What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

That HAS to exist somewhere!

ETA: Wicked Wine Run!

Today's wine run was actually a walk. After I left church, I walked to the neighborhood wine store and picked up a malbec. I walked home with it in my backpack.

Honny, that brought to mind of drunken people running with wine glasses, LOL!!!!

We have a Day Sippers tour that takes you out to all the wineries in a jitney/shuttle bus type thing so that you don't have to run with your wine glass. It is fun as heck! I bought a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and rode 3 miles with it in my backpack. I can fit 3 big bottles AND a six pack in there smiling smiley

Because I added extra work, the project that 'should' have been finished yesterday (which was one week after the initial finish date) will continue for another two weeks (or so). I like this relaxed approach to work. I have earned three times my monthly goal, and the only casualty is the living room. It still has a clump of stuff to be sorted, a stack of stuff to be recycled, and a smattering of stuff to be removed. The Inner Perfectionist finds this Intolerable. 'Do You Hear Me? Absolutely Intooooooolerable!' But the rest of me is pleased. grinning smiley

I love backpacks! My malbec was actually a box, so it was four bottles.

I can walk forever when I do it for exercise. Being without a car was something different. I actually took a Lyft from my house to Car Dude. It was only a mile.

I got the walking bug from my Mom. She would walk up to 5 miles a day until she got sick. She lived in a great place where you could walk to 4 or 5 bus or train stops in less than 5 minutes and she was a block from "downtown". I love to walk, but I can ride my bike for hours just for fun.
I love those boxes of wine, the only problem is you can't see how much you have drank/left. lol

After finishing the early AM job at 1 PM yesterday because no one could start work until the deadline to complete it, and because we filled in for someone who had to go to another job, there was a little time for personal fun. I learned a bit about the secondary book market; found a good fleece that is roomy enough to accommodate three layers, which feels wonderful at 2AM; and did not have the energy to try or appreciate a new-to-me restaurant. It's okay. On the way home, we saw the golden part of Autumn foliage. It was vibrant in a few places. If we take the same route in a few weeks, we will see a larger palette of fall. Today, I am 'supposed' to stay at home and do nothing more than catch up on house tasks.

You have to guestimate by the weight of the box how much wine is left. That doesn't always work, so I keep an emergency bottle in the fridge.

Or, when the box feels somewhat light, and it is difficult to get a good flow into the glass, open the box. Remove the plastic "bladder" that holds the wine and "spigot" and it will be easier to dispense the remaining wine AND to see how much remains. ( Don't forget to flatten the box and add it to your cardboard recycling bin ! )

Best of everything to you in your new job, Honny! Let us know how it all goes after you've gotten your feet wet!
For the past month my job has been to get the house ready to go on the market. My job spreadsheet for the month is downright anemic-I've only done two jobs this month. The house is beyond messy, but tomorrow the last big job (new carpet) will begin.

Well, hubby & I were away Fri-Sun. So today, I've got to do a little housecleaning and a bit of grocery shopping to make up for that not getting done on Fri & Sat.
Work. Nap. Tasks & Errands. (The usual.)

Today was the first of two scheduled days for new carpet installation. They moved the family room furniture (that holds the wires for the wi-fi) mid-morning, and it was off the rest of the day. Without the opportunity to surf the web I cleaned out EVERY mystery shopping folder on my computer. Got rid of over 2,000 photos and felt good about myself :-)

The first day at work was pretty awesome! I read up on different plans and policies, signed up for my benefits and went for a walk at lunch.

@HonnyBrown: It sounds like your first day was pleasant. Yay! smiling smiley

This day will soon be already many life times ago. This is a good thing. Until then, I will blend lots and lots of beloved things with the dratted, dreaded, unwanted thing. After that, I will feel a gazillion times better and start to get a handle on my upcoming merch schedule. There are miles, hours, and back [pssst!, ahem, AHEM!, twinge, squick, screech, squawk, freeze, and full-blown keening] factors to consider. I have not seen the supplies yet, so I do not know how much will fit in the big beast. But it fends off the un-fixable, hideous, unwanted thing of today (which will soon be in the past, thank G).

Sometimes, ignorance/possibly idiocy is bliss.. In my zeal to gather up every needed thing on my way to out-of-town and near nature, which is where I preferred to be for the unprintable unprintable, I forgot the most important thing. oops. When I realized this, there was time to scurry home and fetch it. However, something else was happening just then... mil was venting to hubby on his phone, and that conversation was not to be disrupted. imho, this was the most important thing in that moment. tptb might have a different opinion. But they have not met mil, and they have not experienced her assorted difficulties of late. For the unprintable unprintable, my role is to be apprised-- not to participate. For mil, my role was to sit quietly and wait... I think I did the right thing...

Today was a great day at work, then a dinner shop, and home to do the shop report and homework.

ETA: Okay, I did more "This Is Us" than homework. It was an excellent season opening!

Work. As much extra work as my little feeties will permit. (Think I will reward them with the expensive pedicure-- not a shop. They, and I, will relax and let the pros reach my feeties from angles that i never will be able to accomplish.) The good news is that I have time to spread out all the merches. At worst, I would finish several cities on Friday instead of Thursday, which is days ahead of all project deadlines. I know I said this before, but it is worth repeating: I really like this relaxed approach to working! grinning smiley

Oldest Son was in town for a work meeting, so he came by the house and culled through his childhood/teenage mementos. He decided he could get rid of the equivalent of a banana box full of memories, took a full suitcase of items with him, and left two boxes here to retrieve at a later date.
