Last of my summer houseguests have departed.

Starting the Hard 75 exercise system today: Every day I will do 45-minute workouts at least 4 hours apart, one gallon of water, zero alcohol, 1400 calories of low-carb food, daily photo and 10 pages a day of reading. Pandemic poundage, BEGONE!
Ignoring 99% of my "to do" list and having a very lazy day. Breakfast at 11. Playing computer games. Time for a nap. I think.

Oh, I like their steeped tea a lot also.

Sounds way too hard! Enjoy.

Planning what to take in my kayak for an all day trip. Really no where to get out of the river valley until we reach our destination. Why did I agree to this? LOL

An all-day kayak trip sounds way too hard for me, lol. My 2x 45 minutes are: (1) a water aerobics class in the sunshine outside and (3) a slow treadmill trot while watching a baseball game tonight.
So far today: My recipe experiment was good and bad. It needed more sharp, tangy , pungency to mimic the traditional flavors. I need another city's marketplace for those flavors/ingredients! The rice part was great and the leftover sauce will be better as sauce for a casserole or the base for a soup. So, good enough! I Found My Chair!!!!! Long store there. Bottom line: current furniture would cripple me if I did not make this change. I still need to call stores to find out if I can pick up today or tomorrow or must wait. (Websites are mostly helpful, but there is a default setting on my computer for a place that I do not live. This makes it necessary to take the extra steps to verify where my chair is/will be.) Just knowing that relief is on the way gives me hope. The price is good, too. I had to fund new tires for hubby's car so that we can travel with air conditioning. My car needs to have the air system updated or repaired. He "should" pay. OTOH, he is bartering, in a way, because he is doing so much extra work at home that I am not doing just now. All is well.

*eta*
Oh, Holy Unprintable! My chair must be ordered and delivered. My estimated delivery date is in a week. Seven Days! All is well anyway. The chair is worth waiting for, even if waiting lasts another week.... *scurries away to dream up alternatives for the current situation that can last seven days*

Most of the day is leisurely drifting down the river, enjoying the scenery.
It's just thinking of things that might go wrong, and will I be able to move after hours sat in the kayak. LOL
School starts for me in six days (in-service training) and then the classrooms open in 2-1/2 weeks.

I’m deep-cleaning my house and figuring out two weeks of outfits and meal prep so the beginning goes OK-ish. I’m watching South Korean YouTube videos with calming housekeeping demos to keep me motivated.

Also trying to stay as calm and centered as possible in the face of rising Covid and monkeypox numbers in my city. I am in a Title I school this year, and the parents were hit very hard by Covid in 2020 and 2021. I hope that 2022 is better for the families, but am worried for them (and a little for me, too.) I bought a strong virucide for surface cleaning and am making a HEPA filter box for air circulation.

Not sure what we are doing today besides house tasks. I chuckled at our task list. Hubby has four items. I have thirty four things to do. He won't mind.

Got my second Moderna booster yesterday. Woke up very achy and feeling limp this morning. Since my body is pretending to be sick, I think that I will humor that pretense and try to accomplish very, very little.

Broke my Hard 75 diet last night when my husband came home with a box of Nutella cupcakes. He’s going to fishing camp next week, will restart when he’s away. He can eat anything and stay at 185 lbs, it is completely unfair.

Haven’t done any paid work this week, but have $980 in video work to do on Th/Fri. Two 13-hour days back to back, lots of route planning involved to get it all done on time. Leaving at 0430 tomorrow to hit my first location at 0900, then working my way back home. I hope to find the last Nutella cupcake hidden in the corner of the freezer at dinner time.
I wondered how long that diet could be sustained. As soon as I saw no alcohol, I wanted some wine.

