What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

@mum, I can't think of anything he needs to sign. The ski pass needs to be signed on the iPad or phone screen. I'll just go with the facsimile I printed from the website. It says "Super Senior" so good!

He can, then choose to sign or just pick it up when we go skiing. That's what we usually do.

Off to the city for one of Hubby's many appointments. That's the real fun of being a Super Senior!

two shops, two errands
spending the night in a historic hotel - my last stay here was as a kid in 1972. My grandmother brought me here for a trip.
Ironically, my parents spent their wedding night here...so it's got emotions for me here....
Went for an annual gynae visit last week and had the doctor message a facility for a mammo and ultrasound. Turns out, she never sent the order. She was just going on an on about how I should use their location and not some outside facility. This happens every year! What are they up to? Finally, had to call them twice and they somehow lose the fax number for the facility. Then they call me back for the fax and I am hoping the order would be in. I don't know if they are just being careless or purposely doing this every year so I will schedule with them.

Funny thing..as I was typing this. I did get a call that they finally have the order but nothing until Sept. That will do.

Spent 7 hours trying to fly out of here for a business trip. Four of them sitting on a plane that never took off. Exhausted and accomplished nothing. However, I am happy to be home with my family.
@Mum, glad it worked out for you. I went for mine last week. Was there bright and early only to have them try and reschedule me 2.5 hours later due to a BS excuse. Not happening. I got it done and was out of there 25 minutes later.
I am watching Loudermilk on Netflix.

Broke a favorite insulated glass mug while preparing tea. Glad I bought some more. Direct vertical drop from the edge of the countertop and went splattering everywhere, even to all corners of the contained floor. Spent the morning doing a deep cleaning to get all of the glass shards. Got a good workout with old school squatting and wax on/off. Going to spend some time to clear out countertops.
I hope you got all the glass @Okie

Be careful in there for awhile. Even though I thought I deep cleaned thoroughly when I broke a big glass jar, I found a glass shard in a far away corner underneath some counters weeks after. I did not walk inside my kitchen barefoot for many months after.

Be strong. I am a five year survivor and after radiation had to go through 2 years of PT. Only now beginning to feel like my old self before the diagnosis. It will take time. But recovery will happen with patience.
On my way home. It's so hot but relief on the railroad. Worked my butt off but did attend a scrumptious business luncheon.
Some scammer called my in laws saying their son in the US had killed 4 people in a car accident and they need to send money to bail him out. They were obviously scared at first but realized quickly that it was some kind of scam. They called us at 4 in the morning to make sure everything was okay. We went back to sleep. my husband called his dad later and said "Thanks dad for sending the money. I just walked out of prison!"
Worked from home. So relieved I didn't have to commute in this heat. Picked my Mom up with #3. Her car registered 103 degrees when we got in it. We went out to dinner at a vegetarian restaurant. So good. Neighbors started blasting their music accompanied by a live trombonist at 11PM.. Not for long as DH, the mayor walked on over. Our windows are shut but the bass and trombonist was so, so LOUD.

@Mum, so sorry your in-laws were subjected to this! Glad that they were able to call you and find out everyone was OK!
Saturday was the surprise 80th BDay party for Hubby. The Porta -potty guy delivered Friday and said "Happy Birthdays" grinning smiley.
But so many surprises after that. And he had a really good time!
Doctor's appointment on the wrong day.

In my HSA I transferred $10K from money market to S&P500 at close of business Monday. Don't time the market smiling smiley
Waiting for our used appliance guy to deliver a used Whirlpool washer this afternoon. Our Whirlpool washer has been dying for a while.....grinding and stopping mid-cycle, only to go again after a rest...cringing, squeaking belt-type noises. We bought this last used Whirlpool washer from him probably around 8-10 years ago, and it's worked great up until about the last 3 weeks, so we've gotten our money's worth. I don't want ANY type of washer with computer panels on them!! Plus, I want an agitator in the washer tub, top-loader. He's a good, honest man, sells at a fair price, warranties for 30 days, and offers extended warranties at $8/month. So we'll get an additional 12 month warranty.
laundry, packing, getting ready for a long weekend trip away to Massachusetts with my sister....while there, a live concert, some poker, some dining out, some fun, then visiting nephew and his new fiancee in NY....looking forward to this - we need the time...we need to decompress. Coming back to a double bonused spa shop next week - all around good deal.
Did some regular shopping. Sales tax-free weekend here in Texas, along with some back-to-school sales. Also, used up some gift cards in the process. Made out well with shoes and clothes.
Spa shop (yeah!)
errands
Korean restaurant for lunch
hair cut
trying out new Asian grocer for food shopping
iced coffee then home to relax
Came back from our trip to Michigan on Friday. Five fabulous days in the mountains, hiking and visiting beaches. This time we went to Mackinac Island too but I prefer Marquette. School starting on Sept 4th. This year we had more vacation time because of construction in the District. I have some sub jobs lined up.
Mum, I was there on business for 3 days recently. Managed to take a walk by the Mississippi River and attend an outdoor food fest. It is beautiful.
