What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I just watched the news clip of skating program in which the gifted young Russian female skater lands the first quadruple jump in Olympic history. Oh, my. This is... I don't know... fabulous!

I hope the skaters who collided during a practice session are okay...

Removed our truck engine intake and valve cover to get to fuel injectors...

Rough idle at 285k miles. Only sometimes would it set a misfire code P0301 (cylinder #1). The engine computer fuel trims would go negative indicating that the oxygen sensor(s) are detecting a rich condition. The computer tries to dial back the fuel to compensate but it results in a rough idle.

Careful disassembly, a lot of cleaning, replaced a fuel regulator, replaced one fuel injector (likely wasn't needed, but just in case), intake and valve cover gaskets and careful reassembly. Most of my time was spent cleaning and being careful not to drop any debris into the engine.

What cost me just under $200 would have likely been an over $1000 charge by a repair shop. Also, the shop would likely not go to the cleaning extent that I did.

Silky smooth inline six cylinder engine idle again.

Word of advice: If you have a rough running engine and the engine is running rich with fuel, get it repaired soon. This is how expensive catalytic converters are poisoned/ruined.

Proper diagnosis skills are valuable.
Busy week. Gig/-s will be time-consuming and nothing will be accomplished at home. But the paychecks will be welcome, and my inner perfectionist can fume about undone projects while the rest of me works for money somewhere else. My protracted project situation has been good for me in one way: it forces the perfectionist issue into the stratosphere (or to wherever stubborn perfectionism should be sent, haha).

Did the monthly volunteer money counting of this week's collection at church. Picked up some packaging materials from a Buy Nothing group member, then came home and set out a bag of clothing to be picked up by someone else. Helped Hubby put together dinner by doing a quick pickle of turnips in some sauerkraut brine for him. Before the day is over need to get steps in.

@prince Yes! and ice too.

Today was work and took my little one to speech. I really want to do my Walk at Home with Leslie, but I'm beat!
A little work, a lot of errands, and a great deal of pleasure from making soup. One of the errands is to pick up ingredients.

I used to Walk with Leslie, but my DVD player is on the fritz.

Dropping off non-driving friend for her eye appointment. While she is there: bank; ACE Hardware, possibly wine store visit. Collect friend, back home for a nap, a peek at the slow cooker pot roast, and doing a couple of loads of laundry. Feb shops start tomorrow afternoon for me.

Ice makes sense. Buses get canceled for ice. Schools still run though.

I do Walk with Leslie on YouTube a few times a week.

This morning was a 30 minute Pilates class. I am seeing progress.

I did an apartment shop at a new community. A 1 bedroom apartment was $1800. Geez.

It feels like the movie 'Groundhog Day' here. We are still repeating Monday, except for the one minscule change made each day. Like swimming in mud. Gah. ! But back to sports news. Just read that figure skating world has yet another scandal. Apparently, an unnamed skater on team Russia had tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and has triggered an investigation. While the legal process unfolds, the team figure skating medal ceremony is delayed (and potentially, the medal assignments could change). While I was busy comparing costumes and music of this year and previous years' performances and enjoying what I saw and what I missed over the years, someone else was looking deeper and finding 'As the Blade Spins' or whatever we could call these issues. I did notice a few things in my little enjoyment. Different programs to the same music reveal different skater strengths. My current fave example is that Torvill and Dean program with 'Bolero' had no jumps, but it had an unwavering flow and two people to provide interest. One skater must do the program differently in order to provide an equivalent pleasure for the fans and and equivalent wow factor for the judges.

Didn't want to do it but deep cleaned 3 bathrooms. I am seriously looking for a maid service. I only want my bathrooms and kitchen cleaned. Having problems with my specs. What has been your experience with cleaning services if any?
Yesterday's boot camp-type shop has left me sore ALL OVER. Went to a yoga class at my gym, and the stretching felt great. Hubby and I hit a couple of antique malls for a side table. Bought one and when I got it home decided it wasn't 'the one'. However, it was better than what was there before and I think I could recoup close to the $50 I paid for it if I decide to resell it.

I found my cleaner on Next Door. She is great!

Today was a 20 minute Walking with Leslie class. It had a Pilates spin. I also did a Pilates abs class.

You are ambitious. I fell asleep while stretching my back. Mind you, I could walk properly after that, but it was a good thing that I was at home and not in a workout session with other people. Tomorrow is resistance day in my world.

Going to a service for Hubby's cousin, who passed away last week. Hubby's father was one of the youngest siblings in his family, so it makes sense that Hubby would be one of the youngest cousins. However, it's still a reminder that none of us is getting any older.

Working and trying to do household chores in between. I dusted and waxed bedroom furniture and vacuumed the carpeted bedrooms but had to keep turning it off until I got the brilliant id to put my work phone on vibrate and stick it in the top of my pants while doing so. I can't wait until it's my dinner break.
Thanks! I'm motivated because I am seeing results. Also, I have no excuse. I workout at home in front of the TV.

I skipped today because it was a rest day.

One tiny load of laundry and a desperately needed mani-pedi. If I had a cat, he would be jealous.

I've done that, too, while vacuuming! Another thing I've done is to plug in my headphone into my phone, put my phone in my pocket, and keep one plug in my ear. If and when the phone rings, I never miss it! Of course, the headphone wire has to be long enough to reach from the pocket to your ear, and then still have a bit of play, but it works!
Finally. At last! After a few days of utter lunacy (don't ask; it is safe to presume that fairy tale money in the several year saga of silliness might be a thing in his past) hubby has declared that he is not going to trust anyone anymore. This is an improvement over the last few years of believing that strangers from who-knows-where in the world had his best interest at heart and would reward him eventually for completing tasks at my expense. Mind you, this seems so much like one of the earliest Nancy Drew books in which gullible Sadie was reverse brainwashed by Nancy Drew into ending extortion that I wonder if someone is standing behind a statue and whispering to hubby. I never thought that was quite the right thing for Nancy Drew to do with Sadie, but later I wondered if it was just a Hayduke moment. Hmm... Either way, young Sadie and old hubby might be free now...

I got my hair color cut out. My hair is short! I'm making a pot of beans. I'm looking forward to my book club pot luck tomorrow. I'm bringing mac and cheese.

Still following some of the Olympics news. I like what Katarina Witt said about the doping mess, and I 'm glad she uses her insightful voice effectively. Kamila Valieva is gifted and well trained-- as are her teammates. They have been working toward landing ever more difficult jumps within complex programs for years and years. How long did it take for women to incorporate triple jumps consistently? It will probably take about that long for the quad jumps to be ubiquitous. I believe that time, not doping, is what makes this skating world spin. I want Kamila to have a shining moment such as those for Nathan Chen, Donovan Carillo, and others who are made of good stuff and have no need of being doped (duped?).

[yup. what she said]https]

Happy Saturday! I just have the usual: laundry, workout, work, and more of whatever little projects inspire me.

I did a walking workour this morning. I don't have 1 pound dumbells, so I used canned vegetables instead.

Later is the Galentine's lunch with my book club.

No major plans for this Saturday...just finished making breakfast. I bought some apple cinnamon muffins from Aldi that were yummy. I need to run to the store to get some valentine hearts for my class...hope I can find some. Maybe I'll take DD to the park.
