What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Yoga last night helped get rid of some of the skiing stiffness.
Grade one became grade two when I arrived yesterday. So, not sure if I'll have grade 1 today¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I cooked chicken and rice in the slow cooker. It didn't turn out as flavorful as I imagined it would.

Going to a different branch of the gym (YMCA) specifically because I can do a pizza shop on the way home. The required lunch special (small pizza, salad, and drink) is a nice light lunch for Hubby and me.

Somehow agreed to sub for Junior high this pm.
Housework this am once I'm off the couch.
Had my dermatology appt this morning to cut out a cyst on the outer upper right eyelid. The dermatologist did a great job!! Stuck a bit of local anesthesia in first, which did sting for a few seconds, then got his blade and cut it out and I didn't feel a thing! Took all of 5 minutes from anesthetizing it to cutting it out. Great job! Then he froze off several spots on my face, neck, arms and hands that he said were from sun damage. So I'll look blotchy for a few days, but that's ok. Just glad to get that cyst off. It's been there so long that I can't remember! Probably 8-9 years!
On Saturday I'm doing a volunteer thing for work. My company manages the Department of Energy's Empower program. I work in the Home Energy Audits department. The other side of the program is fridge pickups. I will be at the Home Show helping folks get rid of their appliances.

Today was a volunteer thing at work. It was held in the parking lot of a small convention center. Inside the convention center was a Home Remodel Show.

I was a useless volunteer.

After, I visited a food bank. When I got home, Pepper met me at the door. She usually waits at the top of the stairs giving me a look like she's plotting my death. I was in such a rush this morning that I forgot to feed her.

I was at a strip mall today browsing in an Ace Hardware and walked past a Hear USA office and a Hollywood Feed store to go buy food at Krogers. All those CAN be shopped but not by me and not today>>cheezy grin<<
Hmmph. I could still do phone call shops on my cell phone, but I am not in a place where I have uninterrupted time and quiet. The hospital is great for healing but not for phone call shops.

Roasting 6 large chicken thighs. Some will then be frozen for future meals and a couple used for meals this week. 2 of these will make meat for 3 meals for me! Kitchen clean-up. If motivated, will finish tax returns. Searching online for someone to hire to deep clean half of my townhouse. Arthritis is telling me it is time to hire someone to do this at least once per month.
ETA: booked cleaning for Friday!

Cooked breakfast for priests, then swung by a restaurant for a carry out shop on the way home. The temperature is pushing 70, so after I finished the report took a walk. Youngest Son is coming for a late St. Patrick's dinner.

A rainy day here. Just finished some errors.... Now at home...I need to do some laundry, put in some shops, some work for work, dog walk and clean the kitchen. Not sure how much I'll get done. Ready for spring break.
Hope all is well @Shop-et-al.
I hope you get well soon @Shop-et-al
Today is somewhat productive. Got some laundry done, floors washed. Furniture out of bedroom in prep for painting and new carpet.
Dentist, bunch of errands, check out paint for bedroom. The reason I wanted it painted is to change the colour. Hubby wants to keep the colour! Renovation frustrations!
Morning trip to the gym and errands. This afternoon I will cook corned beef and cabbage for the priests.

Sigh. Hubby keeps saying I will never get over this. Hello? News flash: I am past the worst of the problem. Septicemia is gone and more than anything I need physical strength and assorted devices until my full strength and walking ability return. My happy reports of health improvements go in one of his ears and out the other. Anyway, now you know. Thank you for letting me write of health improvements and for the good wishes. smiling smiley

A rare day with nothing on the calendar. Depending on how accurate the forecast of rain is my walk will either be outside or at the mall.

Some things have a long recovery. Take care.

Household tasks for me today. Maybe start painting bedroom ceiling?
Deciding if I need to tape anything since everything will be painted.
@Shop-et-al, take care of yourself first, and get totally well. Hope you are back home soon.

Hoping to clean most of my windows today. They are the kind where you can slide the bottom one upwards and the top one downwards, and they open up inward!!! Makes cleaning the outside portion easy-peasy without having to go outside!
Earlier in the month I went to the dentist for a routine cleaning. After the procedure I stopped by the business office, where they told me the dentist no longer took my insurance. Yesterday I received an EOB which (predictably) showed they paid for only a small portion of the bill. Today I'm sending a complaint letter to the dentist office, asking them to eat the rest of the charges.

@KathyG
They should have told you about the insurance before treating you.

I'm going to write a letter to Helly Hansen, due to how fast Hubby's undershirt got holes. His last set lasted years.
Well, I got all my windows cleaned yesterday...inside and out! From the inside!!

I also stayed up till after 2 am working on developing a web site for our small church. I've never done this before, but felt a compelling urge to do so. I've bought the domain name and the actual hosting site, so that's good to go. So I've been on WordPress and watching Youtube tutorials. I found a GREAT tutorial done by a preacher for his church, that was an actual Webinar that he uploaded...step by step, for a church....just what I needed! There's also an app called Local, that lets you set up, basically, your own hosting service on your computer, so that NO ONE can see the web site you are developing except YOU! And it's FREE!!! And then, when you've got the site the way you want, there's a way to turn it into the actual "LIVE" site on your own host, or you can just go back to the "Live" Wordpress site and make your website based on how you did it on the local "host" site. Anyhow, I've gotta quite staying up till 2 am!! But I AM making GREAT progress!!
Sounds like a great learning opportunity @guysmom

I actually got a lot done in my house, for once. Now to tidy up after my cleaning and go do some errands.
In the morning a trip to the gym for Body Pump, then walked through an interesting residential neighborhood.

This afternoon we were going to watch the Cardinals Opening Day baseball game on TV. However, Hubby tried to turn it on and discovered that when he modified our Spectrum contract at the end of last year and selected new stations Bally Sports Midwest was not one of them. Instead of watching, we listened to the game on the radio. I got a lot done.

I went to the local county college dental school and had a student complete a full mouth x-ray set for $5. The downside? It took 2 hrs. I look at it like it's volunteer work in my community. They do cleanings as well for $5. But I'd rather have my dentist's hygienist do it for $130 in an hour. Cleanings take about 5 hrs at the dental school.
Last day of spring break. X-country skiing. Wash one wall in bedroom to say I did one thing towards getting bedroom painted.
