What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Already finished the first step of tomorrow's two-layer jello salad (a mixture of jello, crushed pineapple, and walnuts). Will do top layer (Dream Whip, cream cheese, and marshmallows) tonight. At job I will prepare lunch for 10-12 people, then come home to enjoy almost-60 degree weather.

Thawing out ole' Tom for tomorrow. Also, Thanksgiving is the ONLY time when I will make home made stuffing like mom used to make.....stale bread, chicken broth, cut-up thighs, sauteed celery and onions, Bells Poultry seasoning, S&P, celery flakes, two eggs. Mix it all up and refrigerate till tomorrow. Stuff the turkey and bake the rest. Also, making brownies, lemon meringue pie and peach/blueberry cobbler today. Older brother, SIL and niece coming for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. We will really enjoy that, especially since they will be moving to Florida in a couple of weeks! (boo-hoo!!!)
Instead of gorging myself into a higher dress size tomorrow, I will be prepping my gallery wall. I'm painting the hallway black, the 5 doors whatever color the paint samples end up and leaving the trim alone.

My gorging will be done in a few weeks at Friendsgiving.

I like music. I specifically like great lyrics. The songs that have my heart this month are Girl Crush by Little Big Town and Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. Both are country songs.

Pepper gave me the stink eye when I made her food. Instead of the homemade chicken and carrots, I gave her canned food. She is so precious!

So glad I did not take PTO today. Logged out at 1PM. Went to Trader Joe's to purchase all required organic veggies and then some. It was packed with shoppers and frenzied. I am cooking my sauce overnight and have washed the turkey breast. Rubbed it all over with spices and olive oil. DH will pick up the fruit tart and bread tomorrow. The games will begin early AM. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Best regards.
Grade two this morning. I bit of Christmas stocking stuffers bought while I waited 15 minutes after fly shot. Wow, my arm is sore.

Happy Thanksgiving!
There. The only fussy part of the meal is ready and in the 'fridge. The fancy brussels sprouts took all of 10 minutes to halve, glaze, and blend with pecans. This dish has a wee bit of sweet and a wee bit of savory, neither of which overpower the individual colors and flavors of the b. sprouts and pecans. Yes, I am that oddball who loves the taste of veggies. Ah, subtle and easy peasy. Hoping that everyone will have such an easy time of prep and can enjoy the rest of the day. smiling smiley

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Pepper has claimed my puffy, white vest. She wrapped herself in it and is sound asleep.

Cancelling my plans for the next five (or more) days after a Covid test came out positive :-(

The positive news is that my symptoms are pretty minor so far.

Hope these mild symptoms are as bad as it gets and as far as the situation goes. "This faaahhh and no faaaaathaaaahhh!" Which character said that?! I just felt like saying it to your covid symptoms...

Today we had a crafty, relaxed afternoon. My Mom bought supplies to make these: [www.etsy.com]. Years ago, we had completed the hats. These came out adorable. We used pink pearls for the nose. We will gift them to office co-workers, friends and neighbors as well as keep many for our own tree.
Forging ahead with sorting and rearranging tasks-- and hoping to finish the current project by Wednesday. Looking forward to my beloved Christmas music. Yes, I specified the holiday. I called it by name and will add that I also look forward to the other seasonal music. We can and should have, celebrate, and enjoy all these types of music as well as Hanukkah and other music. We should no limit this music! !!!!!

Having a very rare, relaxing Saturday! Don't need to make any desserts for next week, because of all the Thanksgiving desserts still left. Only have to do a cursory housecleaning, because I cleaned house real good this past Monday, and again, Thanksgiving morning before our company got here for Thanksgiving dinner. So just a quick vacuum, only need to wash the kitchen floor, and of course.........clean the commodes!! (I have a thing about making sure the commodes are clean!!) But just enjoying chilling out!
We arrived home on Thanksgiving afternoon. It's been unpacking, cleaning, and stocking up essentials for the past two days. Had the most relaxing vacation at home and I usually never ever show any emotions when I leave but I cried a little during my flight to the US this time. It was so good to see my school, some friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles. I celebrated my birthday at home after 15 years. Loads of shopping and quality time with my sisters and parents. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Preparing for the next phase of healing and readying my world to follow health provider's suggestions and firm instructions. It all fits with what I can do, and everything will be in place as of Wednesday. Wish me luck! smiling smiley It is time for this condition to be reversed. !

Hoping that everyone enjoys the time between now and Christmas and/or other holidays that you observe. And if you observe no holidays, this is okay too. smiling smiley

I stopped by Goodwill (not a shop) to buy some art. One piece is for my new gallery wall. The other piece is for home office. I also got some bowls for Pepper and a humidifier for my plants. After that, I stopped by Aldi to pick up an Always Pan knock off. They didn't have any.

Pepper is a real sweetheart. She is very affectionate. She doesn't destroy my plants or shred the toilet paper. She never jumps up on my kitchen counters or table. When I was painting, she sat at the end of the hallway and watched with curiousity. I fully expected her to jump in the paint tray and zing through the house.

She plays in the bathtub late at night. Usually, nothing is disturbed. Imagine my surprise this morning when I go to get in the shower and my puff is shredded. I now keep the door closed.

Has anyone heard from Irene?

No. Should this be in a separate thread

Maybe? She was active in this thread. I sent her a PM a while back and no answer. I know her daughter got married.

Her last few posts indicated that she had moved and was in declining health, if I recall correctly.

Poor Irene. She was such a kick! If she sees this, may she know that she was appreciated on the forum and is appreciated for who she is in real life.

Two days after positive Covid test I no longer feel like I was hit by a Mack truck, but a short walk outside was enough to send me back to bed for a nap.

Snowshoeing with a friend. And now hoping no one wants me to work in the morning. Snowing and blowing and roads might be bad.
Just thinking about things... All of my work plummeted this year when feet/legs became so bad that I was forced to be at home. Earnings are now nothing. My IC status undoubtedly changed from business to hobby (tax guy will confirm). At least I am still employed at wage job. I cannot be there because I still cannot wear shoes and because the sometimes noisy pain issue is still abating. This condition should change within weeks. Heaven forbid it takes months. But here is something: I have asked Jehovah Jirah to provide. He has! He has provided ideas, inspirations, and attitude corrections-- all of which make it possible for me to do the claustrophobic person's version of recommended medical treatments. Will I be able to work again soon? I dunno. First let's do the treatments! grinning smiley And what about this blessing?throughout December my beloved is available practically everywhere, including in my collection. This should add an element of wonderfulness to December treatments. Will it be enough to return me to work in January? (Inner Perfectionist Might Be Impatient...) Some ideas cost nothing, fortunately. He has yet to provide the funds to pay for the ideas that cost money, but I believe that He will do so at just the right time and in the best manner. After all, the items I purchased were an excellent price and provided free shipping. Such a deal!

That is a lot of musing for one post. I apologize.