So today is two hours and three minutes old, and I have accumulated 34 minutes of activity. But this is okay. There are another six of daily workout and whatever walking I do otherwise. Turns out the only comfortable seat for me is the passenger seat in hubby's car. All other seating is not deep enough and cuts me off at mid-thigh. Ow! And, bad for my medical condition! And, bad for relaxing into sleep. So we are taking this car into nature and shade and doing our individual versions of fun in the shade. Me? I read and do puzzles when I am awake. Hubby? He will probably snooze. Just in case, he brought his camera. Recently, we went to where we had seen moose. This time, we heard and then saw cattle. Was that a real cow, or was it digital? I have never heard that much communication from one cow before. Perhaps critters will be available for observation. That is always a good thing. The other really good thing is that "my" at-home all-purpose chair is due to arrive early next week. This thing is mostly adjustable. Can you say, no more princess and the pea for me? I will still need a foot stool or ottoman. Those are practically ubiquitous and I can pick one up later.

Getting ready to start two marathon days of shops, back-to-back. I jammed a week of video shops into two huge days as an experiment. This is either going to be genius or idiocy.
This will be a perfect day. Cleaning, harvesting beans at least and prepping for an all day paddle tomorrow.
Filing an online application for a grant to help with updating energy efficiency in my home. Mostly staying indoors due to ozone levels high enough to be a danger to people like me. I thought this would be a good time to recover from post-vaccine pains, etc., and it seems that I was correct.

Tim Horton is right up the escalator from my office. Love it and miss it but I so love my own Columbian Coffee in the AM.
Got called for Jury Duty today. Was on standby since last Friday. Thought I would beat it but my number was one of the last 3 summoned. Got dismissed at 12:30PM, YAY! Stopped at the Asian market and bought 16 bricks of Tofu. Twelve for us and 3 for Mom that I dropped off. Miss Sweetie had lunch waiting for me. Sooooo good. She liked the Bok Choy, grapes, oranges, garlic and mangoes I bought too. What a great day!
I meant 4 for Mom, lol. We went to Latin Night tonight; free concert at the park. What fabulous musicians and vocalists. Merengue, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Bachata. We danced them all. Back to work tomorrow. I wish you all a relaxing weekend.
For the vast majority of the past two weeks that we've been visiting adult children and their families I haven't had any alone time. This morning I announced I was going to go out and weed in Oldest Son's backyard. I did so for almost 90 minutes (until the sun made things too hot).
I had so much fun I may do the same thing tomorrow.

My chair is on the way. It will arrive Monday. *picture it: hobbling not-really-that-old woman flings up her cane, sings a ditty, and dances Vaudevile-style with cane on imaginary cyber stage. the mere thought of this should make you giggle* So for the next few days, we will camp out at night so that I can sleep. We figured out that hubby's current car seats are as comfy for him as similar seats from a 60's vehicle that he had long ago. Something in the design suits him-- and now, me. Go, hubby. He camps properly, in a tent with sleeping bags. I just sleep. It's okay.

Paddling down a river for about 4 hours, instead of the 8 hours originally planned for today. I'm relieved as it's a pretty chilly morning.
I went to the farmers market. I gpt a sourdough roll with cheese and onion, multi colored carrots, basket of roma tomatoes, 1 beefsteak tomato, scallions, smoothie with strawberry/banana and lemon yogurt, sweet corn, red lettuce, green lettuce, pumpkin bread, cilantro, and jalapenos. I had to make 2 trips over to my place and unload then go back.... smiling smiley
I went to Sam's Club. I got my deodorant, shampoo and conditioner to last a year. I will be eating Mississippi Pot Roast for most of next week. Meeting friends for a day drinking brunch tomorrow.

I set up a smart strip in my home office. I like the way it works, so I set one up in my living room home entertainment center. The control was the TV. Unfortunately, when the TV was shut off, the bedroom cable box was shut off. On to plan B.

A busy busy week. Last week was Preplanning for teachers. Wednesday was "Meet the Teacher Day". I stayed at work late most days. Today was a speech session in the morning for my daughter, visit the school to show my daughter where I work and put together filing cart, a trip to the teacher store to buy a calendar for the board , then 3 shops (storage, fast food, and grocery store). Sleepy now...good night!
Brunch with friends this morning. I had huevos rancheros and fried green tomatos.

Love fried green tomatoes. Paddling. Had to abandon paddling on Friday, due to weather.
