What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Columbo! smiling smiley Sixteen seasons of Columbo are free with ads on Tubi. The last few seasons have only one or two episodes each on this site. Somewhere in the world, the last few seasons were combined into one larger Season Ten. Rabid fans will know more about this than I do.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
First guilt-free week with just the three required shifts at talking heads job and no plans to increase that. My voice thanks me.

I did a 30 minute walking workout this morning on YouTube.

Early morning appointment for mammogram/bone density test. A massive snowstorm is headed this way starting tonight, so I got outside for both a morning and an afternoon walk. Ended the day with carryout Chinese to celebrate the New Year.

Chinese! Why didn't I think of that?! Maybe tomorrow. This is the year of the tiger. Tony, Tigger, Rocky 3, what..

Today's workout was 2 Pilates classes. The second one incorporated weights. Owch!

Although it doesn't look like we got much of the expected sleet before things changed over to snow, I didn't have anywhere I had to be so it's a hunker down day. At Hubby's request put together a spreadsheet listing how much I brought in from each company I worked for last year. For lunch I made a clean out the refrigerator soup. Dinner will be the leftovers we snubbed last night. Just have to figure out how to get some steps in before the day is over.

I finished one major project. I will never have to do that again. Ever. !!!!! To celebrate, I have a 1960 movie featuring Peter Sellers. He is as good here, in a serious role, as he was good and goofy in the Pink Panther movies.

Day two of being stuck inside. I neglected to get library books, and it's too snowy and cold to walk to the Little Free Library. In my twisted thought process it's not ok to sit in front of the television all day but acceptable to futz around on the computer :-)

Made another hot meal for lunch. This one was a yummy sweet potato and apple soup, to which I added a snack package of sunflower seeds.

Spent all morning in the only chair that helps my back. (Yesterday's project made me happy and made my back sore.) Will spend the rest of the day doing errands. Postponed a use-up-the dregs-from-the-pantry cooking project.

This morning was a 30 minute intermediate Pilates class. It hurt.

The sun came out today! It was beautiful, but cold. Had two Zoom meetings. Went to the mall to walk, then later bundled up and walked through the neighborhood a little bit. Not many shoveled sidewalks yet.

Trying to re-arrange assorted organs and sore and tender parts. It seems that it is time for a new bed. The current thing has become a torture chamber that will not rest until I have become its pretzel. I have yet to find a bed that actually does not cause pain. I do not care how fancy schmancy or inexpensive/expensive the beds are these days. They do not suit me! Apparently, I need to create a bed system for people who want something that has not been invented yet. But enough of whining. The fun part of the day will include finishing a book and trying on new shoes that arrived a few days ago. They looked wonderful on their web page, and I envisioned them with jeans and slacks. Now, let's find out if they fit well. smiling smiley

For the first time in a long, long time, I am spending time comparing prices at 3-6 local grocery stores in order to make a route to serious budget savings on meat, veg and staples. Waiting for sunrise to assess just how icy my front steps and sidewalk and road might be before making decision about actually grocery shopping this morning vs tomorrow. For the second time in 4 nights I have been wide awake since 3:30 AM. Time to do more very quiet chores like folding laundry and unloading the dishwasher.

The only way I am venturing out into that icy mess is on my snow shoes! Thought I might have to stop and sleep in my car on the way home from work yesterday. LOL
So glad I have no shops to do.
So, declutter, clean, organize the whole house it is. (I forgot to do that the other day)
Today I reconciled my MS spreadsheet and did stuff around my house.

Cleaned house, washed some bed linens, made banana pudding and some chocolate chip cookies, where I subbed half the margerine with peanut butter...boy are they tasty!
I vacuumed the hardwood floors, did laundry, made cornbread and a vanilla cake. Everyone out today for most of the day and it was peaceful with Mom, fur baby and me.
Y'all please send a little snow down to Georgia. Oh the joy of waking, peeking out the window, checking the news to discover the schools in the county are closed, and then to go back to bed! Winning!
I had a melted mozzarella incident. Spent some time trying to remove it from a broiler pan, dish rag, and my rubber gloves.
Need to build a bigger, badder shop day (or two or three) around recently assigned gigs. This is difficult because of the time frame, and I might work one or two separate gig days between now and then. This is good because I can't work so many talking head shifts. Then, it is on to the next: shredding, cleaning the microwave, and taking that all important nap before work.

Ugh! Did you use any type of cleaning agent to help remove it? Sounds like a mess!
School closes for snow! @Shopper797

Off to get my fresh air snow shoeing and then back to cleaning. Can't seem to unclutter anything.

I was hoping to rent a lawn aerator, but it says they’re 275 lbs! Holy cow! I don’t want to hoist that into an SUV! My lawn is a little compacted from kids and dogs. And now some grubs have escaped (or been eaten?) there’s a ton of holes in the dryer more compacted areas. I need to add some soil seed fertilizer and aerate.
I feel your pain. I cooked a deep dish pizza upside down in my oven.

Today was a pilates class and a strength training class.

I don't know if it's in your budget, but our lawn perked up considerably the year we had a layer of compost spread on it.
