What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

We had an email from the District that schools might close due to inclement weather but nothing happened last night. Schools were open. It is just a few hours ago that it started snowing a lot. Husband's company is sending him for a few days to India on business. Meanwhile, I'll have trouble sleeping for a few days.

Dropped Hubby off at physical therapy. It was raining, so I drove to Walmart and walked the aisles for steps. When it was time to pick him up the rain had stopped, so I came home for lunch and then walked up to the post office with mail to send. (Because of a rash of checks stolen from home mailboxes we no longer put any type of payment in our outgoing box.)

The bedroom closet is about three quarters of the way done. Hubby has to figure out what shelf configuration works for him and I will go and buy materials for that.

Love this news: Stephen Fry will host a new Jeopardy show. This makes me want to subscribe to something that airs this new version of Jeopardy.

dun-dun-duuuuuuunnnnn... June's Journey is showing more of the plot now. Is Sam a dirty cop, Virginia's father, the person who left similar boot prints in his office and at the crime scene, borrowing an office (as in Charade), and/ or framing Eddie? Inquiring minds want to know...

Glad you are enjoying the story in the game. Several really cool characters show up long term. People who are helped send gifts later. All sorts of developments await!

Big grocery haul at Aldi. Need to finish kitchen clean-up and do some laundry. I "sorted" the contents of my freezer and found that I will not need to buy meat or seafood any time soon. Fortunately, everything in stock was well sealed and is well preserved.

Today was my day to cook staff lunch at the church. There is a tradition of celebrating people's birthdays with cake; since it's MY birthday this week (tomorrow) the office assistant purchased one so I didn't have to get my own. I decided to keep the meal simple, opting for frozen toasted ravioli, salad, and Italian bread. The only thing I did from scratch was the marinara sauce from a very easy recipe. I figured the food would be a hit and I was right.

Tonight I will finish installing the supports in the office closet. Maybe do the brackets and shelves also.

Performed my second transmission fluid "transfusion" by extracting another 3.5 qts from the dipstick tube and refilling with new fluid.

Also grateful that the recent heavy rains didn't knock out power and stop our basement sump pumps from operating.
Seems we watched a lot of TV today. A bit of knitting. Tried a soufflé recipe. Pretty good.

Just gearing up to leave at 7 AM when it's -37°C.
Buses aren't running, but people get those kids to school!
Grocery shopping along with what seemed everyone else and their brothers as Chicagoland gears up for a predicted snowstorm.
Grocery shopping, bank visit. Kitchen clean up. Rx refill.

Finish book, organize small objects into lidded containers, tell perfectionist me this is good enough and averts a new shelving system and therefore stay clam and sleuth on, and eventually find out what June plans to do about ol' Sam. This is only my day twelve and the penultimate scene of chapter four... How many days and chapters are in this game?

New stuff is added to the game all the time. Lots of interesting characters, new mysteries, . If you have not joined a club/group, send me a PM and I will suggest one that is low key and that can help you to earn more goods and services for the game.

Thank you, walesmaven. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Two big building projects will be installed then and might propel me to more diamond-getting activities. Need them to reciprocate with the plant gifts. ! This game keeps me busy and prevents news overload. Otherwise, I would do nothing but watch for and glom onto every tidbit about disqualification. Still think that without an additional modifying clause, to remove or replace the stated and specific expiration date, there is no foundation in the 14th amendment for this proposed action. As it is, the use of the notion was to end-- and really did end-- on July 4, 1870. Wish I could have majored in Constitutional matters, or something...

Worked. Not enjoying commuting in this frightful weather. It's pelting rain and storming out now with high winds. We went out for a family dinner at a local seafood restaurant. So delicious and we made it there and back home before the weather turned horrible AGAIN. Walked furry baby love before the rain, YAY!
My phone says it's -45°C. I'm so glad I have no committments today.
Sitting by the fire reading, so far. Time to unclutter, organize and clean the whole house.!

Sunny, slick, and cold out there.
Warm, toasty, and safe in here.

Learned that Ipsos conducts opinion polls. Who knew. Tried to calculate the dollar value of all the unpaid and underpaid labor I have performed over the years.

Another day to stay indoors and hunker down with good book and good music.

Sure is. We’re watching First Man about Neil Armstrong. I should be reading my book club book
It snowed today. It didn't stick. I got fake nails in my beauty box. I tried them out yesterday.

Several months ago my office computer lost the ability to print. Today Youngest Son came and helped me figure out why.

More never ending laundry. Vacuumed. Made 3: beautiful hearts for the "I Found a Quilted Heart" endeavor. I don't want to give them up so will have to make more. Had a lovely time with my family at home. So blessed.
Several loads of laundry, made a vat of chili that should have been enough for 2 dinners but DH was so hungry there is only enough left for one lunch, watched DH bring in lots of firewood for the next week, repurposed greeting cards that were too beautiful not to pass along to someone else, looked up "I Found a Quilted Heart endeavor" and started thinking about sewing a few.
Slept late after twenty thousand step day yesterday; aiming for ten thousand steps and a finished book today. Think this means the stenosis dragon is at bay indefinitely, if not yet slain.

Just be productive at something. 4th day in a row of -40°C temps. So lucky I wasn't scheduled to substitute teach, or to do any mystery shops.. I can be productive inside.

First some paperwork for school division.

Kolache breakfast shop/date. Deep Water aerobics class at the Y. A trip to the mall or some big box store for steps. Chipotle dinner as a treat to myself.

My DD found a Quilted Heart a while ago and was thrilled. It made her day. My Mom and I love making them. I leave them hanging on trees, in bushes, library bulletin boards , on mass transit seats, etc.
What do you do to repurpose beautiful Christmas cards? When DDs were young, they would make bookmarks, collages, gift tags.

Chili sounds good!
