What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Mum: YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Irene, what went wrong? I haven't tried them yet. Are they too oily to crisp?

First they were still soft after 2 hours in over, then the taste is foul, does't taste like avocado....just a loser.

Tomorrow can't get here soon enough. I just found out about a a Mexican restaurant in a primarily Mexican area not too far from me, a cute Western town, it's called Newhall, the restaurant is "Noche Azul" and owned by a well known artist. Pictures on Yelp are amazing and it is Art infested, very interesting, going for lunch on my own dime...yay, no chain involved, just good food and no report....one of a kind, love it!!

Went to a birthday party today. It was a surprise party for a friend who turned 50. The guy was pleasantly surprised. He thought he was going for a casual dinner at the Banquet. It was a fun night. The best part was when his 82 year old FIL sang "It's got to be love."
Hubby and I met our house buying agent and looked at several potential houses. We won't be ready to buy until we have a contract for our house (which will be on the market in eight days), so there's a good chance some of the ones we saw will already be sold. But that doesn't mean I couldn't come up with my favorites.

Today is church, grocery shopping and finalizing my homework for submittal.

Westinghouse, the manufacturer of my TV that conked out, was very specific about taking the TV to an electronics recycling facility as the final part of the warranty process.

Today, I received an email from them acknowledging that I took the TV to the dump site and dumped it.

So much for social responsibility.

After a time-consuming inefficiency in my work, I am at home and ready to stay here for awhile. Mind you, I am continuing to ignore The Inner Perfectionist Who Perpetually Wants To Sort And Clean Stuff. I am going to read, relax, and stretch assorted parts that are stiff after all the time they spent in the car recently.

@HonnyBrown: did you mean that 'they' took the tv to the dump? If so,that facility might be equipped to handle e-waste and their policy was upheld. ?

Produce run, errands, polishing bedroom and dining room furniture.

I did a demo today and then we had my stepdaughter over for dinner and wine, her last night in town before flying back to Texas. But we will see her again in a few months when we go there.
Since selling contract ended with no good news, I am happy to be out of it and relax for upcoming surgery. I did sign on with another Agent to find me a 6 month renter and put house back on market beginning of April.
I feel confidant he will sell it then....more plans to be released then, thanks for listening.
Happy Jewish holiday and New Year starting Sept. 9th....enjoyed Temple today.

Sandy, if you've gotten all that done in 3 months as a DIY project, I think you've done GREAT!! I could never do all that stuff.
Mum, so glad to hear there was nothing serious found! I don't blame you for not taking a birth control pill.
Work. Grocery store (not a shop). Finish plants & get their stuff outta the house! Errands.

I find this amazing.

Besides the usual, I'm trying to finish remodeling the bathroom, a task that has proven to be at the top of my DIY skill set. I don't know what I'd do without YouTube, where I have learned how to put up drywall, move electrical outlets, take the gross textured ceiling stuff down, replace the faucets on the sinks, and take out a shower stall that was about the same size as my desk. I've been working on this task for a couple months now, and I am SO READY to be done with it.
@guysmom.. Thanks. I am glad you agree. For a moment, I was doubting my decision. Birth Control Pills have their own risks but the doctor was not ready to listen to me. She finally threw her hands up in the air and said " Your results are normal. Do what you want."

Not knowing your relationship with this doctor, it's hard for me to imagine, but if my doctor said/did that to me, not only would I feel hurt, I would look for another doctor. Doctors who can't understand our feelings about the KNOWN RISKS of certain medications may have lost whatever compassion they may have had (or maybe they never had) for their patients!!
As a brief example, years ago I had a drs appt with a surgeon, referred by my dr...I was taken to the exam room, had my vitals taken by the med assistant, clothing removed for the appropriate area, and then LEFT in the EXAM ROOM for OVER AN HOUR waiting for this doctor!! Finally, I dressed back up and left, went up to the desk, told the receptionist that MY TIME was worth something, and don't they DARE send me a bill for ANYTHING because I would NOT pay it, and left. Explained to my dr, found a great surgeon, and all went well.
So Mum, don't settle for LESS than you deserve in getting proper medical care by a dr who understands!!

Sure you could. You just have to be brave/foolish enough to start it. Then you're stuck finishing it. :-) And it's really not all that amazing. I got a couple of quotes on getting the work done by contractors. Turns out it would have been about $8,000, and they would not commit to getting it done within any certain time frame! I just wish I had the knowledge and skills to add a window to a big expanse of wall on the side of the tub. Not even going to try. Even I am not brave/foolish enough to cut a big hole in the house.

Speaking to "rude, not caring Dr's", I agree, your primary Dr. needs to be trusted regarding your health.
I had severe light headiness and a skip in my heartbeat, thought I was going to faint, went home called my wonderful Dr., and told to get right in....he immediately asked questions and gave me an EKG where they found my bundle block on the left side (worst side). Awaiting appointment Oct. 9th. and see what has to be done,
Time is of the essance, I'm so lucky my doc takes me seriously and when I call, see's me by the next day, always.
Today is start of Jewish New Year, and last night late I got an email from Scheduler asking/begging to get a small job done in my mall by today. Not planning on working today, I wrote back and said o.k. I will do it, could I have a small bonus for the trouble....haven't heard a word, and I'd have to spend $20.00 on a purchase and wait two months for reimbursement, nothing in this holistic store I'd buy for myself, not happy with them at this moment.

@guysmom.. My gynae was on vacation and she was the best I could find. However, you are right. I am never going back to her again.
I went to the indoor mall at lunch to get my steps in. After I got home, I put accidentally thawed out chicken breasts in a marinade to smoke later.

More of the same. We had to break the one planned project into two parts. It's okay. At the end of the day, something will be completed.

Talking of the mall... I was at a mall recently. Briefly, I considered walking the mall to get a few steps and find out what is still there. Then, I realized that the mall directory is online. I went home and did a different type of workout. My feeties thanked me.

I am learning to drive AGAIN! Well, I got my license in 2014 but my crippling fear of driving kept me away from my car for yet again 5 years. My parents didn't let me drive when I had an accident back home on my two wheeler. My husband taught me how to drive but I chickened out again. Determined to overcome my fears, I took a driving lesson last Tuesday from a school and I was back on the road today!! I did it. I went to the grocery store!! Now, I just got to take it slow and not let my fears stop me.
It took a couple of hours, but I finished my report from last night's train trip. Now I'm free to explore Little Rock until late tomorrow evening (I have to arrive at the station at 10:45 PM). Only problem is that it's 90 degrees outside, really too hot to get any good walking in.

After work was a wine run and then home to do homework.

Had my amazing lunch (no job) and ordered the bone marrow taco, amazing...saw this great place on yelp,
one of a kind. Came home and sprained my right middle finger, now it's standing straight out and I'm typing
with one finger, tomorrow the Dr., and a splint. and the library.

Right now it's still in my suitcase for the return trip--I'm checking to see how the Customer Service Rep handles an overweight bag. When I get home I'll put it in the deep freeze until I need some in a week or two. (I know that grains don't need to be frozen, but it helps keep the critters out and provides bulk to help the freezer operate more efficiently.
