What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Class at the gym, shop on the way home, then walk with Hubby before showering.

Tonight he had to drop off something from a charity event that happened over the weekend, then meet up with someone before coffee before they headed to a meeting together. All that busyness means that he left the house at 4 pm and I get to rattle around the house until he returns about 8:30.

Satisfied. Have reduced stuff overload by thirty percent. The current project will be finished by the middle of next week-- even if I have to insert a few days in there to make my goal. ! Each successive project will be easier and quicker. All is well in my world.

Elsewhere, I found an eyeliner that was still in its blister wrap. This is good (and a little embarrassing. I thought I had located all cosmetics). Even if my other products do not arrive in time for my next shop, I can at least create the illusion that I might just have eyes. This is something... grinning smiley

Took 20-year old cat to the vet for his annual visit. In human terms he would be about 100 years old, so it's not surprising he has some physical issues, but nothing has gotten worse in the past year. We could pursue treatments, but are choosing to let things be as long as his quality of life is good.

Worked. Vacuumed the bedrooms. Sweated even with the AC while doing so. My brother is wanting me to do something for him that is not easy or pleasant.
Will begin with the sorting project in the storage unit and do more of that at home later. Will need a nap because I stayed up late and finished the bookcases in one room. These bookcases are the current project which will be completed no later than Wednesday. We just have to start with the storage and get momentum. I don't mind that we have it, but I mind that the contents are a jumble of things moved in too quickly when there was the demand to change our apartment before a deadline. I also want to get rid of living room furniture and use the pieces from the storage unit. This one change will free the center of the living room. We want two pieces of exercise equipment there which we love and do not block egress.....

Walked to a restaurant for breakfast, where I discovered they have a Senior menu. For a little under $9 I got two huge pancakes and two strips of bacon. Ate all of it, along with liberal servings of butter and syrup, and drank multiple cups of coffee. My digestive system was not pleased.

You walked to the restaurant, so you deserved every single morsel!

We did not get to the storage unit yesterday but we went there today and saw... what we saw! We brought things home that belong with a project there, have a clear path and plan for the next batch of stuff, and will finish what we need to do there soon. I giggled when I remembered that someone said that Abraham Lincoln said that if he had eight hours to chop down a tree, he would spend six hours sharpening the axe. This look-see just made me happy. This is not so bad after all! We are not chopping down a tree, but we are whittling down stuff and working toward two end goals. One? Clear distinction between my stuff and hubby stuff. The other is to access the furniture in case we make the bold leap of faith and bring that back home (while replacing what is there now). All is well in storage unit project world... grinning smiley

[The other reason we only came to see is we forgot to bring a chair for me to sit on when I am working in there. *oops*]

Dropped on some kimchi at Youngest Son's house in between shops. Got to talk with him for a little bit and pet his dogs. Later in the day walked through IKEA to kill some time.

It's hot and sticky again. So refusing to go out again. This time vowing not to be a couch potato like I was a few weeks ago so I just did two exercise classes, a gentle yoga class and then a balance yoga class which is great. Never know how good or bad my balance is until I test it. LOL
Right after breakfast walk, then showered and started day. Mid-morning Zoom meeting, lunch, grabbing cup of coffee with Hubby. Later this afternoon I will pick up a friend to drive halfway across the state for an organization business meeting happening tomorrow.

Waiting for dryer. It seemed easier to run it for seemingly endless cycles instead of schlepping to the laundromat. Am so satisfied and pleased because the current project is thisclose to completion and will be finished no later than Wednesday. After that, there will be a few more tasks at the storage unit and many more smaller things to do at home. But for this moment, I am savoring this delicious sort of feeling at the end of a huge project that has been pending for years. Mmmmmmmm.......aaaaaahhhhhhh......oooooooohhhhhhhh.... smiling smiley

Cleaned house, made some "no bake" cookies and a peach cobbler. Froze some more peaches that hubby got this past week, and will seal them in sealer bags as soon as they are hard enough. The peach cobbler I made today was from the last batch frozen last year...as a matter of fact, it had the date "9/4/21" on it. Hubby goes crazy with this. Last week I froze up about 8 sealer bags of peaches and today I'll be sealing up 8 more bags!! Enough!!!
Just came back from a mini vacation to Myrtle Beach. It was a fun and much needed break. Now back to cleaning up and getting ready for the week.
More of projects. All these are small and quick. Cancelling unused/scarcely used services. Took pics of storage unit and made a plan to transfer from this larger unit back to a smaller unit. Will dump current living room furniture and bring back the pieces that have been in storage. Must reinforce boxes of "keeper" books with fresh filament tape before moving them. Will save some money and feel lighter and freer.Later in the week, one car gets a diagnostic. I hope there is nothing wrong that involves and expensive repair!

Trip to the gym in am, yearly dermatologist appointment in afternoon.

When I left my condo building's garage today I saw someone had left a large piece of styrofoam (approximately 4 feet by 18 inches) next to the trash cans. It was still there when I got back so I grabbed it for using in post office boxes.

New plan: transfer storage units next week. Just for today, I can deal with legs/feet and work on the tiniest of tasks at home. I over-stressed them during the past few weeks and they are demanding some love! They get music that we love lots of time on their foot rest, and we will read just as we please. All good, all day. smiling smiley

Appointment to complete my TSA Precheck screening. Hubby and I had back-to-back time slots and were out of there in 20 minutes. Back at home, put more effort than usual into dinner for tonight and tomorrow. Some time before I go to bed must go to Walgreens to pick up a prescription.

For the first time in months, I slept properly and enough. !

I went to Aldi on Sunday. As soon as I walked in the door, there was an Umbrella Tree that had my name on it, It's now in a sunny corner of my bedroom. I repotted my oregano. I'm waiting a week to repot my Monstera.

Working my butt off from home. Was notified today that I will have to report for work physically 1 0r 2X a week until Oct. Trying to organize Labor Day Soiree for 30+ people at my home. I think this is the last year we will be doing this. I'm tired. Trying to find a venue for a special birthday celebration in Oct. for 50 people. Prices have increased so much but I sure as heck am not going to have it in my home.
Hot. Tired. Hubby is even more so, because he did most of the work. We have organized everything except the reinforcement strapping tape on some boxes. We will transfer storage units and change the furniture in the living room then. The car has its diagnostic, or check-up, tomorrow. On one of the following days we will finish up with boxes. That is a relief. For the rest of today, my feet/legs are still on light duty. Then, I add some sorting that is not too hard on them.

I picked up a ZZ plant from Aldi today. That will complete my collection!

Waiting for a shop fee to increase to "my" usual amount. Cooking, sorting, and keeping the feet/legs propped as much as possible. This means doing more of the aerobic workouts that are done in any chair.

In an effort to get our steps in before it got too hot Hubby and I were at the Botanical Garden when they opened at 9. Ninety minutes later both our legs and our stomachs said it was time to take a break. Made a couple of stops on the way home. I will spend the rest of the day catching up on deferred paperwork and house straightening.

The usual. Worked, cleaned and did a whole lot of food shopping. Not done yet as some things need to be bought that day. I wish everyone a memorable Labor Day. Work hard, play hard. :-;
Went to store to get groceries, so nice to be able to do that again. Worked a little, short nap. Been working on buying a house since July, looks like we may close next week. Fingers crossed.
Errands, Zoom meeting, church. Attending Bingo tonight
