What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Free grooming aka diy hair trim. Clean two rooms. Lots of laundry.

Substitute teaching at a Hutterite Colony. First time at this one this school year. Nice to see the kids again.
Moving Day is upon us! Tomorrow, movers will haul all the furniture. We already moved 99 percent of our stuff in boxes everyday. As I look at this nearly empty house, I am grateful that it was our home for the last ten years but a bit sad to leave it. It is the first house that we both bought together. Well, to new beginnings.
I will start subbing in May when we are all settled. I can now walk to my daughter's school and sub there!
Very ambitious, prince. I will stop after vacuuming and laundry.

Woke up with gimpy right hip. I am having to use a cane to walk, so have only one hand free to accomplish anything when I am not standing still. As my mother said, "aging aint for sissies." I suspect that I will order dinner delivered from the local, excellent, Chinese restaurant. One entree will provide at least 3 meals for me.

@Shop-et-al, I did laundry, didn't even stay off the couch long enough to do vacuuming LoL
@walesmaven , I hope your hip feels better quickly.

These things do add up as we go on!
blood drawn, shopping at the fish monger, Thai lunch, family meeting, Prime TV series...relax....knee was sore, took Ibuprofen and it worked...
After spending most of yesterday watching u tube stuff about various Amtrak trains (love train travel) and getting 10 hours of sleep, I am walking without the cane this morning. Need to accomplish more today: groceries from Aldi, finish KP, possible trip to Staples for office supplies.

have a feel better story, too. realized that competing in june's journey events was making me and my eye muscles tense. quit the beloved team and eventually started a club. mind you, i will always be the only member because i cannot figure out the invitation system and most people will want the option of competing. so my eyes feel better.

@prince. Thank you. It did go well. We are all settled in our new home. Getting used to going up and down and sometimes, it is a PITA. Switching to gas after cooking on induction for so long. The pot handles got so hot, I burned my fingers once or twice. Still have pics and clocks to hang but that is not my job. But, love the backyard and my daughter loves the swing!
First sub job since the move at my daughter's school. I was a floating sub and the school is blocks away from my house so I walked. My daughter is also walking to school and we canceled the bus service since we moved.
Still getting used to going up and down and I never leave the room without grabbing something to avoid trips. Slipped from the stairs yesterday. Luckily, a few scrapes and a broken phone screen protector.

Our new neighbors are very kind people. We have an older couple who have been living for 20 years and the husband was kinda staring at my clueless husband as he was haphazardly mowing the lawn for the first time. He came and offered to help. Showed him how to do it correctly. Both of them are very sweet and kind.

Second happy place yesterday, an all day hike. Wow, I barely made it. Woefully out of shape.
Not working today, so time to finish unpacking, laundry, clean, unclutter and organize the whole house. Once and for all. lol
Cool, drizzly, and just right as backdrop for plangent foghorn...

It was a reverse Circle of Life Day
Funeral in the late morning followed by touring a nursing home for an elderly relative. Closing the circle was the yummy slice of Birthday Cake for husbands birthday.
Well, didn't get much done yesterday. I'll attempt progress today and must finish book for book club this afternoon
Spent an hour searching for misplaced Pigeon Royalty on the island. It happens when I move things around... my island becomes its own hidden object puzzle... And after errands will look for the Blooming Rock which is playing hide and seek. This one might pair well with Bell Enclave...sort of Zen-like, you know...

I am wrapping up grading the 3 classes I taught at Salt Lake Community College this semester.

Have synthesizers, will travel...
hmm. Wooga, maker of June's Journey, invites people to submit selfies and captions regarding what the person is doing to save the planet. No one will want to see me doing anything. And, no one will care about custom homemade products in reusable containers and free of packaging materials. These practical little things just do not generate any buzz. !

I volunteered at the food bank this morning. I made kale yesterday. I used sausage instead of bacon.

@@HonnyBrown: what was the dish that included kale and sausage?

I replaced the 4WD axle disconnect on our truck. An aluminum case decided to FUSE itself to another aluminum part. It took 2 days of drilling and grinding to carefully extract the failed part which had one of three bearings fail. Runs fine again after a test drive. Thank goodness that task is over.
