What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

There.I finished the living room manager bears' table. Everything is based upon their brown color. Dark brown directors' chairs w/ ecru canvas and their sweet, brown bear selves. Red table (because. just because. it is okay because of the topper!) with cream linen base cloth topped by brown and multi-colored crocheted coverlet. Tan lamp with brown suede lamp shade because this blends with the bears' brown color. It is rustic, quaint, odd, and just right with the riot of books and other fluff in the space. Somehow, the influx of fluff has been good for my Inner Perfectionist. No longer must anything/everything match, be buttoned down, toned down, tamped down, or otherwise stifled. It is all held in check by bookcases, walls, and doors in the same color. This is enough consistency to curtail the potential wildness.

For my next trick, I am cutting strips of the soft jersey fabric that I like to use in place of official compression products. Hubby has promised to help me with a specific pattern that mimics something I found online for ankles. The actual product has long bands that wrap around from two or three directions and, with hook & loop closures, form a tidy little package for the ankle. I want to do that with my super-soft fabric. I believe that I can get close to this pattern and that it will help with the swelling on all sides of my ankles. I have enjoyed so much relief from solidly built men's slippers I have been wearing that I forgot (oops!) that I still need to wrap my ankles. I need to progress from at-home footwear to public footwear, ya' know? grinning smiley

New day, new mercies, and new plan. I had to go with my usual modified wrap. It is the only thing that fits my feet/legs and specifically excludes other people whose ideas are medically sound but absolutely wrong for me. But think of stats in general. 100% agreement on anything just doesn't happen, and I am among the one percent or so of persons for whom the traditional methods for my condition are just not right. I have had to come up with some new affirmations/prayers/intentions for this, the greatest and final challenge. The first one? Even my seemingly puny efforts were and are enough to reverse the condition in both feet and to maintain the desired outcomes. Now, with a more focused effort for larger designated areas, I can and will achieve and maintain my desired goals and outcomes for my ankles and lower calves. I am wrapped and ready!

*eta* I exceeded my initial goal for this session but did not make it to the second goal. It's okay. The worst area on one ankle has changed shape! Perhaps tomorrow I can leave the wrap in place longer and experience other changes. Change! Huzzah! It is definitely a God thing and cannot be suggested or recommended for anyone else. All is well, smiling smiley

Padding my kayak. Refused a lot of work to make better use of this great day!

My friend, who I got him from, asked me the same thing this morning. I told her that I am skipping the vet and rehoming the cat. She called me to make arrangements to get him. She wants him to go to someone she can screen.

I talked to my Dad about him. My Dad said he's a tom cat and is doing what tom cats do. He's not an inside cat. That may be why he sits in the window all day.

Changing my siggy for banned books week. Finishing a good, old, non-banned book. Working out in a chair and then stretching so deeply that my entire being sighs, 'Ohhhh... aaaahhhhh... mmmmm... let's do this again soon!" smiling smiley

How sad for both you and the cat.

It breaks my heart that he's not happy, but I can't have him crapping all over my house.

I got my replacement Halo View (fitness tracker) yesterday. It was just the tracker and no band. I went to put it on the charger and found the old one under the spaghetti mess of wires.

Three-year-old grandson accidentally kicked my sore ankle last night and it really started hurting. I ended up going to the urgent care today to make sure there were no issues.

The diagnosis was no fracture (thank goodness). I left with a boot to wear until the ankle improves.

So far, so good. I used one of the wheeled office chairs to move parts & pieces of the current project from Point A to Point B. I can work at Point B as much or as little as possible until the project is finished. The main thing was to gather my project and get out of hubby's way. He is a hubby with a mission: He Is Going To Do Something About [This Room] Today! His project is the entire room! Mine was just a project that can happen there or anywhere. Mind you, I might be able to send him to a fave fishing spot instead of his working at this thing non-stop. In late September, there is not much time for fishing. There is an entire cold winter for indoor projects while waiting for fishing to be accessible again. But don't tell him I told you this. grinning smiley

Pedicure; short grocery store visit; assemble pot roast and trimmings in slow cooker; laundry.

Based in MD, near DC

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Worked, had everyone strip their bed linens, laundry marathon and pruned my flowers which are still budding and blooming. Furry baby went running like crazy in the yard.
Got to know another tiny corner of the area where Son and DIL live. Found a Target, office store, party supply store, Whole Foods, coffee shop, and multiple restaurants within walking distance of each other. Hubby was very patient as I hobbled along at half speed. On the way home pulled into a Sprouts for produce.

Amazon is now charging $15 for UPS to pick up an item from your home. I'm taking my returnable item to a shipping store near my burger shop tomorrow.

I gave the cat back to the owner. She has 3 dogs so I wonder if she will keep the kitty.

Thinking about National Homemade Cookies Day... hmm... I would need one more ingredient for a recipe that both Dad and Mom loved years ago.. and wondering just how many super-organized persons already started their annual holiday cookie bakes. Bake, decorate, freeze times dozens or hundreds of dozens for quantity bakers/eaters gets the job done!

Thinking about making cranberry-nut bread instead of cookies. It is now cool enough weather to contemplate using the oven for baking.

Left cookies in the realm of contemplation and will soon assemble a blender soup. As usual, I prepped this in stages and the few ingredients that needed to be cooked first were heated and cooled last night. So, into the blender it all goes! It will be easy to whizz, pour from the blender, and gently nuke servings throughout the day. I love easy recipes such as this one, but I also love the more complex dishes where the flavors develop over the course of a day or even overnight. Yum! *plans next week's shopping list around seasonal veggies & soup recipes*

I will bake Hubby's favourite cookies, otameal raisin, today. Need the heat.
As for holiday baking, people don't eat that much sweets, so baking very little. No need to start now. Other than Christmas cake.
I went to UPS to return my drill. Instead of emailing me a barcode, Amazon sent a label that I had to pay for.

During my nearby shop, I contacted Amazon. I asked them to send me a scannable code. They said that was not an option. I politely expressed my dissatisfaction at the lack of free return options: He arranged to have UPS pick up for free on Monday.

Doing some cleaning, laundry, and organization in my apartment today. Also working on tasks for my primary income stream (not mystery shopping). Taking breaks throughout the day.
Cold, rainy, raw day. I lazed around until 11AM. DH went with #2 to pick up Mom. Holding her hostage until Tuesday night. I will be at the office on Tuesday so she can have a relaxing day with fur baby who adores her. I did more laundry and went to Trader Joe's. It was packed. Watched the Gabby Petito movie. Sad.
Feet/legs are scolding me for overdoing again. But Inner Perfectionist is beaming! I stayed up until 2 a.m. or so and really dealt with the kitchen. It is so much better! To offset the scolding, I prepped and blessed my space where I stretch, work out, relax, read, etc. I think feet/legs will be happier when they get there and relax and... do whatever else we will do there today. grinning smiley

Start of a new quarter with my medicare advantage plan $45/qtr OTC benefit through CVS. So I'll be heading over there today to pick up a few items at no cost to me!! Then over to Aldi for milk, OJ, and bananas.
Quiet time just now. Hubby has gone fishin'! It is good to go as often as possible before access roads close and/or weather curtails his fun. Hate to clutter the quiet time with noise, but it is time to start laundry.

Paying close attention to the Graham Kerr shows on Tubi. This is the series where he explains how to improve the nutritional numbers for a large variety of dishes, delight the nose and the palate, and even stretch expensive ingredients and incorporate less expensive but nutritionally dense ingredients. This will go far to help with health and offset to some extent the outrageous effect of inflation in grocery world.
