What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Froze my butt off today. Sympathetic Managing Partner called telecommuting for the rest of the week. Snow expected. I am so thankful as I am now a freeze baby.

"What do you do to repurpose beautiful cards?"
It depends on the card. Some I just reuse the front glued to a folded over piece of card stock. Some I can cut down to get rid of the signature but it still looks like a whole card. Sometimes I'll take the front, put it on top of same sized card stock, punch holes at the top and tie together with ribbon to form a two page card. Sometimes cards have thinner paper inside with the verse and signatures. I remove the inner paper and either replace it or cover damaged spots with a strip of ribbon. Gorsh being able to post photos here would help. I always write 'Repurposed by Rho' on the back so no one thinks I'm trying to pass off used cards as new.
Snow Day tomorrow! Yay! A little more time to catch up on work and cleaning, and laundry.
Snowed in today. I had fun watching Pepper discover snow.

I think I can only work one day in a row anymore. LOL
Lovin' this peaceful day. Time to think, read, and contemplate a musical arrangement.

Very productive day. Worked 8+ full hours and accomplished more than I ever would have if I were physically at the office. Cleaned, made dinner. Had fun listening to my IPOD that I finally found. Makes cleaning much more enjoyable. Love the Bee Gees. Gave furry baby love a belly rub and lots of love.
My video doorbell kept ringing with no human alerts or intervention. I tried resetting it, etc. Ding Dong I disconnected it. Baby love perks up everytime it rang. Crazy lady home alone with baby love.
Call that a voodoo video doorbell ?

Trying to find attributions (cannot get to library book or afford to replace lost book). Did Marcus Aurelius say that you have power over your mind- not outside events? This is similar to one about the way we think about a problem likely escalates or ends the problem.

Just finished American Nightmare on Netflix. Appalling how the police and FBI could be so inefficient. All the shows that we see about FBI and their forensics seemed meaningless once you watch this 3 episode series.

Meanwhile, husband came back from India from his business trip bearing gifts. He barely had time for tea and then he took our daughter to her basketball practice. Today was just cleaning up, laundry, and putting away suitcases.
Worked and on my dinner break now. Bleak, dreary day. Two DDs went to Trader Joe's after work and then to pick up their Grandmama. Snow tomorrow, so she will be safe and cared for here. Waiting for them to arrive home.
Water Zumba at the gym, then walk around the area. Yesterday and today it's been 'normal' cold (in the 30s) instead of sub-zero, and almost feels warm. Did some batch cooking. Hubby's physical therapist told him he needs to do more walking, so drove him to the mall so he could do it safely.

Went to work in grade one. Found out the teacher entered me by mistake. But the grade five teacher had to go home sick. So grade 5. Grade one the next two work days. Confirmed in person! Lol
2024: Flower of the year is peony. Plant of the year is philodendron.

Bach is not noise, Madam. (Robert, in Two's Company)
I had a peony bush at my last house. It did okay, but without a lot of attention it never really thrived. Every year when it reached peak blooming I could count on a hard rain coming down and knocking the petals off.

I like peonies. Haven't succeeded at growing them

I have two huge deep pink peony bushes in the front of my house for the past 20+ years. My Mom planted cuttings from her bushes. I love them and receive compliments and admiration all the time. They are my avatar everywhere DH cuts them down at the end of the summer as per my Mom's instructions. She has the greenest thumb. They smell so good when they bloom but don't last long. Wilting and the petals fall off quickly.. If I cut some and place in a vase, they will wilt within a day or two. My most senior houseplant is a huge philodendron my friend gifted me 22 years ago. I love spider, coleus and jade plants. What are some of your favorite house plants? I have yet to keep a orchid alive.
I never met a houseplant I didn't like. At one point, we had a small jungle near windows instead of a dining room. More recently, we got rid of all houseplants because hubby was constantly watering succulents, etc. Peonies are lovely to behold!

Luckily, Hubby keeps the houseplants alive, including the Orchid. My favourite right now is the Christmas Cactus.
Ignore the Orchid, give it 4 ice cubes every Saturday.
When it loses its blooms, it's not dead. It may take months before it blooms again.
I have not shopped in about 7 years and have started updating my profiles to accept shops again. In this time I have moved to a new state & don't know my area very well so this shall be very interesting. I have a list of over 300 companies from before and pulled another 30+ off of this group that I did not work for before. (I didn't work for all of those but I was active.)

So today I am going to shopping sites and signing back up. It is very cold here so it's a good day to be in the house. I am literally still in PJS and sitting in my bed. LOL. + Would love any recommendations on newer companies that I may not be aware of.
Welcome back!

Woke up to a light layer of ice. No surprise, because every news and social media outlet couldn't stop talking about it last night. It is now 10:30, and the temperature must be above freezing because I can see water dripping from the icicles on the eaves.

Grade one today. Grade 4 tomorrow.
Made a lentil walnut loaf for Meatless Monday. Yay for me, nay for Hubby LOL
Pesky little tasks. Start new book. Found a doable wintertime gig and am waiting for bonus. Finally found profitable gig day for my fave road trip. Waiting for more car repairs before scheduling and making the trip. May not have the exact same gigs then as today but some combination of gigs will make it worthwhile.

Hubby had physical therapy this afternoon and got the OK to ditch his crutch and put 100 percent of his weight on his broken ankle, as long as he wears his walking boot! He was looking for a place to walk, and decided on IKEA. We also ended up having dinner there.

Woke up in the middle of the night to drop off Husband at airport for a 6:40 A.M. flight. It was still dark when I returned home an hour later. Several naps were on the schedule during the remainder of the day.
