What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I didn't make it to the 6am Spin class. I was awake and alert, but glued to my bed. There is another class tomorrow, but I will aim for the Saturday morning class instead. The WaWa Hoagiefest commemorative cups are out. I grabbed one this week.

9:15 Spin class! When I lived in Los Angeles, I had to get to the gym an hour early to get a seat in the 9:15 Spin. Fast forward ten years, I can reserve a spot online. I get to the class and it's half full.

One of our neighbors gave us a freshly grown, huge zucchini! So tonight I made a batch of fresh zucchini-oatmeal-chocolate chip cookies. Man, are they good!!
Spin class! The instructor uses weights in his class.

I will drop Thunder Cat off. She is being a real jerk. She strolled in from the rain, muddy and wet. I walk to my bedroom to close the door. She zooms past me and jumps on my pillow. She's fired.

Spin class! After I was too exhausted to go grocery shopping. Time for Instacart. First, a nap.

Cooking, cleaning and general organizing around the house. Too hot and humid to go outside. So I made myself be productive. Highlight was a 2 hr chat with a friend that I haven’t spoken to in a while.
Finished binge watching Masterchef Australia. Two things that are missing? Thing one: the chef/judges had the fun mystery box challenge near the end of each series while Matt Preston, the food critic/judge, had nothing. So, here goes. Matt Preston is a rrreeeeaaalll crrrackuh! Thing two: the contestants often have to walk their dishes upstairs and go down again. Surely someone could devise a set that is more accessible for persons who cook and bake well but do not do stairs, especially while holding plates of food. What about little people who have competitive skills? Could someone build kitchens that are geared for the shorter height? Just a thought.

Shredded oodles of old stuff. Would like to stay awake for the fireworks but will probably fall asleep soon and miss them. Oh, well. Happy Fourth of July to all who observe! smiling smiley

The YMCA in my area uses an app to sign up for classes. I love knowing I don't have to get there early to guarantee I get a spot.

Dang heat and humidity. It is terrible. Working from home today. Wore my $6 Target clearance tank dress that I bought on clearance last year (I LOVE IT) to Trader Joe's. Bought frozen orange chicken and broccoli for tonight's shortcut dinner; Mango and Strawberry/Lemon ice pops, pasta, bananas, oranges and a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. I finished unpacking and will need to start packing again.
Today was hot. No Spin class tonight. I don't have the energy. My little cat went outside at about 8 last night. I She didn't return until 3am. I wasn't too worried, but that's the longest she's been out. No treats for her.

Quick trip to Nature and... muskrat! Watching the frolicking creature reminded me of a song from the 70's, Muskrat Love. Cute critter, cute song, and some nice comments about it on Youtube.

Home from eight day trip....laundry is started, mail is gone through. Cleaned up a cat hairball and a small spot of pee on the couch. The cat missed his litter box right before we left, and pet sitter reported he did the same thing once during our absence. I hope it isn't the beginning of big problems.

Work, spin class and food bank. The Director whom I am replacing was at the food bank tonight. It was her last day. Everyone wished her well. It was a tearful goodbye. Spin class has me hurting in some new areas!

One of my Echoes is dead. I know this, but I keep talking to it. The replacement is being delivered today.

Trying to choose a day and then schedule my first gig in nearly a year. This is a good thing.

Early start to the weekend pending early release from work torture in a few. I am going to make an arugula, hard boiled egg, tomato and cucumber (my neighbor's garden!) salad in balsamic dressing; fruit bowl with honeydew, cantaloupe, grapes, pineapples and strawberries.. DD's are getting 100 chicken nuggets from Wendy's for some poolside relaxation. I am halfway packed and will resume tonight. Looking forward to doing nothing tomorrow; then we are off for a great vacation. Happy Friday everyone.
Going out after 8 PM to walk the dog (Shih Tzu) on the back 9 of the adjacent golf course. May tote along my fishing rod and cans of worms for some quick fishing. Or walk backwards for 10 minutes along the cart paths.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

I volunteered at the food bank at 630am. After that, I did my shops and ran some errands. I got home at 2pm. I'm exhausted. I'm binge watching Downton Abbey again.

I got hero of the day for using regular shopping cart instead of electric cart. I got more steps this way, too. Hubby got hero of the day for fixing my shredder. Apparently, pages were not sufficiently separated and a thick batch got stuck. Based on tje frequency of the grunts, this may take awhile. But at least he is trying!

I love Downton Abbey!!!!! Rumba'd the hardwood floors. Followed up with a stick vac. High humidity even witb AC did not leave it feeling clean.
Last night we opened up the windows! Based on the forecast we'll be closing them before bedtime tonight or tomorrow morning but it was really nice to hear the sounds of nature as I drifted off to sleep.

Spin class this morning. Light grocery shopping, then home for a nap. It was longer than I expected.

A lovelyish hike.

Everyone voted to keep walking instead of stopping for lunch.
Choices were bake in sun to avoid mosquitoes
or shade and eaten alive. So we just kept going.
Done early so met Hubby at DQ to undo all the good.

Went for a little hike and then a grocery run. Next week is our vacation to Michigan. Looking so forward to it. Mum and Dad sold their 46 year old house finally and planning to buy a place near one of my sister's. It is bittersweet to think I won't see my childhood home again. Glad, I was there last November for one last hurrah.
Walk, clean, shred, and catch up on season two of Crime Scene Kitchen.
