What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Oh, my! I am now down 92 pounds! This makes up for a lot f other stuff.

I also hypothesize that howling with tears, prayers, and fears burns many, many calories. It is a little embarrassing to be this old but not nearly as bold as I used to be. Pity anyone who could hear these noisy adaptations...

Hubby will deliver our tax docs to tax pro's office today. Great to have another data set out of my hands and in the next step of its process. In a perfect world, the printer will work properly today. *hopes, prays, affirms* If so, I can finish the actual end of my bankruptcy filing. There were just a few little details-- which was a happy surprise considering that I had to do this without an attorney, whom I could not afford. The recipient might have been more pleased with attorney-level polish on one completed submission, but they were polite and helped me. Bless them and bless them!

Because of winter weather my scheduled cooking shift was cancelled, but I didn't learn that until I was almost ready to leave the house. My newspaper horoscope encouraged me to "indulge yourself with household projects", "beautify spaces and nurture your household with hospitality", and "reduce clutter" so I'm going to tackle some long-put off projects. (Or at least think about doing them.)

Worked. Roomba and Swiffer were my best friends today. Prepped dinner during the late PM hours while working. Started another bag for a 6th grade fundraiser; a sister school in our district. My ladies are all leaving for a destination wedding cruise on Sunday. I am missing them already. :-( Lots of house traffic here. .
My first yoga class in months. Ten minutes before the class ended a woman on the other side of the room lost her balance and hit her head on the concrete wall so hard I could hear the impact. Although the woman just looked stunned, she thought some assistance might be a good thing. The instructor went off to find help and just like that the class was over.

We passed our citizenship test today! The oath ceremony should take place within a month. It was incredibly cold and snowing as we made our way downtown through the CTA. Taking our car would have taken hours since the traffic is really bad in the morning. The officer was really nice and though we did our interviews separately, we were done before our appointment time.
CONGRATULATIONS!

The mall by my house is trying a new concept in the food court. One of the stalls is a pop-up restaurant, which can be rented out by the week. This week there was a vegan concept, and Hubby and I ate lunch there. He had a black bean burger and I ordered 'chicken wings' (tofu based) and sweet potato fries. All were excellent.

Thank G I sent a proactive notice re: possible late submission of bankruptcy paperwork. I have several separate submissions and will send them as they are ready, to show good faith. Long story, which includes avoiding an egregious error! Now, we wait for Tuesday or Wednesday and Feb. money to get working printer and print. Mercy, a spark of the divine, and gratitude are in order here.

Serious part of day: Holocaust Remembrance.

Silly part of the day:
It is both chocolate cake day and Mozart would be 267. So. I decided to devise a chocolate-oriented snack that could somehow involve 267 or fewer calories. I did not have the foods on hand, but chose one WW fudge Fiber One brownie, one glass of unsweetened oatmilk, one half banana, and a few extra grams of fiber stirred into the milk. There is wiggle room for more milk and the actual size of the banana.

Pepper is fired. I let her outside yesterday and she came back with a squirrel carcass. She played with it all over my kitchen floor.

Food prep. Must use up almost the last few staples before more grocery shopping. But we made it it through this tough month and will get through next month, too.

The silly part of the day? I am creating blank game forms for word game. One column of word or phrase and several columns of categories where the answers-- words or phrases-- begin with the letters in the initial word or phrase. This is some sort of categories game which I cannot otherwise afford.

Oh, @Honny, thanks for that laugh!!! It brought back memories of a cat I had one time, about 40 years ago. He was both an inside and outdoor cat, and he loved to hunt. One day, I heard this LOUD "meowwwww" over and over again outside the kitchen window. I looked outside and kitty kitty had not only CAUGHT a squirrel, but had BURIED it and LEFT ITS TAIL OUTSIDE THE DIRT!! Like it was a special gift from him to me!!! He wanted to show me how clever and talented he was, and the tail was a present from him to me, waving in the wind, with the rest of the squirrel now underground! So I told him, "good kitty kitty" and lavished love and praise on him. So, Pepper was just showering you with a special gift to show you that he loves you! Hope you enjoyed it, haha!!!
Might be easier to wait until they all arrive. :-)

Oh, yuk. My worst nightmare was when I took furry baby love to the park. He brought back a dead mouse. Held out my hand, he deposited it and I then went screaming. Hang in there!

Picked up Mom early AM. Ladies were crazy tending to loose ends. House traffic unbelievable. DH is driving DDs to the airport at 5AM tomorrow. Empty nest until next Sunday.
I forgot that cats like to gift their loved ones with dead things.

I went to a food bank today. I came home with a lot of bread and fresh produce. They even had hummus.

I got my taxes done today despite not having all of my documents. I need the refund to jump start some home projects.

Computing costs and Income for Schedule C items; Same for rental property form. Once all of my computations are complete it is so easy to just fill in tax forms that I will skip Turbo Tax this year and do it all by hand. After more that 40 years of filing these same forms, and keeping up with IRS rules, I have a better use for my $$$ than buying the high end version of TT. This winter I have more time than money and for the price of Turbo Tax, I can have some really nice meals!
