot traffic and people help themselves to my cherries and plums. I have only canned with them, but don't have time this year.
Raspberry chipotle? Something else to google. I love chipotle peppers with peaches. I"ll roast some peppers and layer them with sliced fresh peaches. So yummy.

I was wondering the very same thing about the plum cobbler. Here's the thing: tart fruits make the best pies and cobblers. Think about it: Granny Smith apples are the best for apple pie and they are very tart, so it stands to reason that tart plums would make a divine cobbler or pie.
What's wrong with being silly, non-productive for a day and smelling the rose's...I find it refreshing and am doing nothing today, oops, time for Dr. Phil, then a nap, then taking clothes out of dryer...it's 110% today, i'm not going out....put that in your pipe and smoke it.......smiling smiley oh I forgot, doing research for restaurants in Vegas for Aug.
JAS. I am sorry about your sister, too young to pass.
