What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I am not surprised by the iced coffee....it's become the thing lol.
Funny enough, I remember where I had my first one ever and it was a novelty then.

It was a hot summer and people were scarfing them...such a big deal for everyone at the time.
I bet Balduccis was making a killing. They always did because they were so good....at everything.

I never drank coffee when I was younger. Although I always thought it smelled good brewing, but tasted burnt. Then I retired early at 53. Tried my first iced coffee that summer...probably was a salted caramel mocha and got hooked. It's like a cold liquid chocolate bar. To be honest, I find them too sweet now. If I buy one now I usually blend it in thirds with straight black coffee that sat overnight in the refrigerator.

I'm on a business trip. I'm staying at Extended Stay America on the company's dime. It is awful! They charge for cups, flatware, plates, etc. I went to WaWa and got plastic flatware and a cup for my wine.

I've never ever ever heard of a hotel charging guests to rent eating utensils and plates/cups.
Wow.
Of course, we stayed at a Wyndham location over the weekend that didn't have WiFi in the rooms, although it was advertised as such. That's just wrong.
7- Eleven April Fools Donut is Toothpaste/mint flavored. I tried it so no one else had to. I thought All of those working in C-stores today might appreciate knowing. I was to curious not to try it.
Funny @rargirl. I took brown EEEs to school. In a pan. Grade 2 thought it was a good prank.
I got back from my trip yesterday. Pepper meowed once and went to her empty wet food dish. What a warm welcome.

That's a cat welcome. The stray cat in our yard comes up to the window to stare in when it's dish is empty, but just hisses at us when we step out to feed it.
Did you miss me? I haven't done a shop for almost 2 weeks!

We just got back from a trip to Venice, or Venezia for you Italians. The then-city-state is considered to have been the first real international financial center, emerging in the 9th century and reaching its greatest prominence in the 14th century. This made Venice a wealthy city throughout most of its history.

We walked through the islands just imaging what it must have been like in it's day. Went everywhere by boat. Enjoyed a cappuccino almost every morning. Excellent scallops, sea bass, and tiramisu made in front of us at our table. More than a few gelato desserts while walking around.

I miss standing on the floating dock as it gently sways while we await the vaporetto to board and travel to another place on the lagoon.
Just enjoying a bit of time off of work for Spring Break. The family spent a few days in the mountains of Tennessee. Now just enjoying taking it slowish.
Home caring for my sick kiddo. Been an awful week. Hopefully, things will be better next week.

Kids are more resilient with common illnesses. I picked up something at the end of our recent trip, got home and tested myself for COVID, came up negative. I now assume it's simple cold or flu and most symptoms subsided. I recall more than a few people in the narrow Venice streets coughing without covering their mouths.
Mum, keeping fingers crossed for you.

Slowly rising this morning to pack up and leave. We're driving to Orlando for a 3 night stay ....a relaxation gift for the past month's work on the road and feeling a bit homesick...actually.
On Monday, we put the vehicle on the Amtrak AutoTrain and start the trip homeward.
yeah! spring! flowers! (Lilac season will be coming!) fresh green grass...breezes. Easter festivities next weekend with my family. Cuddles and Easter eggs with the little kiddos.

The past month has been awfully hard. Xrays, cultures, blood tests and ER visits. My daughter suddenly had a fever a month ago and then she started going to the bathroom to pee very often. No UTI's, culture was clear. She had to run every 2 minutes. Monday she had stomach ache so we ran to the ER at night fearing appendicitis. The doctor said that it was constipation that may have been a result a a virus that came with the fever. They gave her an enema and prescribed laxatives. They take time but she has been so miserable. She keeps running to the bathroom to pee. The doctor said with two or three BM's, everything should be fine. Let's see. Super stressed out.
