What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Hm. Hubby seems to be offered a third (or more) interview for job he wants. He had been told that tptb would tell him yesterday whether he was hired or not. Fortunately, he has no time to wrack his brain about this. Today is storage moving day. (Finally!) As I look around this place and note how our stuff-- our reflection of some aspect of us or other-- has changed over the years, I realize that when we arrived we were gobsmacked from a lengthy legal process and dared not have enough to make a ruckus, impact, or difference in the place. As we found our new selves, we expressed some of these changes. Now, we have a downright odd (to most people) but personally satisfying expression. For example, our little curated fluffy collection has attracted a veritable explosion of fluff. As it turns out, it is excellent to have their cuteness and sweet little faces all about the place. Today, the furniture that is coming back from storage is really "their" furniture along with a little something that gives context. The Living Room Manager Bears will have their own chairs and places of honor as part of a vignette that I felt was worth bringing back from years ago. I was unable to find the tablecloth I used, so I ordered a new one. When it is placed as the foundation of a layered table treatment, i will breathe a sigh of relief and all will be well in one room of my place. There will be no furniture for humans there because we need space for the drying racks. But who cares?! The space will be useful 24/7 and we will never, ever have to listen to the unprintable dryer for hours at a time per load and we can postpone a more expensive purchase. Can I ever live 100% without a dryer? This goal inspires me to make choices that are in favor of peace and quiet in my place. My values are reflected there, too.....

Doctor Google had told me I might have stronger than normal reactions to my high-dose flu shot, and Doctor Google was correct. My head and body are achy, and I feel like I'm walking through muck, however, slowly but surely I'm getting things done around the house.

Went for a dental cleaning and check up today during my lunch hour. It was quick so I went to the Asian Market to purchase 1/2 dozen bricks of soft tofu. Supermarkets around here including Trader Joe's only sell Firm or Extra-Firm. Not the texture I'd like for the food I have in mind. Just logged out of work and now will have a lazy, relaxing night. Cleaning service coming this Friday. The nice lady asked if there was anything else I wanted done other than the bathrooms and kitchen. I will consider this carefully.

Made my shopping list for two soups. I just feel like making soup & freezing some of it for future enjoyment.

Spicy vegan tofu stew. Smoothies with strawberries and banana. Muy delicioso!

I haven't been to my international market in a long time. It's time to go shopping!

Gotta vacuum the above ground pool in a bit. Gonna close it up soon. Glad today is in the 90s here....it'll feel good to get in the pool and won't be too cold!
Yesterday my doctor ordered some fasting blood work. I don't fast well, so I was at the urgent care when they opened at 8 am. Afterwards Hubby and I went out to breakfast, then walked around that area. Back home, I'm getting ready to leave for a (hybrid) convention this weekend. Need to load all the tech gear in my car so the virtual part can happen.

@KathyG: good luck!

Making new-to-me-soup recipe. It is truly lovely!

I'm watching a documentary on A Tribe Called Quest, a 90's music group. It's very good! I'm looking at my options for window blinds. Information overload!

Kindergarten has been keeping me swamped! I am going to try to attend a mystery shopping seminar. I didn't register because I was trying to make sure I would have someone to watch my daughter. So I'm going to drop in. Hopefully, they'll let me stay. Fingers crossed!
Used the vinegar, water & steam method to clean the interior of the microwave. Hubby has conveniently forgotten to clean that area for two weeks now. Set up kitchen projects that hubby must complete today. Enjoy the peace & quiet from drying racks. Unprintable dryer needed hours of drying time per wet load of laundry. We can't replace it for awhile, so these racks are my new friends & funky living room decor. Hoping the altered environment will be conducive to relaxation and a flow of healing processes! At least I can hear hours of quietude or enjoyable inputs now. smiling smiley

Shop-et-al. We rarely use the dryer.
When I had a smaller place I hung the laundry on hangers in the bathroom. Kept it out of the living space. Luckily now we have a laundry room and Hubby put a line in there.
Alberta is dry. Can usually hang it up before leaving for work and have most of it dry when I get home.

Previous bathrooms were great for the purpose. The one here is not. The living room is perfect because it has two vents and daylight from practically every direction. In the warmer months, the streaming sun is warmer and dries faster, but it's all good.

New day, new wonderfulness and new annoyances.

Wonderful? Protocoligorically Correct [www.youtube.com]

Mover ovah', Coyote Ugly and line dancing! These old guys in their breeches and slippers did it first, on library tables!

Annoying? Well... everything seems less bad after I watch this scene from The Slipper and the Rose. grinning smiley

I had lunch with my cousin yesterday. Today, I'm watching my cat Scrapple explore his new home. He treats my hallway as his personal Autobahn.

During Prime Week I ordered an Amazon Halo View, Amazon's version of a FitBit. The band was crappy, and I lost it within the first week or so. One Star review.

Today I received a call from Amazon regarding said review. Not only did they replace the Halo, but they gave me a credit toward a better band!

DH and I cleaned the outside of the refrigerator today. Couldn't have done it without him. I cleaned the interior. Empty nest today. DH and I going to order food with my $20 off $25 Uber code. Yesterday Skate Marathon for all 3 ladies. DH went with Furry Baby. They all finished under 4 hrs. Honorable mention goes to Baby girl who placed 12th in their division. :-)

I had a great time at a convention over the weekend....except for the part where I was walking, stepped in a pothole, and sprained my ankle :-(

Today is all bout getting ready to fly out tomorrow for a two week trip to visit family. The gimpy ankle is really cramping my style. Not to mention, but I keep worrying about what the issue means for the trip.

Oh, KathyG! My first thought is that beyond being driven around the airport instead of walking so much and using a chair when doing the honored person first on/off the plane, you might have a lightweight, collapsible cane..(Nothing massive like my first club I mean sturdy cane). As I recall, you have grandchildren who might find a cane to be... interesting. At least they would not have something like a lethal weapon! Mind you, if I were some sort of miracle worker, your ankle would have been healed in the very moment when I read your post and travel concern. smiling smiley

Thanks. I think the ankle is less puffy than it was last night, but both sides have pretty impressive bruises on them :-)

@KathyG, last October, I twisted my ankle on my outside steps, and suffered a Grade 2 Sprain....what I did that helped a LOT was to purchase a compression sleeve for the ankle. You can get them online at Amazon, or any pharmacy like CVS or Walgreens. I got the thinner type so I could fit my sock and shoe over it. It was a HUGE help! And boy oh boy, did I have BRUISES along my foot and ankle!! ALL sorts of shades of dark purple, blue, yucky green and yellow! It's going to take a good 6 weeks to heal, so don't do any extra walking over what you have to. So maybe try a compression sleeve for your ankle!
New kitty won't stop crapping on my carpet. He's getting progressively worse. I'm checking on Next Door to see if anyone wants a cat. I have to rehome him.

@HonnyBrown: What did the vet say about the cat's situation?
